Stay away if you value your belongings and want to spend your money wisely

DO NOT, just do *not* use these people to move your belongings.
They moved my household cross- country. Initially, they were very efficient and seemingly reassuring about time frames, cost, care of my belongings.
Besides issues with improperly packaged items (a big screen television just wrapped in a blanket- it got smashed), breaking off of foot of a antique desk, extra surprise costs at the arrival, (difficult big truck access to my house, so they rented small ones, a large extra cost), a couple of irreplaceable pieces of small furniture went missing along the way as well. Security was completely missing on the loading end as all my belongings were staged in an open public space with no one to watch them. On top of all of this, I have been dealing with a frustrating and ongoing Customer Service experience.
For example:
The website blue lion uses to file claims for damaged and lost goods is NOT user friendly. I wouldn't be surprised if they did this so that people give up filing claims. For almost $700 worth of documented damaged and lost goods they offered me $80. I then complained directly to customer service at Blue lion Moving & Storage. After exchanging emails for a month plus, they suggested they would offer me a little over $300 as a "courtesy" compensation. They warned that the refund would take "a while".
This whole ordeal started SEVEN months ago. I've repeatedly contacted Customer Service who reply in a very curt manner, insisting that they will expedite my refund, that they will 'let me know'. I hear nothing from these people unless I initiate yet another email. This is SO frustrating. Considering the many, many MANY thousands of dollars I spent with them, combined with such an incredible distain for customer service, I am 150% dissatisfied. As a matter of fact, I can't think of anything to recommend these people, except for maybe their ability to bs their customers.
I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I am now writing a yelp review, will follow up with a Google review, and I'm contemplating hiring a lawyer to get this resolved.
FYI: another family moved her large household. The Moving Company was one of the larger, more well-known companies. Not a glitch,not a problem, nothing missing, nothing damaged, the quote given was the amount paid. Plus really lovely employees and a follow up call from Customer Service to see if we were satisfied. It can be done professionally and properly!
