Burger King manager harasses customer for bad review on assistant manager
October 31, 2024

Today, (10/31/2024), at 6:13 PM, I made a purchase at your Burger King location at ******* SW 40th Street, Miami Florida, only to harassed by Johnny Guzman, concerning a bad review I left his new assistant manager a couple weeks ago. (See, below)

"The location has a manager named Joe (Gonzalez; from what he told me). He is new at this location. Today I used my app to order free French fries and the fish sandwich. The app sent through only the order for the fish sandwich and the fries which the app gives for free if I purchase $1 did not get put through. The person taking the order indicated I would have to speak to the manager... the guy called Joe. I tried explaining what happened to Joe but after three attempts I asked if he wanted me to draw a picture because he just was not getting it or simply playing stupid. Simply put, I wanted exactly what I paid for or I wanted the purchase voided. Joe tells me he can't reverse the charges so I told him just give me what I paid in cash... no harm no foul. He told me all he was going to give me was a fish sandwich irrespective of what I had explained to him. So my conclusion here is this poor excuse for a manager which doesn't know how to communicate too well, much less how to navigate through simple issues (created by the Burger King App) with regular customers, is going to have me become a regular at McDonald's which is one block away.
And you wonder why this location performance poorly... because the customer service doesn't know about customer retention and how to achieve it.
Joe, go find another job... you are useless here"

Another individual took my order today (he was very professional). As I waited for my order to be prepared, Johnny Guzman appeared in front of me and started addressing me concerning matters related to the review I just quoted above while pointing his finger at me in a threatening manner and trying to "tell" me what to do. I immediately stopped him and told him I'm not a kid, I'm 60 years old and he doesn't get to "tell" me what I'm going to do. As he continued to address me (now in a louder voice) I informed him that I did not give a s*** if he was the manager of the store or Donald Trump, that if he continued to address me that way and it turned personal that "he" was going to have a problem. At which point he told me "this is the last time you can eat here... I'm the manager."
I reminded him that the store was not his (basically that he is an employee) yet I can not get out of my head WHY Burger King hires people that allow the job status to get to their head, particularly the ones that do not have a clue to what customer service really is.
A manager is the key represetative of any Burger King, and to have a Burger King manager demonstrates behavior as described above should be an embarrassment to the corporation itself. Your corporation really needs to review carefully the employees to hire as managers, because they set the standard for the rest of the employees that work there.

ALL THE ABOVE FACTS ARE 100% ACCURATE AND CAN BE VERIFIED BY CORPORATE REVIEW OF THE VIDEO MONITORING SYSTEM EMPLOYEED AT THE STORE

Burger King has some anti earth views!
March 27, 2023

So I get to this BK at 9:10 PM. And because the dining room was closed I had to go through the Drive Thru. This particular Bk I have gone to many times over the last 10 years, being that I manage a Hotel right up the street. Over the years I have spent thousands of dollars on employee lunches etc here. And this is the kind of respect I am shown by some young smart mouth manager who doesn't have a clue what the word respect means! Spending money at this location, that just ended this evening. So as a recent desire to do my part with lessening my carbon footprint. I have decided when making local runs be it to the grocery store, Circle K, or BK etc. That I would do so on my motorized electric scooter. Well I was blown away when the manager refused to take my order when going through the drive through. Puzzled by this I wanted to really try and understand where his logic was here. Or better yet Bk's rational for where this rediculous policy comes from. While not true I told him that my scooter was legally registered etc. Just to see what he would say. And maybe somehow it would help me understand the thinking. He then said if I could show proof of insurance, a valid driver's license, and vehicle registration he would let me order. Now if such requirements were the litmus test to make a purchase at this BK. Keeping in mind this BK is in Maryvalle, Arizona. Then they stand to lose at least 15% of their business, and that's on the low end if requiring customers produce all 3 different types of documents. While a registered vehicle may not be as much of a problem. I can guarantee that for those carrying insurance, and or a valid DL is where things get a little more murky. Not to mention all the ethical issues, and im sure legal issues mas well! Can you imagine if everyone was required to show such proofs before they would take your order?! Because technically I am pretty sure that while not heard of that often. I can only postulate there would be some major civil liberties violations with such nonsensical requirements! And apart from the legal ramifications, how about the ethical ones?! Last I checked global warming is not a farce, though I'm guessing the executive team at BK thinks that it is. I mean who stops someone from placing an order because they are on an electric scooter?!? Oh, and then he also said something to the effect of it being a non motorized vehicle. Which is hardly the case! It very much is an electric motorized scooter that hits 30mph. Lol. No matter will never do business here again, nor anyone I know. I know quite a few people and will definitely do all I can to convince them to go elsewhere for their late night or early day cravings. Oh, and here's my scooter. And yes I partly feel a little guilt by having a gas guzzler. But again I do my part to try and make up for it. Something any corporation in today's day and age should embrace not shun! Lastly ironically I had a gallon a milk, cat food, and some bread and eggs already on board as I had just went to the Food City in the same parking lot. In fact I go here all the time with my scooter which I walk in with me past security and not once have I been hassled. So thank you Food City for being with the times. And shame on you Burger King for giving people trying to help a good cause. And no doubt some who are on a scooter because they are simply to poor to afford a car. Either way shame on you Burger of doesn't support a cleaner environment!

I thought I was a customer?
October 9, 2021

I get it, staffing is crazy hard since COVID19. How many times do I get to go through a fast food drive through and be given sub-par food? So the most recent was Burger King in San Marcos. First let me say, the young lady who worked the window was the epitome of great worker. Smile, sweet, soft spoken but infectiously happy. (Rare today for sure), so I get my order and fries are almost cold, I- burger was cold and thrown together, the other ( these were small burgers) lol I hear Pastor Vic already, shouldn't be there anyway lol), but, my wife will tell you, you can be rude before you serve me my food hot and we can maybe let your attitude slide, However this was sacrilegious to me. I complained- ( to the sweetheart of an employee), I sent the fries back because I didn't know yet the burgers were cold and were suppose to be minus the barbecue sauce. No sauces period. Well she returns with hot fries but now I discover the burgers were cold, wait I forgot- three other customers with large orders were handed their order while I'm waiting for my simple order. I was ahead of all of them. Now, watching how this all went down, I believe my order was handed mistakenly to the folks behind me. Np. It happens, but when I ask why I'm still waiting for my food, should the manager take over and get things straight? Yea me too. I thought so, well I tell them just return my money but I want the manager to do it, not the professional acting sweet employee being thrust into this hail storm
Lol. No, I did not cuss. But clearly irritated. The assistant manager who is MOD that day walks out and barely comes close enough to hand me my money, I asked do I not get an apology? She proceeds to tell me, NO, not after you disrespecting my employee like you did? Sorry sir, I have a long line of customers I have to get back to. Lol I thought I WAS one of those folks lol. I guess after your money is collected, you are on your own? So I call corporate before I even leave the parking lot. Registered a complaint, person on phone agrees with me it was not handled right. Assured me some one will reach out to me within a 24/48 hours to discuss this. Let me ask you, how many believe anyone got back to me? Lol so, I thought let me spare anyone else the craziness at that location. The assistant manager said her name was Angelica, she was dressed professionally, but It was clear she was not happy that day, rude, unprofessional attitude and kept sending her employee out to do her job, and the employee was putting the assistant manager to shame! The location is 35/123 in San Marcos. Do Not use that location because after you pay for your meal, you apparently are no longer a customer. Can anyone say- Retrain! Lol wow. Oh, I noticed there are only 3 stars on that location's rating. Mmm I wonder why?

Does it get any worse!
April 14, 2015

I have been a fan of Burger King since I was a kid since I had fond memories of it, the food was good and the service was good, as well. That has all changed for me now! It started with a series of things, such as slow and apathetic service, meal quality and sometimes, the dining area could have used more attention. Many little things, such as not even asking if we would like ketchup, or just being gloomy, or, speaking in another language in front of American customers (by the way, have these people been documented yet?). One issue that came up was when I came to the counter and the person taking the order was being talked to in Spanish by one of her male coworkers. She smiled and maintained character, though it was hard since the jerk kept talking despite anything else. I think that the little low life has not had any upbringing! She finally got my order and change, all correct. Then I had to wait seven or eight minutes for the damn food. When I got there, I asked for ketchup (something that little miss 'chatterbox' had a hard time doing since she was speaking with the same damned guy again. I got what I wanted, at least I think I did, and went out the door. Fortunately, I looked inside and saw the shock of my life. My french fries had a rechargable 4 quantity, AA battery pack inside. Couldn't believe that one! I went inside and had the thing in my hand. I simply said, "Ah ma'am. This was in my order with the french fries!" I was adamant, but not rude. She simply took them back and said, "Sorry!" How sorry she was is left to question. I simply left and didn't ask for a manager or anything, nor did I make a complaint to corporate either since it probably would've fallen on deaf ears anyway. If not, the very best that would happen is that she'd lose her job. I didn't want that, so I left that one alone. That was over three years ago. From time to time, the service and the food has been rather good, I must admit. However, there were other times that little things did add into the mix. It ranged from the simple things, like the food again (guess it depends on the cook, whatever), knapkins, straws and otherwise often being out, counters that were messy, et cetera. Have had many complaints from others too! That is normally the food, which seems to be a gamble at best. To the fact that sodas have tasted 'moldy'. The service was sub standard and it really, at times, seems that the personnel could care less about their jobs.

If these workers want $15 per hour, they better start proving that they deserve it! If management wants to keep their jobs, they should supervise their employees better (that is why they are called 'supervisors', isn't it?) If the Jardel Corporation wants to remain in business, they had better take this s#*$ seriously! All the damned money they make, a person would figure that they would show some 'tacit concern' at the very least. Guess those fools are too busy trying to relocate in Canada for tax purposes. Burger King is an American business and entity, both. If the trend continues, especially with other fast food chains, then I fear for the quality of life in our country!
