Every time I use them, I do not sign up for continual membership or so I think.
When you try to cancel it is like trying to make a visit to the Pope.
I am so sick of them... If you care about where your money is spent do not use this site.
Since you have changed the format for the printable cards it is so user unfriendly I just give up. I have used your and American Greetings site for years now and the new format is awful to work with and having to change the settings in my browser just to get a card centered is ridiculous. I find everything about the new format user unfriendly and less easy options to change text wording and size limitations that were never there before and it all just never prints out right. I will not be renewing my subscription unless you improve your card formatting in the next couple of months. Why you would change the original site and format when it worked so well is beyond me and you replaced it with a far inferior and complex format. Shirley Spiteri, Canada
Year subscription will be charged to your credit card. No way to call and speak to customer service. No reply to inquires through email. To cancel call your credit card company and have them issue new number to stop automatic payment. Read all fine print with this business. Use a gift card type credit card that's for one time use to avoid the yearly subscription fee. Use Jib Jab they have excellent customer service.
I am usually a pretty savvy consumer but I ended up with a membership when I only actually bought a card. I would not have even known about it if I did not keep an eye on my bank account. There, I noticed the withdrawals for a membership I did not request. I got nothing but attitude and "tough luck" answers when I questioned the fees and demanded cancellation. So, I informed them I would do everything I could to alert other consumers. That is what I am doing. Stay away and find other ecard sites.
I sent one anniversary card six years ago. I missed the fine print about auto renewal, and didn't see any receipts from PayPal until today. By now that anniversary card has cost me 30 bucks!
I called and spoke with Sherry who was very pleasant, professional, courteous- & who canceled my account but regretfully informed me that all fees were nonrefundable. The people she works four have quite a racket going!
This site offers free trial, but takes your details and at the end uses these to take payment for a full membership. If youre not paying attention, or have a good spam filter, you will not receive emails to say this is what the are doing. If like me you realize this months, or years down the line, you will of course try to cancel or prevent any further payments being taken. The site and telephone system does everything in its power to prevent this, missing links, info you cannot give as you never had to submit in your registration etc. It has set you up for auto renewal then made it impossible to get in contact to stop the renewal. Im appalled and disgusted - the cutsey card image of this site hides a really nasty underbelly of fraud by stealth.
I signed up for a a free trial free period only to discover that they have taken money from my card even though I cancelled within two days of the free five day trial. I am now going to have to cancel my credit my card as the only safe way to close this down.
Don't go near them.
Please do not sign up for a subscription with this company. As other reviewers have noted they intentionally make it difficult to cancel the subscription. Every month for 5 months now I am continuing to be charged the monthly subscription and every month I log into the account and hit cancel subscription. Please do yourself a favor and use a different company.
SO frustrated with Blue Mountain. I have cancelled many times (you have to clic through about 5 pages to cancel completely) and it still charges me monthly! Its like I never even cancelled in the first place. They do not offer refunds. What a scam. Do not reccomend!
I cancelled my membership within the free trial period and Blue Mountain still took not one but TWO payments at the end of the trial! I've contacted Blue Mountain multiple times to cancel the membership and remove payment details and request the addional payment back. Apparently it's non refundable! Do not use this company - they steal your money with multiple unauthorised payments!
I've used Blue Mountain eCards 4 years and have never had any problems. I don't know what those other reviewers are talking about. I send my cards to all my family and many friends.
Thanks Blue Mountain
Don't subscribe! I tried canceling twice and they kept charging me! I called and they gave me a song and dance about a three step cancellation process. No reputable company makes it that difficult to cancel a membership.
I wanted to try the free eCards on Blue Mountains - ended up (!) with paying $4.99 for 1 month and auto payment for next month! I was able to use only1 card (very poor collection for my taste). When I tried to cancel - it is quite impossible! When I realize they enroll me in their system - was calling for 4 days - "no customer service is available at this time, please try later". The auto system does not want to understand my name - "sorry, did not get this. Please try again"! BUT - they did not have any problem to sign me up and charge!
I bought a month subscription to send a card to a co-worker. That part worked great. The problems arose when I tried to cancel the subscription. I tried 3 times. Each time I got a confirmation message and email that I had completed my cancelation request. The next month they billed me again. $6.99 a month won't be missed. A company taking my money without my permission and after repeated attempts to stop them infuriates me to no end.
In the end, I finally had to get a new CC to stop the billing. Now, I get CC update requests from Blue Mountain. I give my screen the finger every time.
Checked my cc statement today and saw a annual renewal. NOT even a notice saying I was going to get it. That was two days ago. Tried to cancel. NOT for a year. IS THIS LEAGAL?
I could be dead by then..
Note, when you try to cancel the service, it takes you to a page that says "We're sad to see you go". However if you scroll below the bottom of the screen you will find a "Yes I'll stay" "No I'll cancel button." So your sub is not really cancelled. Once you say NO it takes you to another screen where it makes an annual offer to you. You again have to say no to this in order to cancel. I tried cancelling twice and kept getting charged before I realized this. That is an INTENTIONALLY deceptive business practice.
Read the reviews. Numerous other reviews confirm that the company does not stop the reoccurring charges.
We have cancelled the account three times and the charges still are billed to our credit card.
The only way to cancel is to dispute the charges on your credit card. Perhaps when the Blue Mountain has to spend resources answering the disputes, then they will realize that it is not worth ignoring.
Unacceptable behavior!
I believed the company's explanation of the free trial which states that I would not be billed if I canceled within the trial period (7 days). However, the company billed me the day that I signed up, plus made it a recurring monthly billing. I found out when I saw the charge to my credit card. When I canceled (before the trial period was up) and contacted the company, twice, for a refund, there was no reply.
They will never let you know if you are past due so they can charge you daily interest so you owe more than what you borrowed. Extremely predatory and shady. Will not work with you at all!
Although there's an option to join and have a membership, Blue Mountain offers many FREE ecards that are available without signing up. They have some very beautiful ones and if you search "free ecards" you'll be able to see all the cards you can use and not join or pay for.
Answer: They won't return your money. I am trying to get mine back because they cheated me out of mine on a 7 day free trial but all they tell me is money is not refundable. They just won't auto renew so good luck. Just keep writing to them as I am and hope you can wear them down.
Answer: Yes there is an auto renewal which you need to uncheck or they will keep taking your money. Check on your account it will be there on the payments page just untick the box and hopefully that will work.
