SCAM CRYPTOCURRENCY BROKER
January 11, 2024

DO NOT IGNORE.

I have fallen victim to the BitPlus Capital Scam and I will summarize my experience below.
For anyone still curious about investing, check out my YouTube channel BitPlus Capital Scam (*******@bitpluscapital).

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES INVEST.
OFTEN 1 STAR REVIEWS ARE IGNORED DUE TO THE NUMBER OF 4 & 5 STAR REVIEWS.
I AGREE WITH THE CONSESUS THAT THEY ARE FAKE REVIEWS.

I invested £1000 and my account manager starting trading for me. The initial results looked really good and I was very happy. However, withdrawal requests were ignored. After 4 weeks they informed me that trading will only continue if I invest £10,000 for the minimum package.

This was not what I signed up for so I decided to withdraw my money and close the account. There was no option for the account to remain open and for me to trade independently.

On closing the account I was told 21 BUSINESS days to receive my deposit, and a further 14 BUSINESS days to receive all other earnings.

Long story short, they became harder to contact and after 21 business days there was no refund. Not only this, as my account could no longer be accessed. Thankfully, I saved my new account managers phone number and continued to call until I got an answer. He had to reopen the account and get me to submit my withdrawal again. I believe I received my deposit that same day.

The remainder of the balance is where the scam took place. Strangely, you would think that if they returned the deposit they probably would not be a scam broker. Sadly, I was wrong!

14 business days passed and contacting BitPlus Capital got harder. I phoned on multiple occasions to be told an appointment was booked. The account manager never fulfilled the appointments. Later I noticed my account could not be accessed, again!

I complained and a new account manager contacted me.
They were very apologetic and explained there had been some activity on the account.
Apparently, the previous manager hadn't set the account to close and the balance had increased.
(Looking back now I feel like an idiot believing them, but they act very professionally...)

I was very annoyed to begin with, because my £950 balance became a £25,000 balance.
This meant the 10% owed for trading increased from £95 to £2500.
I refused at first, angry at the increase believing my account was closed and this was an excuse not to send my low earnings of £950.

When I said I would just keep the account open for trading with the money they said it was not possible as now set to close.

When I suggested payments in stages in case it was scam, I was informed this was not possible as the smart contract (a term used in cryptocurrency trading) would only execute the transaction on receiving the 10%.

He "phoned finance" and claimed that they were willing to settle for £1000 due to my bad experience using BitPlus Capital. However, after the £1000 deposit, he claimed that Finance Department needed the full £2500 to initiate the smart contract. I was promised the additional £1500 be returned with the £25,000.

I sent the further £1500 and they claimed more money may be available on my account.
I threatened them with multiple video recordings stating 'trades were no longer ongoing' etc.
These clips will be uploaded to the YouTube channel.
Long story short, this is when they started ignoring emails and phone calls.

For anyone interested, below if the scam method presented to me.
NOTE: alternative cryptocurrency accounts may be used as many are available to them.

- Requested I install 'AnyDesk' on my phone and laptop, a software allowing them control of your computer and phone to setup accounts for scamming.
- Requested I open a 'Coinbase' account (although they had also tried to use Coinpass beforehand but changed company when I was reading the T&Cs in detail).
- Requested I open an Atomic Wallet, where they had "setup the smart contract" for the cryptocurrency transaction.
- You transfer funds from your bank to Coinbase.
- You buy Bitcoin on Coinbase and transfer to Atomic Wallet for the smart contract.
- I don't know how, but the Atomic Wallet software is controlled by BitPlus Capital. When you deposit Bitcoin it automatically sends to their bitcoin address without your input.
- After my initial deposit of £1000 in bitcoin to Atomic Wallet they altered my account to show a value of £26,500 in USDT (note this was fake tokens - but I didn't know they were fake with a value of 0).
- They said the final deposit to match 10% of the balance was required to activate the smart contract. Following this the funds would automatically transfer to my Coinbase account.

The fake value remains in my Atomic Wallet and I was advised to "hide" the fake tokens by Atomic.

I have since read other reviews describing a similar experience in less detail.
My belief is that BitPlus Capital will be trying to perform a major scam with all their customers to bank a substantial amount of money before closing the company. They will likely reopen under a new name in the near future.

I share in detail as there are likely other scam brokers out there to be cautious off.
Be safe out there - and always make sure they send legitimate paper work before initial deposit.
