“People, where and what are you all talking about”

Jimmy s.

People, where and what are you all talking about. Everyone of you signed up the same way as I did from a Promotional offer, or a banner you saw like i did on MSN or anything site. The page we all signed up on had a check box on page 1 that said I agree to the terms and conditions., Second part of the process was page 2 that said in bold Print SHOPPING CART 149.99 for 250 bids and 50 free bonus bids... How could you all miss this, or how do you explain why you buy or shop online without being positive about what you want, I love this site and won an XBox and a Mac Mini, and all this bad mouthing hurts sites like this. Where is Consumer Responsibility anymore. I never knew what this was until this year in college when the professor stated why we are in this situation and why People do not take responsibility for what they buy, then complain because of there choices. Its like the housing market you spend and buy and buy and buy and then when poop hits the fan you say darn loan processors should have never approved me its not my fault! Take some responsibility, the 149.99 was clear to me as a student so it should have been clear to anyone else. I saw this link from the BBB from my state and they should be sued for posting there libel without facts they are totally misrepresenting the facts

“When I checked my on line statement I found Bidmacs...”

When I checked my on line statement I found Bidmacs charged me $149.99 without my consent. I just realized that my assumed "free bids for testimony" upon sign-up free membership were charged to my account without even be notice! So I wrote email to my bank to dispute this payment even before I get my bank statement. Also I search the website for contact information then I called the number but no one answered it. (Base on the website people said they have limited source that you can contact with Bidmacs.)

I also thought you could join for free but was duped like everyone else. I've called *******217 and have spoken with Shaunie (today), Bob, Joan and Rustin. My refund has been processed and I'm just waiting on it to show back up to my account. That's some MESS that they charge like this and was just as shocked as all of you were. Just know, they have a fraud department and will track your IP address if you say you "didn't" make the purchase.

I have been promised a refund from them multiple times over the last 2 months. I guess their phones have been ringing off the hook since you can no longer speak to anyone. I contacted the BBB. This dispute can take up to 30 days but
I'm hopefully for a good outcome through them. Don't attempt this site. It
Is a scam!

It's a decent idea but poorly presented and the items for auction are the same and extremely limited. Every time you bid on something it cost you 60 cents.
The customer service people were very nice and refunded my " come on" Visa charge of $ 150- the other reviewers complained about. I tried it for a week, if you have a lot of patience and time you might get some good deals on a few items, but this site is sure to fail if nothing changes, the payoff is fairly low and the effort to win an auction is very high and kind of expensive.

The Bidmacs website is suddenly gone as of today. I was able to contact Wells Fargo yesterday and dispute the $149.99 charge. I also left numerous messages on their answering machine as well as emails. No response. I hope they find them and lock them up for life!

Bidmacs came to me in an e-mail and I do not remember "purchasing" a bidpack for 149.99, but my account was charged November 24,2010. I immediately went into my Wells Fargo branch and they could not reach them by telephone and we could not replicate the path I took.

I have called bidmacs over 1 dozen times and have e-mailed numerous times and they have promised time and again that I would get my refund but they experienced a "systems problem" and then "holidays caused a delay." At one point the customer service rep said that they, "are a 3rd party calling center and they don't actually even work for bidmacs."

Today is January 18,2011 and I still do not have my refund. That's 35 business days. When I call today I have to just leave a message. You can't even talk to a human.

I cancelled my card and my husband is still so mad at me. I feel like a total idiot and have wasted so much time. What a total rip off scam.

I unfortunately made an error and signed up, called them and they said that they would be glad to refund my money, $149.99 that was November 27,2010. I have made at least 15 calls and sent 10 emails in regards to this and NOTHING! It has now been 55 days, and no refund. I work at a bank and I know that they have 30 days to make this right, but I have'nt wanted to cancell my card. This is a terrible business, do not go anywhere near it! I just called for my 16th call, and guess what, they want you to leave your name, phone # and a brief message. I have a message for them!

Same thing happened to me, and I warn people about this stuff all the time! I have called numerous times as soon as I noticed the debit from my checking account, always on hold for over 30 minutes; never get ahold of anyone; emailed them 10 TIMES! Found contact info on their website that GUARANTEED you an answer within 30 minutes; still waiting for a reply 3 hours later. I cannot believe this has happened at all, much less during the holiday season when $149.99 if a lot of money! Threatened them with Attorney and BBB. We'll see what happens...

Just like everyone else I was reviewing this site to see what it was about and I had $149.00 charged to my account, I called and was told the money would be returned to my account within 3 to 5 days, well it is 25 days later and still no refund and when I call back I'm told it will still be 3 to 5 days! Has anyone gotten their money back? Does anyone have any information on how to report this company? Help!

I signed up for this site, thinking I could get a good deal on a computer. Bought their "Chips". Then my login and password won't work when I try to revisit to bid. I have tried to call the toll free # they offer several times but get a message that they are closed for one reason or another each time. I think this site must be a scam.

I have been waiting 2 months for my bank account to be credited for the $149.99 that I did not authorize. It was taken from my account on Nov 29th and today is Jan 28th! I've called twice today and now they have an answering machine that says to leave your name and number. What a JOKE! I guess I need to call my bank and have them work on it for me. I have called 6 times and they always have an excuse as to the reason for the delay in crediting my account. Spoke to a Cory twice who is supposedly the manager, spoke to a Christine, Zach, Rustin, and a Brittany. No return call today after leaving 2 messages. Let me know if any of you got your money back. I wonder what happens if you actually win a bid! Do you get the item or have a hassle with that too.
Pretty damn frustrated!

I had same experience as all of you. This site sucks and I have filed a complaint with BBB and they are trying to get this resolved. My suggestion to all of you is to do the same.My bank wouldn't help out on this since I entered an agreement with Bid_______. I also posted on C/L to warn people of this scam.

I also had the same experience. After two months of promises to return the unauthorized 149.99, I finally called my credit card company and they took the charge off and said they would take care of it.

Right before Thanksgiving I went on this site. As money is tight for x-mas, I thought I might be able to get something for next to nothing. I started with what I thought was an $18.00 bid pack (not a huge investment). All the sudden, the card information that I submitted flashed back onto the screen and I re-entered the same information. I thought I had made a mistake. I reviewed my bank statement the next day and found 2 charges-1 for $18.00, which I had made, and 1 for $149.99 which I absolutely did not make. I called and spoke with 3 different people, Tristan, John, and someone else. I was given a confirmation number (which of course I cannot find) and was told that I would be issued a refund. At that time, they offered 30 free bids just for my trouble. The next time I went, I had no bids even thought I hadn't used them all. I have left several messages for them, and have sent several e-mails. I have gone to the Fraud Dept at my bank and hopefully will get it resolved. I am very frustrated. Now I am going through my cellphone records to find the number that I called to provide to my bank. This is bull!

I would never recommend this site to anyone. The above comments are all true. When you sign up you are automatically charged $149.99! I too supposedly received 50 free bids for signing up. And initially the bids showed, but then after two days of watching, all of a sudden 50 bids were taken away from my account. I emailed them to ask them why, and to date (several weeks later), they have yet to respond. I went on the site a couple of days right around Christmas and there was next to nothing to bid on! (A couple of gift cards). I too am considering a referral to the Better Business Bureau. BEWARE of THIS SITE... it is not what it promises.

I to got burned by bid macs. I bought the $18.00 dollar bid pac and was charged another 149.00. Wich i did not authorize. I have called customer service emailed several times, the site was a pop-up on nov. 23,2010 on Jan. 12th 2011, I finally spoke to a misty who gave me a confirmation number and told me that i would get a refund in 15days well its Feb. 7,2011 and i'm still waiting for a refund. Irelly feel like i was duped i was hoping to get some gifts for the kids when a went for this scam its so true if it looks to good to be true then you should walk away.

I had the exact same experience just this w/e. I think this site took advantage of people shopping around thanksgiving time. I signed up and without knowing it they had charged my acct. Didn't notice the $$ charged at first but received an email confirming a nbr of paid bids plus 50 free bids. I was also under the understanding that initial bids were free. They never responded to my email asking how the bidding worked, and this is before I c/o the $$ being "extracted"from my acct. I should have followed my first instinct to not complete signup once they asked for my credit card # right from the beginning, before any purchasing.
Stay away from them, I don't care how good a deal you could get,

Signed

Not cool at all. I clicked cancel and was not even going to finish registering and up popped some FREE bids. SO... I thought I would go ahead and give it a try and bought $18 worth of bids. Then came across this website and thought I better check my credit card. Sure enough, charged my account $78 for the FREE bids plus the $18 for the ones I bought. Well, I called them and it will take them 3-7 business days to reverse all the charges. I guess I will believe it when I see it but my advice is to NEVER REGISTER ON BIDMACS!

My Niece came in for a visit and wanted to look at a couple sights on Amazon... a screen kept popping up telling her she could bid for free if they would put in basic information. She was on for a short time with me watching... all she did was click the flashing items. It looked like a game. She did not agree to purchase anything. When we got our bill we had a charge for $149.00. I called BIDMACS and was told that the 149.00 was and automatic charge when you agreed to sign up... all she agreed to was using the "free bids". This is a SCAM. I was told that they would send the charge to the dispute department but would probably be rebilled later because we used the bids! Of course she used the bids... we were told they were free on the initial invite! We we looking for cameras and it pulled up. I next contacted our credit card company who acted like he couldn't do anything because we put our information in. This is a major scam. You can contact the FBI Scam unit at *******@ic.fbi.gov

Unauthorized bill to my credit card, after 1 hr on hold, was told would credit the charge in 5-7 bus. Days. DID NOT called again, again 1 hr on hold then told by mgr people are not reading the contract and now allow 15 bus. Days for credit. Will see. My advise, like many others, DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM
