For professional and amateur historians, students and all those with an interest in Germany.

The actual archive in Koblenz holds over 11 million photographs. The selection currently available on the website http://www.bild.bundesarchiv.de/ includes more than 238,000 of the most important images and the number is growing steadily. The period covered ranges from 1860s to current times including important collections of WW1, Weimar Republic, Third Reich / WW2 and Cold War images. Very interesting and great for research and history assignments.

I find the pictures of Germany in the 1930s especially interesting all the enthusiastic propaganda pictures, but you, the viewer, knows exactly what is going to happen
