“We are now Mr. And Mrs.!”

Elaine R.
11/14/23

My new husband and I met on Black People Meet three years ago. He had been on the site for awhile, and I had only been on for a short time. I came across his profile and emailed him. It seems that we had a lot in common, and we decided to exchange phone numbers. Eventually, we started to Facetime. In the meantime, I relocated to a new residence, and he came to assist me (we made sure we were both vaccinated, because this was during the Pandemic:-). I guess this was meant to be because we commuted for two years (we lived in different states). As for BPM, we had no problems with the site, yes, there were some unusual and unsavory profiles, but that was when I used the delete button, and the site would warn me about some inappropriate characters, as well. Neither of us had any problem with the payment nor the cancellations of services, once we found one another. All we can say is thank you BPM and we wish others the best in making their love connection!

“Site is full of Felons that play games and waste your time”

Janet G.
3/9/24

I've run across nothing but Felons on this site pretending to want a serious relationship. After giving this one particular guy 6 months of my time thinking we were moving in the right direction of something serious only to be lied to on more than one occasion. Sign up for this site at your own risk it's horrible.

I never signed up for this site, but I have been charged for almost 6 month. I would try contacting them after 4 months they finally answered, said account was canceled but another month and my bank statement says differently. DONT DO IT!

While the subscription is very affordable, the quality of men on this site is very suspect. I have exchanged numbers with a few men and all they want are more pics, text all day long, or talk on the phone. And they send d pics, so ew... I have to start all over again. They expect you to chase them? And what about dating, do men date anymore? I dont know if it's my expectations, women's lack of standards, too many women to choose, so they fade or ghost quickly, they dont want committed relationships.

I'm not a member her but I know many guys that are. Ladys be careful. These men are desperate with low self esteem and self worth. There is a guy with the initial GLS he is a black fat pig. That poses as a handsome friendly guy. On when he is standing up and sucking his stomach in. Lost of these guys move from other states with non visible diseases to stress them and there pain. There are broke as a joke. With the illusion of wealth. Don't be fooled. Drives a black Christler 300: Comes to sex you up and tried to take your money. And when he can't. Will do everything in his power to destroy you. Why th lots of threat to harm you in ever way. Be careful ladies. And men. I believe he is also bi sexual

On line dating sites can be a good option but Ladies be Careful! Im a professional beautiful healthy minded mid aged black women with my own everything. There are some good guys on here with the same qualities mentioned but take your time because one of first ones i replied to ( handsome, has good job, he is educated / articulate, & claimed he wanted a serious relationship on the website) and exchanged phone numbers ended up being a player and ran games after 3-4 weeks. His conversations & encounters started revolving around sex & attempts for it. After talking on phone for 2-3 weeks and then seeing one another ( spending quality time) for additional 3-4 weeks, he sent a final Very Brief text stating he is ending our dating situation and Ghosted me!

BPM is your typical dating site. You will have to pay to send messages back and forth if you find someone you are interested in. I was on the site for about 2 days(March 2017) when I decided to message this beautiful woman and to my amazement she wrote back. We sent messages to each other constantly for about a week before we decided to switch over to kik. We had great conversations and was honest with each other early on. I am happy to report that we are building a solid relationship and she's everything that I ever wanted in a partner. I believe in the law of attraction and she was sent to me via BPM. I could never ask for a better woman to spend my life with!

I have used this now for the 3rd time when I have been single and went on actual dates. My experience here has been much better than Match. I tried POF but that site is full of dead fish and scammers. At this moment I'm getting to know someone, let's see how it turns out. For the record it's not the sites fault... its the customers that are jumping from profile to profile, so take your time if someone is really interested. Good luck

Someone I meet a few years ago reached out to me on bpm and we started seeing each other again and agreed that we would be exclusive so we can see where things go. We Both decided to cancel our profiles. After an amazing weekend together he texted me and called me a $#*!ing liar and he could see that I did not cancel. He would not listen he was convinced and now we no longer speak. I called into customer care and yes, even though I cancelled my profile is still up! Why would they do that! So just a warning if you find someone and make the same agreement just know your profile will still show

All the dating site say the same with the same people and most of the profile are not real and too many people trying to scam. I know the site can't control the scammer but it's too much, that's why honest people just stay away. Plus it cost way to much to be members

While Blackpeoplemeet purpose is to unite people, it is also a scammers dream site. Please beware of 76lovemakerfun. He is a con artist who will not allow to visit him due to the fact he lives at his ex wife's house. He is a fake looking for older white women. Dates multiple women, lies to them and takes money and steals jewelry. He lives in Alabama.

I've been on this site for five months. I have gone out on a lot of dates, however, I've only found interest in one of the guys. Last night, we went out on our 5th date.

In essence, I would say most of the guys were nice, but, I didn't feel a love connection with them. In my opinion, the site is better than Match.com, as they guys are super picky.

Good luck with the site.

Black People Meet feels like many other sites when you start, but disappointment can set in pretty quickly.
For instance, I was often given alleged "matches" that were quite far from my chosen criteria, including 20 years younger than what I was looking for, and 100 miles further away than I wanted.
Also, there are some technical features which need improvement. A member can log on and do nothing and the site tells others that the member is online, but the person does not respond. You learn that just because someone is listed as being online doesn't mean that the person is actively engaged in using the site. There should be an inactivity shutoff so that someone cannot appear to be online for hours or even days without actively using the site.
Another problem is multiple profiles of the same person. One day, my "Today's Matches" contained 3 profiles which were all from the same person, with identical pictures and text! Evidently when a member forgets his/her profile and cannot access it, it stays "active" even when the person creates a new profile. This is ridiculous!
Another issue is profiles of different people with verbatim verbiage, leading to the conclusion that someone is providing canned phrases, sentences and paragraphs for use by inarticulate people. This is particularly annoying, because I like to see how a person expresses himself, in his own words.
Worse yet, it appears that Black People Meet tries to play Cupid by randomly sending flirts. Many times I have had people respond to flirts they allegedly received from me which I never sent. I NEVER send flirts because they are canned messages and I prefer to express myself in my own words... more honest and gives potential matches more to go on in terms of learning who and what I am...

I am a male writing about Blackpeoplemeet/Blackchristiansmeet sites. Both are connected. My first time on the site I went for the best price per month deal which require subscriber to purchase multiple months at one time. Once you agree to their terms it's contract - a contract is a contract. Last month, still seeking someone I purchased the slightly higher one month only deal, then several days later went into BPM user profile deleting the "automatic" renewal which I didn't ask for, they just defaulted to it. In this way one can be tricked into an ongoing membership.

Anyway, while I can't talk about the men; many of the woman aren't honest about themselves! Some describe themselves as average - yet 4th or fifth picture into their presentation reveal that they are humongous. Others present themselves as young and vibrant - yet when we talked, several of the woman I discovered are decades older. I've blocked two woman users looking for me to invest $ in their dreams, yet I don't know them. Woman - stop taking selfies and other pictures in the bathroom. Tired of seeing bath towels, toilet bowls, shower curtains, soap and toilet tissue rolls. Also, laying across your bed, breast about to come out of your clothes and Kim Kasdashian poses doesn't make a woman appear like a keeper.

BPM with careful discernment has nice people, always the 'best ones are too far away' or on the other side of the country. :) Finally, I'm done with BPM.

Tip for consumers:
When you do use the BPM social meeting site present yourself with focused pictures, with adequate lighting, submit only recent photo, your kids/grand kids shouldn't be in your presentation.

I have been on the site since April 2016 and will be discontinuing my subscription in 2017. It is nice if you want to just get out sometimes to meet people. I have met some nice quality Black men on the site and know of people who actually met their husbands/wives on dating sites, but I have met more jerks than anything on this one (not looking like their picture at all (posting 10 years+ pictures), only wanting sex, lying about their age and situation and just not having their lives in order.) I have also tried eharmony and match and my experience has been other Black people on those sites are looking for the "other" and don't want a relationship with a Black person (I have also heard this from other Black people)

I suggest look up a person on your state court websites, GOOGLE their name, Facebook or Linkedin accounts, background check subscriptions as you ask the important questions. With the internet, it is easy to find out about a person, it just takes some time.

The interface is terrible, I hate the flirts, they serve no purpose and should be removed from the site, along with the automated messages. If a person likes your picture, they should be forced to send a regular email communicating like people should do and not hide behind those stupid automated messages.

I understand they need ads but the ads are all over the place and interfere with the viewing of the site, the algorithms they use need to be updated. Fortunately I have not had problems with being over charged, but have heard that from other people i have met. To me this shows the owners of this site are making money without any effort. I wish they could verify the users. Sadly a lot of people use it so they have no need to do better.

I have been on this site for quite awhile. I have gone out with some nice men and also some crazies. I engage them for two to three weeks in phone conversations before I actually meet them. I have been fooled a few times but not many. I have not met a match yet, but I refuse to settle. I have not had a problem with billing

I thought I met the man of my dreams, only to find out later that he is a con man, serial liar and serial cheater. His name is Antonio Davis from Lithonia Ga. He is diabolic and narcissistic. He disarm you with his charming personality and sweet talk but he is an evil character. Ladies beware of Tony Davis. I would try BPM again, I think there are good men on the site the only problem is making the right connection. I won't give up because of that poisonous apple!

I have been on and off of this site for a couple of years. I have dated several different men and some were really nice guys but no love connection. I have also experienced men who were just on the site for there own gain, but that didn't discouraged me. Within the last year I have been dating a gentleman that I met on the site and hint the word gentleman. My point is sometimes you go through men that are full of the bull but there are some men who are for the right things... You just have to stay positive...

Thank you
Special precious.

Watch out for bushwacker505. He is a narcissist, totally absorbed in self. He is the center of his own universe. And people are things to be used, an object. Once he has no more use for you, he is gone. He is a liar on his profile, he's 62, married, and dangerous. His true colors will appear. He is an on-line predator who meets good and decent women to use. He is known to have been on numerous dating sites at the same time, using another name: blackpeoplemeet, blacksingles, match.com; blackchristiansmeet; ourtime, and christianmingles to name a few. This is a warning ladies. Please beware. He may say he's a pilot instructor (NOT), owns a boat, RV (NOT), houses/property (NOT). He goes by the name Gene, Eugene, Lawrence and various other alias. Dont' become a victim. Signed, Your guardian angel.

I dated a guy by Doctorlove from Boston Ma. Turns out he was abusive and had a record. He prefers to text then talk. This guy has issues. Beware! He loves to go back and forth to Brighton Ma to secretly have sex with his BM. When I did find out it was because she gave him an STD. Wow... im not blaming the site. Just the people on there.
