I have been filing with them for the past 3 years and they messed up all my returns. Since I am an international student, I wasn't aware of all the rules around tax returns and hence paid them $30 every year to file my returns. Even though I filled out all information correctly on the portal, they messed up my Name, Dates present in the U. S and didn't even let me know that I had to fill out an additional form 8843 (which I wasn't aware). This year after talking to a friend, I realized they have been doing it all wrong. When I reached out to them, they said they will correct my last 2 years after this years' filing and boy was I stupid to trust them and pay another $30 for this year. As they stopped answering my calls and replying to emails. When I kept calling and emailing, I finally got a response from their agent stating that "Form 8843 has been started only this year in 2020 so we don't need to file for the last years". When I researched online, I saw posts about this form dated back 2012, then I reached out to SprintTax and found out everything that these people were doing wrong. When I conveyed this information to the Best Tax agent, he stated "Because the dates for 2019 and 2018 are on the 2020 form too, we don't have to submit the form for the previous years" when it said clearly on the IRS website that this form is required every year. After multiple back and forth calls, they finally agreed to submit my amendments for previous years and the form 8843. And even though I had all the information updated in their portal, they still made mistakes on my form. Then they sent me an email with the forms and asking me to post these forms myself to the IRS address. When I asked them to mail it as I have them the money to file my taxes, their agent said "IRS does not look at the first and middle name and they they only look at the last name so the correction is not required." They also said "The dates present in the US fields are just a formality and it des not matter if they are incorrect". Honestly, I'm baffled at their response.
I will suggest everyone if you care about filing your taxes correctly and care about having peace in your life at all, then DO NOT FILE WITH THEM. I have not seen any company be so incompetent and the worst customer service ever. Once they get their money, they don't care whether your filing is correct or wrong even though they have stated in their website that once you file with them for one year, it includes the service of corrections to your tax returns for the past 7 years. And they didn't even correct the returns that they filed. They should be naming themselves as WORST TAX FILER!
