I've used bigcommerce for over 6 years and i love there platform. It's super easy to build a website and the control panel is easy to use. I also like there level of customer support just wish they would add more free templates.
We have had one of our smallest stores on BigCommerce for almost ten years. The store is too small to go to the trouble of switching to Shopify (but this will change). Anyway, a couple of days ago, they cut off the store for no payment, and we immediately paid the invoice. Here is the thing: they don´t send out any invoices for you to pay, they don´t send out any reminders, they don´t send out payment failed warnings, nothing. Regardless, even after we paid, the store is still offline. We tried reaching out to them in numerous ways (good luck getting a "support pin" when you can´t access your store). They don´t reply to reviews anywhere, emails, chats, or PayPal claims. Their score on these review platforms, including the BBB, is the worst. I can not imagine this company ever getting new customers! Recommendation: Use Shopify and short BigCommerce stock. Down 80% plus with another 100% to go
I canceled 6 days before the next billing cycle. Today, I was billed again. I called support and they said you have to cancel 48 hours before the next billing cycle. Which it doesn't say this on their website when their selling the service. I said, I canceled 6 days ago. They told me they would look into it and see why I was charged. After searching the internet, this looks like a known problem with this company.

Constant price increases with sub-par offering and service, Because we've invested so much on this platform it would be incredibly costly to start over with Shopify—BC knows this and prices accordingly, holding you up for 25% increases in one year. Avoid.

Shop around—once you’re up with BigCommerce you can be subject to outrageous yearly increases.

I cancelled my account on the same day as the claim their billing cycle started even though it was one day before the end of the month, and they still wouldn't give me a refund. And they were mean about it. Horrible company, avoid them at all costs.
They keep charging me for stores I have repeatedly asked to have canceled. They have also charged me for the same thing more than once a year (SSL certificates). Stay away.
4 months, 5+ support tickets and countless follow ups later - my stores plan still has not been downgraded as requested. Now they have the audacity to suspend my store and tell me that it could possibility be deleted from their records if I dont pay a bill for the higher plan. What terrible customer service. My store was featured on their Showcase page as an example of a great design. Bigcommerce featured my store on their blog multiple times, and even interviewed me personally for an article. I did a Q&A on their forum after they reached out to me. I used to tell everyone about how great Bigcommerce was. What an absolute joke they have now become. Don't set up your business with Bigcommerce - it'll only cause problems later.
