SCAMMED!
December 28, 2024

They Tried to pay me to keep QUIET about scamming me!
They Actually violated our contract in early 2024... then tried to pay me my own money back to be QUIET in December 2024! "Take down your reviews and we will pay you the money." Go to the website pissed consumers on this "company" Book Writing Lane and see for yourself how many people have been scammed! Listen...

I have pictures to share on the internet, please head over there and see PROOF of what happened in December of 2024! Just look up "Book Writing Lane" online and I'm under the reviews as Chelsea Deboer. I left a review up on here regarding this year explaining that they violated our contract. What they do is they have you sign a contract to "help you write your book." Then they keep the money past 60 days while they make you vocal promises from their "team." They never end up really sending you the promised work. You get frustrated and call & text... but they don't answer and if they do they make excuses like they were busy. Worse, they'll ask you to calm down and "be patient."

They'll do this as long as you let them, so long as you've paid them money, they keep it and linger on it, that way when you go to end the contract out of frustration, your bank can't protect you. YOU LOSE ALL THE MONEY YOU PAID. Essentially your book never gets written.

So, I signed with them in September 2023. Paid $300 upfront. Waited until January 2024 and paid another $150. They sent me nothing of value as far as edits, book covers, etc. In fact, they ended up firing "Sabrina" my main source of contact assigned to me. Also Sabrina told me they couldn't do things for me the contract was supposed to. Harvey, Solomon and Veronica took over and essentially, nobody did anything for my book while they sat on me $450.

In my prior review here, they actually responded and LIED about how they helped me and... anyway $300 of my money was not protected so they kept it.

December 2024 Solomon contacted me and asked me to sign a contract that states they will only paypal or zelle me back my $300 IF I take down my review on here and never mention it to anyone. I said I'd take my $300 back but only through my bank. Solomon essentially said no, and my bank confirmed why. If Book Writing Lane puts it on the record through my bank, I can prove illegal activity. I never saw the $300 back at all through paypal or Zelle. They are honestly terrible, dishonest people. I can do without the $300 if it meant to come here and tell you what happened to me. TRUST THE REVIEWS ABOUT THEM STEALING MONEY, THE 5 STAR REVIEWS DON'T MAKE SENSE. NO books have been proven to be released under these 5 star reviews! No book titles, no source to find ANY book that was actually published. But you can fake a 5 star review if you're book writing lane... SO, head to google look up reviews.io and "Book writing lane" You'll find proof there. They sure tried hard to make it look like these 5 star reviews were legit ever since my last post over there...

Nightmare
July 22, 2022

IF YOU WANT TO END UP IN A MENTAL INSTITUTION, FALL FOR THIS "PUBLISHER." I am not joking! This is a total bucket shop, operating under various business names. My story with them started more than a year ago. After a horrendous and very delayed editing work, all kinds of excuses and lies, they changed the manager of my case. The negligent editing continued for a couple of months more. After they "published" my e-book incorrectly (completely disregarding the final draft, which took them months to edit), it was time to publish the paperback and do some marketing. Long story short, they published the paperback in a wrong size (!) and omitted key features in the text. In other words, the book was unreadable. I had to take it down and reimburse all the folks who, meanwhile, bought it on Amazon. They never even apologized, nor they reimbursed me for the loss they directly caused. But they did pitch me their printing services, claiming that it's much better quality. Price? 10 x Amazon's. After many attempts to contact the management (they will ignore you), someone really rude and unintelligent contacted me, telling me that "I should be more understanding as Book Writing Lane has a financial and internal issues." You cannot make this up. Marketing was even worse. They overlay the editing and marketing payments (strategy of sucking $ from you). When they sent me the marketing calendar proposal, it had a dozen of gross grammatical errors and cheesy images from Canva. I had to redo the entire calendar myself, and they were not even capable to fix the grammatical errors they created. It took 12 back and forths with the marketing manager, who, I believe, is mentally challenged. The project manager Jonah (probably "Smith"), assured me that the marketing program will generate minimum of 3 x ROI (of course I didn't believe him), but most importantly, that he will send me a report every month for 6 months. How many reports do you think I got? ONE (1)! In January and they vanished. When I got a hold of the marketing manager (Alan Smith), he casually informed me that the marketing didn't work. Never ever he showed me the "paid" ads he said he would run. Just get on a sales call with them and listen to what they will be promising - it is outrageous. The worst thing is that they take your money, they do a horrible job and when you start complaining, they IGNORE you and play Chinese psychological games. After filing a complaint with BBB (useless but necessary), I put together a real complaint at the FTC and later at The State of California Department of Justice. FYI, they hide behind a company called 360 Art Studio Inc. Their sales team will promise and guarantee you many things (all tricks to hook you), mainly that you can ask for money back at any point, "no questions asked". Go and read the reviews for 360 Art Studio = Bookwritinglane.com. Just a side note: Two days ago, I communicated with the "publishing" manager over the same number I have had on my phone for the past 8 months, with many text messages from the "manager" called "Jonah." Yesterday, he texted me that he needs to talk to me about the refund. Today, the same number, with hundreds of texts from "Jonah", informed me that "there is nobody of the name Jonah who works here, and the Book Writing Lane is not our brand name." He also told me that Book Writing Lane has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with 360 Art Studio Inc. Hmm, why then my invoices are paid to 360 Art Studio Inc? In other words, this is yet another game they are playing. If you ever get on the live chat and ask for help, they will assure you that someone will call you within 24 hours - don't be fooled, after you pay them, nobody will call you. If you insist, they will block you in the chat. The only option left will be a real legal complaint with the authorities because people like this need to be dealt with. I have never had an experience like this, but I am so pissed that I will go to as far as I can, even if I have to fly to San Francisco.
BTW, I have read the wonderful 5-star reviews and I have to say that I have NOT had any of the wonderful experiences described in them. I experienced lots of UNBELIEVABLE negligence, GROSS errors, LONG delays, OUTRAGEOUS excuses and lies, but the worst part - they will ignore you when you ask for money back. Prepare for amazing games they play. Everyone needs to look at the reviews for 360 Art Studio - that is the true picture. The reviews for Book Writing Lane are fixed. They play the game of dragging everything out, relying on the statistic that most people take the loss and give up. How would you feel if you gave someone, who did a horrible job, a 2nd chance, paid them 2.1k, and they would not do what was agreed upon, and they would vanish, and you wouldn't be able to reach them? Not a word from them, completely disappeared, but I will get them.

Tip for consumers:

Don't be the next victim of this scam!
