How could you not love love love barnesandnobles.com? It's exactly like the store but usually offers more discounts on individual books.

“Nook sales person”

Just found out my favorite person at BN Fort Worth Hulen location was let go. Can't believe the company would let such an asset go. Michael Massey has been there for me since I bought my first Nook. I've stayed with Nook because of the customer service he provided. If he needed to be disciplined seems you could have found a better way. BN will surely be hurt by these actions. Even now as I write this Kindle is looking better to me. Jean H

It's not indicated in the "$25 membership agreement" that book rentals are not included to get the free shipping. Plus "1-3 days express shipping" is not guaranteed. I called & they gave me different answers about their cancellation policy. They also tax you for books unlike other websites!

Although they said they had titles in stock, they waited nearly two weeks to tell me they didn't actually have one of the cd's I had ordered. I had purchased a group of cd's with a Cyber Monday special and by the time they got around to telling me they weren't going to sell me the Christmas present for my husband, there weren't any similar deals left. My requests for at least a voucher that would give me the same free shipping I had with the group order were totally ignored. Never buying from them again---ALWAYS stick to Amazon!

Hatever you do, don't buy anything here. I ordered a Flux Capacitor before Christmas and coming up on New Years and these people have sent the item to the wrong address THREE times. I have called and when I give them my correct address they repeat it wrong! What kind of world is this, when customer service or shipping can't even get an address correct Will NEVER buy here again!

Ordered book for delivery 12/22/17 as Christmas gift. BN.com doesn't have book in stock, don't have any idea when or if they'll have the book back in stock, but they REFUSE to cancel the order. Evidently their policy is once the order goes to warehouse, even if they don't have it in stock and can't fulfill the order, they won't cancel the order - it sits there until they get the book no matter if it's days, weeks, or months, but they REFUSE to cancel it. UPDATE: 12/26/17 and BN.com still REFUSES to cancel this order even though they still don't have the book in stock. Unbelievable that a company can do this to a customer when they can't fulfill the order and still don't know when or if it'll be in stock.

Tip for consumers:
Don't order from BN.com because even if they don't have the book and the order has reached their warehouse, it's still listed as "released" (even though they don't have the book and can't fulfill the order) and they won't cancel the order.

Awful customer service. Took 3 phone calls and 50 minutes to have them tell me they did not know how to email the gift card I ordered online as a Christmas present. Then they told me I could just cancel the order. Really?! They have the order number and receipt. Do not waste your time with these people. The problem is still not fixed.

Barnes & Noble needs to go the way of other booksellers. Their customer service is akin to (and probably handled by) that Infernal Revenue "Service". Be warned that their sales tax estimate is just that - an ESTIMATE. They charge sales tax on EVERYTHING; gift wrapping I can understand but they also charge sales tax ON POSTAGE! Just try and deal with their customer service "chat helpers"( like Kristine Lucille) and be prepared to waste half an hour or longer and still receive NO HELP!

Stay away at all cost.
Order cancelled without my consent after a week+ of waiting (their online policy lists that they don't cancel unless I approve...)

Never done a online business whose online site shows the item in stock and yet they don't ship them out for a week and then notify buyer that they don't have the item to ship out.

Their online shopping site still says this item in stock and ships in 24 hours... total scam.

Total scam crap $#*! website, I had to call to speak to a supervisor three times regarding a order they say is back ordered. On their site it shows the item ships within 24 hours I can't understand the delay and they are trying to go around telling me what the site says is contradictory to what is going on with the store. The supervisors are completely rude and their only solution is that I should sit on my hands and just wait until they get the inventory in. Oh yeah and more thing if you become a member don't expect 1-3 express shipping which they advertise as one of the perks of membership. I got my items shipped by a hack company called argix direct which takes a week for them to delivery my items. I have had minor problems with amazon, but nothing compares to this, amazon gets me my items within the time frame they tell me they are going to get them to me in them, and if the chance their is any delay with the shipment they are usually very apologetic and compensate me for it. Don't waste a dime on their membership or waste your time on their site, spend the money and get amazon.com prime and you will be happy you saved yourself the headache!

My experience has been really bad. This is the second time that I this year that I have ordered books from bn.com and I have had issues receiving the books both times. I have items shipped to my house all the time and these are the only packages that i seem to have issues with. The first time, customer service was really good about helping me with the issue and getting the books resent, but this time they informed me that it is my issue and I have to deal with the post office. I am not at all happy with the experience and I do not forsee me ever using their site again for shopping.

And they ask why Barnes & Noble is failing. I wanted to buy the "Essential Elements 2000: Comprehensive Band Method: B Flat Clarinet Book 1" for my daughter.

I typed in "essential elements 2000 for Clarinet" in Amazon.com and it came up with a list of 51 results out of which the very first one and the one after that was the one I wanted (I needed Book 1) - these 2 were followed by 2 more results for Book 2 and then a whole page of other clarinet results (for the same book, but listed with slight variations because they were from 3rd party sellers).

I decided to do the same thing at Barnes & Noble. This time, I got 71 results out of which 30 were on the first page. Now the way they were listed, the only part I could see was "Essential Elements 2000 for..." on most of the 30. I had to mouse-over to see the entire description. Fine, no biggie right? Guess what, the clarinet books were #10 (book 2) and #13 (book 1) respectively. Also, they were not listed that way - they were listed as BB Bass Clarinet and BB Clarinet. What was the rest of the stuff on the first page you ask? The very first was Violin Book2, followed by Flute and then Viola Book2. Why in the world would you show me those when I was searching for a Clarinet book? Ok, now B&N DOES NOT have the book in stock - it is only available from 3rd party sellers. So, the store that ONLY sells books does not have a book in stock?

You can imagine the end result - I ordered from Amazon, got 2-day shipping and it will be here Monday. Amazon - Woohoo, Barnes & Noble - FAIL!
