Charges are increasing and its no longer viable to use you. Mostly because you have been charging me inaccurately and renewing my service automatically up to a year before the service is due to expire. Not good practice, and very concerning.
The transfer has been so much easier than my previous host site. I wish I had just originally switched to you guys in the first place and found my forever home! I've waited to switch my other blog because of how horribly it went before I found you guys, but I'll definitely be switching to you guys soon!
Very confusing to set up initially! Already had a domain but it is not showing so I am not sure what I am doing. Too many options, notifications, rabbit holes to go down. REALLY need to hand hold newbies about 1000 x more! Maybe having something more interactive. Filing taxes is easier than doing this. You have got to remember that not everyone is 1-techy and 2-young. I literally do not know the difference in a web host or domain or web designer so I'm lost from the start.
The cost for renewal is opaque when viewed via admin dashboard. There is literally no price, or the ability to change the terms. The only reason I knew the cost or length was a single email saying they will renew for 3 years at an exorbitant cost. This is such a scummy way of doing business. I disabled auto-renew and moved hosts. Do not use bluehost.
Customer service is great and immediate. For the most part, the experience is great, however, I have had issues in the past with logging in, or even being able to do anything. I also don't like how extra things I need to pay for that once were included.
Hi,
Even though I've been writing software for over 40 years I find web site construction quite confusing. Of course I'm coming from real-time embedded and modeling code so it's a very different world, but still I find it baffling and I'm trying to work through it. Trying to navigate around is confusing to.me, it seems like it was written by marketers trying to sell services instead of developers that want to be helpful building a web site. That is a big turn off. I had considered going someplace else but decided to give it more time to see how familiar it becomes.
So far my experience is not that good
The way temporary domains are set up is inefficient and causes problems in terms of a temporary domain in the primary domain slot "counting" as a whole website. This render's 20% of my websites unusable and is a major problem. I am considering asking for a refund
I have absolutely loved Bluehost since switching over. Unfortunately, I can't give 5 stars after the past weekend. All of my sites have been dragging for days and the only real response I'm getting is 'we are working on it.' Patient for now and fingers crossed I will continue to be as impressed as my initial experience.
Our site has been down over a week, Server migration failed, nothing but the run around and empty promises. Locked out of file manager for 5 days on vps server and no access via shared server. No one seems to be able tofix the issue.
I appreciate being able to work on my website through Bluehost without a lot of hassle. Not being a professional web designer it can be frustrating learning your way around. They offer a good service at a reasonable price. Not all that common these days.
The new way to manage domains makes it extremely tedious and time consuming to update the simplest things like the default billing card. Getting help from the chat feature proved to be fruitless as the agent gave incorrect information and couldn't answer a simple question.
The changes that have been made to the account home page and control panel are not intuitive at all. We have our website built on Weebly and it's almost impossible now to find where to log in to work on the website. Everytime I log in, I spend 10 minutes just clicking around trying to find what I need. Terrible design.
I came here to cancel an account I don't even remember signing up for, and i've been sent in circles and through a pretty damn useless chatbot before ever getting the chance to look at my account. Terrible UI design
I've had a basic web site for ten years now. I don't need much... no fancy options. I started out at 5$ a month, and every year they increase my fee, and I need to call in to get it reduced. This has gone on for years. And now I am up to 12$ a month for basic hosting, and they could only reduce it by 15%, so I went bye-bye. It's best to switch up your host every year because they probably all do this.
I don't know where to begin. I am certain that there's a character limit and rehashing it makes my blood pressure to sky high. All I can say is no matter what you may think you need this dog and pony show for I promise you it's not worth it. Go to Google Blogs or get yourself an Etsy shop
After 2 years of great service. Today I found out that my 2 of my websites are down. Also, they are missing from your Hosting section of your hosting panel. It looks like it mysteriously disappeared. I did not remove them. I am on the phone with one of your techs, and they are unsure as well. The site's files are there, they are just not registered in your control panel. Looks like some type of server glitch on your end. I am sure other clients will be calling/email about this problem as well.
The upfront document for guidance is not well-prepared, for example, some passages in the document are strangely duplicated and tutorial videos mentioned in the document cannot be found. Even I asked a staff through the Chat function, he/she only told me to search them myself in YouTube! What a service?!
Very slow website, and after changing the user interface, the experience is not good. When logging in, I should be taken to the account page where I can start the work I logged in for, instead of giving me a promo page, that takes two clicks to get to my account page.
Misleading in pricing... expecting monthly payments not one bulk payment. Not user friendly at all for a new person. Customer Service is rude and condescending. Took a week to fix errors on my account and they still didn't get it done. I did get a full refund of everything I paid for. I do not recommend Bluehost. There are plenty of other similar and cheaper companies to deal with.
I believe that every web hosting company should offer a learning course on how to make their own website because not everyone is a web designers. I have been trying to get my website up and published for months and not once has anyone from bluehost reached out and asked if there is any reason why or if they could help in anyway
Answer: NO - please do not go with Bluehost, it will save you a lot of hassle. They have the worst customer service and take your accounts offline just so you upgrade for more money even though the thresholds were not met. This means they are just running a scam by taking your websites offline and then offering the solution to get them back online by paying more money to them. My websites were down for 6 days and I've lost hundreds of dollars in income, have to pay my developers for all the work they did and NONE of it will be refunded by Bluehost. I migrated everything away from them and they do not even want to refund my sign-up costs. It is a total scam run but incapable and money-grabbing people whereas the CEO of Endurance group Jeff Fox made $10.000.000 in 2019 alone and the CEO of Bluehost Suhaib Zaheer $2.300.000. Be aware you do not get scammed by them, I've warned you. They are an evil company run by people with zero morals. I am going to report their theft to the FTC, BBB, and law enforcement. I will not go down without a fight and they will regret stealing from me and other affiliates as their reputation sinks in the toilet.
