What a great experience! I called twice about my order just to check on what was happening and each time I spoke to a caring friendly individual who made me feel like they really cared about my order. Thank you for such a great experience. Love dealing with your company! Every time I need a part that is out of stock at my local Yamaha dealership, you have it in stock and for a better price than the dealership. Thank you and please keep up the great work!

Ordered spark plugs that said qty of 4. Only came with one. After talking to costumer service, they said that has been a major complaint. Asked why it did not state that in the description, she could not give an answer. It wasn't stated in the description because they have been taking advantage of people because they know most people won't go through the hassle of sending them back. Not a very good business decision.

Extremely slow shipping. Paid for expedited shipping. UPS picks up the shipment and takes to mail innovations where it will take several days or weeks for delivery.

Original order was place 3/19. I needed the part so I could use the boat that Friday so I paid for 2 day air. Originally the part was to arrive on 3/21, then it was pushed to 3/22, then it was lost some how or somewhere. That was order#10-*******

Called on Wednesday and the customer service Rep agreed to send a replacement via overnight so I could be back on the water this Friday. Order #*******. It's now Thursday at 5:40. When I checked the tracking, the part is still waiting to be picked up. I'm out another weekend because of this. There is no way I can rely on boats.net after this.

We do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. I have reviewed your order and do see that it went out yesterday but the carrier hasn't scanned the part out for delivery. If you reference 10113957 on your next order we can give free shipping on it if you would like to give us another chance. We do again apologize for the shipping issues.

Good morning Scott,
Thank you so much for reaching out to us. I see the part on the order is for just two filters, 99105-20005 at $46.53 each, for the full assembly the part number would need to be 99105-20005-ASY at $158.07 each. We can start a return of these parts for a refund and start a new order for the new parts if you would like. If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to contact us. We appreciate your business and hope you have a great day!

Hi Greg,

I am sorry to hear about what happened to your order. After looking closely at your order, it seems that these products were sent by one of our most reliable shipping companies. There are a number of possibilities as to why your order was damaged in transit, but our best assumption is that there was a carrier issue. Our customer service department offered to replace the order or give you a substantial discount. Contact us if we can be of any further assistance.

May 10 ordered parts. Auto email says may be 2-3 days delay. OK Coronavirus - understandable. Next day, email received: one part not in stock will have on May 13. Next day, new email, same part - say they will have it on May 14. May 15 - 19 no change, no shipment, no communication. I send an email and get an auto response that it may take 3-4 days to get a real response but here's a phone number if you really want to talk to us. I try to call the number and they are closed except very limited hours. Fine I try again after 10 am and the auto phone system says I am #125 in line. Auto phone system offers option for them to call me back when it is my turn. I try that but it doesn't respond. I wait 20 minutes and I have moved from 125 to 111. I am at work, I can't wait any longer. Of course they are only open in hours that I am at work. Tried a few more times to reach them by phone - no way to get someone on the line. I have sent them THREE Emails asking them to cancel my order. I have picked up the parts locally and don't need them anymore. Nine days now and they have NEVER responded to any of my emails. Yesterday they send an email that my order has been shipped. This is not just REALLY BAD SERVICE, it is CRIMINAL and FRAUD. They are not even trying to deliver parts within the time frame they claim. How can any company operate a website that takes your credit card and then prevent any communication from customers? I had a good experience with this company a few years ago but I will never use them again. Consider yourself warned.

Hi Russ,

We are sorry it has been so difficult for you to get in touch with us. As an boating aficionado myself I understand how frustrating this is for you. Our call centers have been operating with shorter hours and increased traffic due to the current health crisis and its repercussions. If you still haven't received your order, send us your information at loyalty@partzilla.com and I will personally look into the status of your order.

Hi Jay,

We are sorry to hear about your experience with Boats.net. We try our best to deliver parts in a timely and efficient manner but unfortunately, it doesn't always work out that way. International shipping may incur delays for example customs processing, that are beyond our control. We have the highest quality parts at the lowest possible prices and we feel that sometimes that's worth the wait. I contacted you privately and I hope we can work this out. Thanks for letting us know.

I ordered a part, they shipped a completely different part than the one I ordered. When I went to return it I was told they would not cover the cost because I ordered it online and did not solicit the assistance of their techs. Their return policy states "The cost to ship a return item will be at the expense of Boats.net when we made an error, otherwise shipping is not covered." I guess them shipping the wrong part isn't considered an error. DO NOT TRUST THIS BUSINESS.

I ordered several parts at once as I was rebuilding my motorcycle. On their website, they claimed that everything was in stock and is ready to ship in 2-3 days. FALSE! It's two weeks already and I just now received a partial shipment. I called them several times and nobody seems to know anything about anything. Finally someone promised me that they will ship what they have and another part will be shipped the next day, which never happened either. And now they are saying that their policy doesn't allow more than one partial shipment and blablabla. Basically in short: this company is unprofessional, not courteous and not at all punctual.

Normally I order parts from Crowley Marine, however, boats.net was slightly cheaper so I figured I would give them a try. I called to verify which parts I needed and was given the wrong part numbers. After my own research I found the correct numbers. I called the customer service to verify the avaiability before placing my order. She stated all parts were in stock except for a 1.09 o ring which would have to come direct from Mercury out of Wisconsin, but they had it in stock, 2 or 3 business days max to get that, everything else they had. I place the order early in the morning 9-5-18 The 8th I get a email saying it will be ready the 12th. On the 14th I get a email saying they are going to ship the in stock parts (9 days later) and the out of stock o ring the 17th. On the 15th (supposedly) they shipped my package of instock parts ( now 10 days after my order). The 15th in the morning, I called, same song and dance, the manufacture has it in stock, in Wisconsin, as soon as they ship it, I will get it 2 or 3 days tops. The eta was the 18th at the latest. Then later on that day on the 15th i get a email saying it will be the 20th for the o ring. As of the 17th now (12 days after I placed my order) I still dont have my parts, the instock items, still in transit. Bottom line is it took them 10 days to ship my instock parts(which I still as of right now 12 days later still dont have and they continually lied about the ship date of their out of stock parts. Lesson learned pay a little more and get what you need. My boat has been broke down now over half a month for a simple sea pump. I ordered the infamous o ring from crowley (who didnt have it in stock) but even so they shipped it direct from the manufacture within hours, it will probably come before my parts from here.

Hi Matt,

Thank you for reaching out to discuss your concerns with us. I've sent you a direct message to request your order number so I can provide you with some further insight. Based on a ship date of 9/14, your in-stock parts should be arriving any day now. I'm very sorry Mercury has caused a delay on that o-ring. Even with something so small as an o-ring, unfortunately sometimes the manufacturer will move slower than expected with out of stock parts that need to be cross-shipped. We hate this as much as you do. Crowley Marine -- and every other OEM parts provider, including your local dealer -- uses the same ordering process/database as Boats.net to acquire OEM parts direct from the manufacturer, so, unfortunately, in this scenario they will encounter the same delays with the o-ring as we have. I do wish the o-ring lightspeed getting to you!

Once I have your order number I can escalate this issue to a customer care representative for further investigation. We appreciate the feedback.

Best,
Chelsea B.

Hi Garret,

We are sorry to hear that your order was delayed. Unfortunately, even with expedited shipping when parts are delayed by the shipping company, there isn't that much that we can do to speed up your order. We hope you will give us another chance, 95% of the orders we ship arrive within 1-3 business days so we hope you will understand that this is very rare and won't happen again.

I placed an order on 4/10. There were two shipping options offered... 2-5 Day and a more expensive 1-3 Day option. I needed the product fairly quickly so I selected the more expensive option. After I checked out and submitted payment, I received a confirmation with the following message:

"Important Message Like many companies, we are also taking steps to ensure the health and safety of our employees and customers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to school closings as well as steps we are taking out of an abundance of caution, your shipment may be delayed 2 or 3 business days. The team at Boats.net would like to thank our loyal customers for their ongoing support and we appreciate your patience during this extraordinary time."

Should this have not been displayed on the order page? I emailed customer service and their response was nothing but excuses. They did not offer me a shipping refund what so ever.

It is now 4/16, and my item still has not arrived. Oh well... live in learn. Never again!

Hello Italo,

Thank you for writing us. I will send you a direct message to get your order number. We are happy to work with you to make the situation right. Like all companies caught in the midst of this unforeseen pandemic, we are doing our best to get products shipped out as quickly as possible. Currently Amazon has a two week shipping delay on all non-essential medical items; we're proud to only be delayed by 3-4 days for items that are not backordered. We are making every effort to be as transparent about estimated shipping and arrival dates as possible. To improve communication about our COVID extended ship time, on April 6 we added a pop-up to make customers aware of COVID-related shipping delays. This messaging appears as you are checking out, specifically when you hit the "shipping" portion of the checkout.

Sincere apologies that this transaction felt frustrating for you. We're all feeling a little frustrated with the compromises that COVID-19 is forcing us to make, but we're hoping if we continue to work together and remain patient the virus will quickly pass so we can get back to normal life as quickly as possible.

Hope to hear from you in response to my direct message.

Ordered a few items trying to get ready for the boating season. Unfortunately, my items were continuously delayed despite being supposedly "in stock" when I purchased them. Customer service has been extremely difficult to even connect with, and totally unable to provide simple information about my orders. I have tried calling and using the online chat. I've been told "Jonathan" would call me back with info... nothing. I've been on the online chat multiple times with "Tyler", who promised me an email response which never came. Chats randomly ended even 30mins into them with no answers - never had this poor an experience with any purchase like this. Really disturbing.

Tip for consumers:
Be extremely wary of items listed as in-stock, availability dates slip

From the business

Boats.net is your one-stop destination for the best price on OEM outboard parts online. We sell Genuine parts for all boat engines -- from small 9.9hp portable outboards to big offshore 200HP powerhouses -- and we carry all the top brands including Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, Mercury, Evinrude, Johnson and Tohatsu. We also sell aftermarket accessories, as well as parts for Inboard and I/O engines, PWCs, generators.

Business History

In 1999, Outdoor Network Chairman and Founder, Tom D’Azevedo, walked into his local marine dealership intending to leave with a new boat and left owning the entire dealership instead. In Tom’s own words: “I came in to shop and the experience I had at that dealership was so frustrating, I suggested the owner sell it to someone that can run it right; and that’s exactly what he did!” Tom ended his retirement early and took the Central Florida Yamaha dealership purchase personally. Dealership employees were trained to put customer experience first, and Tom himself began investing in the purchase of overstocked inventory to offer aftermarket and original manufacturer parts at prices below retail. With the purchase of that dealership, Tom began working to create the dream retail experience where customers are treated like family, and no one pays full price; principles that still drive the Outdoor Network family of brands today. Boats.net works hand-in-hand with our marine and dealerships to deliver millions of genuine Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Mercury, Sea Doo and Evinrude parts directly to customers with no middleman to slow things down. We’re also a Yamaha Five-Star dealer, where we’ve been selected best-in-class every year since 2002.
