WORST EXPRIENCE EVER 2 MONTHS OF CHAOS

This is the worst delivery and customer service experience I have had.

I bought in mid October 2 images on the internet that I wanted to frame. After several framing sites, I came across the Bestcanvas site. The prices were tempting and I liked the finished rendering so I decided to have my 2 images (20 "X16") framed for $ 140 CAD with shipping costs on October 27th.

Until then, everything is going well, I am impatiently awaiting my frames because I had just redone my living room decoration. On November 14th I received my frames but I knew that something was wrong because the box was small. So I open the box and as a matter of fact they only had to print the photos in question.

On November 15th I asked them to say that they only sent me the pictures and not the frames. The same day they told us that they were going to replace them and that if I wanted he could reimburse me in full. I absolutely wanted my frames so I decided to have them replaced.

On November 16 I have the confirmation that they are in production and that as soon as they are ready, I will have a cofirmation of events. I then ask them if they could send me my package in express because it was not my fault if they arrived like this. Unfortunately, they refused because the price I had paid was not enough to send it by express. I was disappointed but hey I give them the benefit of the doubt that it was only a "mistake".

We are December 2 still no email of the famous confirmation of shipment. So I decide to contact them again by email to ask them if I could have the confirmation number to know where my package is.

On December 3rd I finally receive the confirmation to say that a label is created by UPS with the tracking number but they say that my package is only 1lbs (1lbs for 2 frames?) So I still consider the worst. I will still receive the posters. I make sure by email that I have the frames and not the images. They reassure me that the production notes say well with executives.

We are December 13th, now I am waiting for my executives for 1 month and still nothing. I look at my tracking number almost every day to find out if they sent it, but no. I'm starting to get really cranky about always having to speak with a customer service representative, so I STILL send a message to see if there is any development on my package

On the 14th I received a response telling me that they had done some research but that there is no development on the package since they sent it and he apologizes for any problem related to my situation. They ask me to return the address (which I sent the same day) to be sure they typed the correct address and they ask me if I want a replacement or a refund.

Naive as I am I decided to give them a last chance to have them replaced. But I ask them to send them to me by express because I am really unhappy with their service that they offer I have been waiting for quite a long time. And that it happens to me 2 times that I should not even give them another chance.

On December 16th I only receive a message that they will be produced and shipped as possible. And that I will have a confirmation message when everything is ready. Hmmm. No news on my question about express shipping. So I send them a message about express shipping and BAM they refused for the same reason! That at the beginning! I couldn't believe it!. In addition they give me all the explanation of the shipping of productiuon blah blah blah. And they thank me for understanding.

On December 24th I finally receive them... I laughed. The quality is poor
my frame is cheap. The glass is not even the glass it is PLASTIC! $ 140 FOR PLATIC AND THE FRAME... THE FRAME IS CHEAP AND LIGHT LIKE A FEATHER "AND ABOVE ALL A DEFAULT PHOTO AS IF THE IMAGE HAD HANDLED MISTAKE AND IT WAS WRINKLED"

In short, a real waste of time and money. Do not do business with this company.

They sent me a replacement set immediately, turned a 1 star review into a 4. Would I buy again? Yes!

Update: After emailing them and explaining the various problems with my prints, and sending a few pictures, I received a reply within a day, and they shipped me a whole set of reprints, all 10 prints that I ordered. The reprints were fantastic. My original reivew begins below, and and update after recieveing the reprints follows.

Original review: So I initially gave my review 3 stars, but the problems with the prints that I thought I could live with, are just getting more annoying every time I look at the pictures, so I've changed it to 1 star.

First of all, their prices are in Canadian dollars, and there were no additional taxes, duties, or fees besides the invoice from Best Canvas. I paid through Paypal and the invoice was in CAD$. Shipping was through UPS ground and took about 2 weeks, from Florida to Vancouver, BC. Shipping was free because I ordered 10 prints, of varying sizes from 30"x20" up to 40"x30". Its was all fantasy art, so lots of light and dark and colors. Prices were great. The printing itself was pretty good, no issues there.

All my issues are with how it was framed and shipped. I am only completely satisfied with 3 of the 10 prints.

1 of the 10 had one corner where the two wood frame pieces were completely misaligned when nailed together, and so the canvas on top looks stretched and is very noticable, its a completely obvious error, I don't understand how it made it through any kind of quality control, unless their process is completely automated? I don't think so; some idiot stapled this print in place and knew it was $#*!, and let it go.

3 of them were poorly stretch and stapled in one corner, and so they have a bit of a wave in them, very noticeable with the way light hits them.

2 or 3 of them seem like they weren't stretched enough, and are a little loose on the frame.

All 6 of the larger prints, you can see the inside outlined edge of the frames going all the way around. Its mostly just visible on the black and very dark areas of the pictures if they are near the edge. I think that came from shipping, with the smaller prints leaning against the larger prints in the boxes. That's really annoying and draws the eye.

At first, I thought I'd live with most of the imperfections, but the longer I have them, the more displeased I am with them. So I give them 1 star. I wouldn't order again; may as well pay a few dollars more and see if another company will get them right, I don't think someone else could do much worse.

Update: So after contacting them, they immediately said they were sending a full set of reprints. The reprints arrived much quicker than the 1st order, only took about a week. And the prints are fantastic! I have to commend their excellent customer service. I'm very pleased, and knowing that they will so quickly remedy any problems with the prints they ship you, I won't hesitate to order from them again.

Clearly, whoever worked on my new prints was either much better at their job, or knew these were reprints and was far more attentive than whoever worked on the first set. If I had received the 2nd set originally, I would have given 5 stars.

While I originally said that I was satisfied with the print quality, I can now see that the original prints had some color problems that I didn't really notice until I had the new ones side by side; the colors on all 10 were just a little off; skin tone of characters was a little too pink and not flesh colored. But the new ones are perfect.

All 10 were excellently framed and stretched tight on the frame, unlike the 1st batch. Even the ones I thought were ok from the first batch, I can tell are loose compared to the reprints. No frame alignment issues this time either, all frames were nice and flat.

Packaging: A lot more care was taken with packaging the second set, putting cardboard between prints to avoid the prints from leaning on each in transport. I mentioned that many of the originals had pressed against the frames in places, creating creases in the canvas at the inside edge of the frames. Unfortunately, 2 of the reprints still had this imperfection, one very mild and one more noticeable. But I can overlook this, its nowhere near as bad and frequent as before.

All in all, I'm extremely satisfied with the reprints. The customer service response was excellent, and knowing this is how they will respond if I have any problems in the future, I won't hesitate to order from them again. If I had received the great prints the first time, I would have given 5 stars.

Order was suppose to be sent by FedEx Ground in 5-7 Business Days.

On December 14th, TWO WEEKS LATER, I called after NOT RECEIVING the product. They said the order "got lost" in the system and usually they do not ever see the order come through. I felt very frustrated but I tried to calm, I felt like I had been robbed. The gentleman spoke with his supervisor after telling me that it could take about a week to ship to me because the product had just been put through and ordered to print. The supervisor said he would ship it for me PRIORITY in 2 Business Days.

My order at this point hadn't even been printed or shipped, I was so shocked at this lack lustre and ridiculous service. I paid regular shipping costs to have it for my family christmas gift. I emailed on December 17th asking them where my order is and they apologized and said that it would arrive before the christmas holiday. BUT that wasn't the issue or principle of the matter.

The problem is that it isn't here at all, STILL, after almost 3 weeks of waiting.

Today, December 19th, 2012, I called and when I asked about my order, he said "one moment please" and left me on hold for 30 minutes. I hung up and called back and spoke to a different person, she apologized profusely and helped me by giving me a tracking # and told me that my order will be shipped by tonight and has been put under PRIORITY overnight shipping and should arrive by the latest on Friday.

At this point, I am hoping that it arrives but I still haven't received anything yet. I have recently read and seen many more complaints online about this business now and they should not be in Business if they are just taking the consumers money and not delivering a service.

I have complained to the BBB today and many other places in order to not have this happen to someone else and to have justice in this society. This business is not a business, its a scam.
