“Bumble is a Scam. Straight Up!”

James A.

Bumble is fake. Prior to paying for a 6 month subscription, they "claimed" that I had 10 "likes" waiting for me. After my subscription payment was processed, those "likes" disappeared. For 6 months I received only four "likes." Then, to prove it's a scam, the day after my subscription ended, Bumble tells me that I have 9 new "likes" and that I would need to purchase another 6 month subscription to view their profiles. I actually tried to cancel the subscription within 30 days of my first day with Bumble, but they refused to provide me with a refund. Bumble is a joke. Please don't waste your money. Trust me.

At some point they decided to verify my photo. I sent them several pictures. They rejected all of them. Their requirements are ridiculous like "You copy the pose exactly", "Your photo matches your profile pictures". Do I have to go back in time? Do I have to drive 100 miles to the forest I had as background? They claim they use facial recognition software. Probably from 19th century.

Scam! Paid 65$ for 1 month and got 5 matches.- now they have my profile (which I cannot take DOWN)... My image is up there... but I AM NOT THERE... they are profiting... Every time I try to take my profile down I get 10 screens of "you are not a robot right?"... then (and this is the kicker) I get a screen with "PLEASE COME AND VISIT US WHEN YOU ARE 18...SORRY YOU ARE NOT 18" I am 60 and I want to start a class action lawsuit against these clowns!

Tip for consumers:
Horrible. Just horrible....

From my experience, on day one, after I made a profile and edited a few things, within 24 hours, they wanted verification of who I am. It's an optional thing for verification (not sure I believe that), but their policy says they can request it. I don't have a problem with verification to prevent fraud, but as they say in their policy they use humans moderators and in some cases biometrics. Believe me, from my view, their is no human comparing photos (I tested it in many ways), it's just purely biometrics of your face. My understanding is they store it for a minimum of three years and a third party is involved. I don't trust any form of collecting biometrics information sitting on unknown servers waiting to be hacked. It's not like your credit card where you can just change cards. It's something that is permanent and can be used wrongfully in the wring hands. What happens to that info when the company is sold or doesn't exist in the future sitting on computers somewhere? As is a frequent complaint on these reviews, there is no real customer support - no phone number either. I have emailed support both through the Bumble app and regular response emails over 22 times with different ways of expressing my concerns. I was requesting that they just compare photos ONLY by using humans - NO biometrics, or delete my account and refund my money.

After a week, i get a generic canned response of telling me how to delete my account. And, that wasn't even correct. That is, I can't get into your account to delete it UNLESS I go through the biometrics approval and it passes ( which many have said they can't get it passed). In the mean time, they keep charging me. I kept emailing them again, another week goes by, I get another canned response with only instructions from them how to use there verification process. Duh... Nothing new,; same no response to my questions. I even made a case that a bot, or a scamming human being would not go through this much effort of original content relevant emails. That it is just common sense with that alone! Of course, no response. Like so many things in our society now, they want to force you into their system. If you don't fit the mold and/or not willing, they will take money and just leave you in limbo. They know that you are too small to fight the corporate machine, so they just keep pilfering and fleecing. Human integrity is going out the window for profit only models which is going to and has already started bitting us in the a*s. Stay away from this site!

Boycott none human interaction companies that don't even have actual human support. This will pressure others to start putting that forward. But, just wait for AI to fake human interaction. Another profit driven scheme in the waiting, sadly..

Tip for consumers:
Don't use it unless you are fine having your biometrics stored on unknown servers which can be potentially hacked, and you don't care about having any real customer support. Not sure of the dating part since from day one they wanted my biometrics which I refused to give, instead requesting they use humans to compare instead. No response, can't delete account without subjecting to biometrics because I can't get in to delete it.

Guys like myself if you are in Japan you need to verify your age. Fair enough it asks you for proof ( drivers licence, Passport) which I have done but it will tell you like me can't verify after a few attempts it will lock you out saying you are under age contact support.
Good luck this is where the fun begins 1st response after 3rd day submitted what they asked for still waiting for an answer have been written every day still no answer.
So if you are overseas especially Japan which wants proof that you are over 18 STAY AWAY FROM THIS APP AS IT IS USELESS.

The female profiles on this site all seem to like hiking, horse riding, yoga, wine, cheese, gin, the gym, and running.
Photos showing a selfie in the gym, crossing the finish line at races, or petting their horse.
Common pre-requisites from the women who are looking for their "partner in crime" include:
"must be able to make me laugh"
"must have nice teeth"
"Must have good banter"
"must have a beard"
Completely false, laughable and depressing at the same time.
Fake profiles and time wasters everywhere, verification means nothing.
The algorithm means you'll find your successful activity lasts around 1-2 weeks, after which your profile will be banished to the wilderness of Bumble, resulting in no more matches, and you'll have seen all there is to offer in the local area.
DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY.
Avoid this site like the plague.

Yet another bad review for bumble. Surprise, surprise (sarcasm). They banned me. I contacted bumble support several times to ask why I was banned. They refused to let me know. Fine. Don't tell me. Leave me in the dark. Well. If you choose not to tell me what I did wrong, at least refund me. Give me my money back. They also refused to refund me. Avoid bumble. Choose another dating app

Some 70% of men I had matched with and initiated a conversation don't ever reply! Or unmatched me soon after I started talking to them. Why are you matching then? What is wrong with you? Playing mind games or something? This app must be an ego booster for men and nothing else. I should add that I am attractive tall woman, and good at holding a decent conversation, so can't understand this.
I have now deleted Bumble and will never use again!

If they block you, they will not respond to your support messages and the only thing they will say to you on social media (Twitter/X) is we respond to everyone and we don't block for just any reason. They are quick to go on defense (Look under Trustpilot), but they will never fix their problem. Tons of people have been wrongfully blocked and it has never been fixed.

Do not use this site, I had only been on the site for 2-3 weeks, and if you read the terms and services, they pretty much keep track of the photos you have/had posted and of your IP address and phone number so if you try to make a second account you will be banned instantly.

Pretty ridiculous site mainly because it's location based. What do I need to try to match with women vacationing in my home state? I get matched with women as they are changing planes at Denver International Airport, spending a few days nearby or while skiing at resorts 100 miles away. Conversely I get matched with women while I'm traveling and none of them are eager to meet the guy who lives 1000 miles away. This is useless and a waste of everyone's time and energy.

Be wary of this sketchy, scam site.

1. They'll hide the cancellation option and continue to auto bill you each month

2. There's men dressed up as women on the women's side

3. There's prostitutes and prostitution on the app

4. Customer service is impossible to contact or unhelpful for the rare time they do reply

5. Fake profiles of models

I could go on but you get the idea. Use at your own risk!

Verified purchase

My account was blocked because a member reported me. I asked for this to be reversed but was told that it was permanent as I violated their guidelines. I carefully read through the guidelines and I most certainly did not violate any one of them.

I believe the person who reported me (she actually wrote to me and said that she was goign to do so) is someone that I had not written to or responded to on Bumble but rather who was angry at me for something that happened between us in person many years prior, and long before I was on Bumble.

This is particularly aggravated by the fact that I had foolishly shelled out $249.99 for a lifetime membership only to have it cancelled with no money returned at all.

I feel for all the reviewers who have come here to express their frustrations with Bumble. The company has hired an entitled group of similar bent pushing an agenda narrowly based on their radical beliefs and pushing this on daters across the counties they infiltrate. Their beliefs of right and wrong are so screwed and different from the majority of the world.
They have created a fiefdom based on fake and scammer profiles in the beliefs that pushing AI relationships is more important than providing a safe platform for normal people to meet. It is a sesspool and frustrating waste of time created strictly to take your money. Their better than thou attitudes forcing their beliefs and rules interpreted based on their perverse view of the world on all while providing a platform filled with dangerous scammers and bots and fakes is sickening.
Fine. It's is their sandbox and if you play it's their rules and interpretations. Their group of office workers read your communications and make decisions while at the same time filling their site with fake profiles.
Don't ever pay. This group that is so rule focused has screwed probably thousands out of their money and have been flagged even by the BBB based on their bad business practices and hundreds of unanswered complaints.

Imagine being banned or warned and never being told why? If you think this could never happen to you, well, I thought this too.

Over a month of trying to get an answer and here is what I keep getting from them:

"I completely understand how frustrating it is to not know the exact reason why the account had been warned.

However, we have strict privacy laws and in order to protect the integrity of our internal systems we cannot reveal certain information.

Please know we investigate each report thoroughly and with the utmost care to avoid causing any unintentional distress or confusion.

The warning has been reviewed by multiple team members here at Bumble and has been deemed to have been issued fairly.

At this stage I can recommend having a look over our Community Guidelines as well as our Terms and Conditions via the following links:"

Any educated reasonable person reading this who then gives Bumble any money or continues to pay deserves to be in the other end of this insanity. I have never given them a dime.
I just want to get the word out as I am sure there are others like me. If you find this useful, please mark it as such so it will be available for others. Bumble and other sites are so opaque that it is important to make their despicable practices known to all.

I am not saying you can't meet someone here. I just want people to be clear of the dangers. Never pay. You do not have to pay to meet someone. Do the work. Read the profiles and like those you are interested in. Don't only go by what fills your in box. If you are a woman, make an effort in your message. Men don't know you and have no reason to chase you unless you give them one. Don't just say hello. Never pay Bumble or any of these sites. Never give anyone you meet on any of these sites money. Never. No matter how long you are talking never do it. If you are insisting on paying read the BBB site warning first.

Tip for consumers:
I am not saying that you should not use these sites. What I am saying is that you should be very careful. You won the risk of losing your money if you pay Bumble. You run the risk of losing your money if you give money to anyone you meet on the site. You run the risk of stress and mental distress by using these sites so if you have issues and you are at risk because of a recent breakup or depression or anxiety then consider monitoring yourself while using the sites because these sites are very d

Buble is a dangerous money suck. Never pay.
September 30th, 2023
• Previous review

Bumble really is a dangerous money suck. If you don't believe me just read all the negative comments. Look at other sites including the better Business bureau and a trust pilot. Never believe any of the five-star ratings as they are generated by scammers, or solicited or are paid for.
I am not saying not to use this site but only to use it with caution. Never ever pay Bumble as it does not increase your chances of finding a match. It just gives the bumble company money. Be careful because the site is filled with scammers, bots and married men. Never ever give money to anyone under any circumstances. This includes Bumble.
Only communicate with those profiles that are verified and beware that even verified profiles can be faked. Bumble does absolutely nothing to protect you.

One of the issues that I recently experienced was that I believe I may have rejected a person or a scammer and because of this they reported me to Bumble
And Bumble immediately sent me a warning saying that if I continued this bad behavior that I would be banned. They sent me their terms of services and rules but never told me what I did wrong. I have had so far over a week of messaging back and forth to Bumble and it is as frustrating as having a conversation with a 2-year-old. They refuse to tell me what I did. To be honest, I could care less if they ban me. The important thing to know is that unless you have significant mental fortitude you should not use this site because you are going to be hammered on all sides by scammers, people that are just not nice, married people and worst of all you're going to get upset because of the way Bumble treats the people using their site.

Why should this concern you? Well if you were unfortunate enough to have given Bumble money, and they decide to ban you for whatever reason, you have no recourse and you lose your money. Shame on you for ever giving any of these dating sites any money.

Also, the way that they have set up their site is also terrible for people trying to meet each other. You must know, this is perfect for them as the site is not set up to have you meet each other and leave the site. This would be counterintuitive to the reason that Bumble is in business. If everybody matches up and leaves the site then they won't have people as potential customers to give them money. They have no interest in seeing that you meet someone. This is why they don't do anything to make the profiles more useful. They allow scammers to come on and not fill out profiles and put fake pictures. They allow low value people to come on and catfish and a scam you. It is psychologically set up to make you feel like you have to pay money to get a match or a decent match. This is not true. They fill their site with all these fake profiles and stuff and over time, if you let it, it could significantly cause you psychological problems. So if you're coming off of a breakup or you're stressed in your life, be careful coming on to a site like this as it could really cause you mental problems.

My problem is that the site is purposely not set up to have you match and meet people so you end up spending hours and hours swiping on people and most of these profiles are fake and you spend days and weeks doing this without even a match. When you do get a match, usually they go nowhere. It's worse than going to a gambling casino because at least in the casino they are regulated and have to have payouts. Here there are no payouts.

If you don't believe what I'm saying please please spend some time reading all the negative reviews. Hopefully it will convince you not to pay and will at least give you some tools to proceed knowing all the bad things that can happen.

Right now I am dealing with bumbles ridiculous customer service and I am so glad I have never given them a dime.

One last thing, when you are using bumble, look at the profiles and look at the pictures and really consider whether or not this is a real person or is this profile just too good to r true. Step back and really think about it. Do people really look this good with such professional pictures? Are people really this perfect? Why has a real person not written anything of interest or about relationships or what they're looking for in their profile? Does this person or does this profile really look like something you would expect a real person to have written? Is what the person has written in their profile nonsensical and has nothing to do with dating and relationships? Just beware and think about those questions because most of bumbles profiles are fake.

I see a lot of people complaining about their experiences with the profiles that are on Bumble. Unfortunately many of these people who have these really bad experiences believe that they are communicating with real people. They don't realize that they are communicating with fakes a scammer and bots. Yes there are quite a few low value people that are real on Bumble but most real people are there looking for a real relationship. I think what people have a problem with is that they have interactions with these fakes and they think it's real and then they come on and complain about how bad the people are on these sites. Always go back and check the bait you're using to fish with especially if you're not attracting the right kind of fish. Make sure your pictures and profile and messages don't sound like bots or scammers. Be realistic and honest and be safe. However, whatever you do never ever ever pay Bumble and never give anybody you meet under any circumstances for any reason any money.

I texted someone and lo and behold they left the country after a short time. Kept in touch, but had a bad vide. I was correct, he was in a jam and needed money. Surprise. No money and haven't heard since. This guy went to a lot of trouble to set up his scam. I contacted Bumble because I thought he might be pulling this on other woman. Never heard back from them and I gave them quite a bit of info.
