I see I am not the only one taken in by their scam. I ordered a book from DiscountBookSales.com (DBS) I did not like the way the purchase screens went because they asked a lot of questions that did not seem to be right. I made sure that I removed all check marks and read the TOU. There is no straight foreward mention that you will be signing up for a membership in BestBrandValues MONTHLY service fee ($19.95 a month).
I received an email stating the book is not in stock with an expected date of January 15th 2010. I did not want to wait that long for the book (a savings of $10.00 on this site) and it would be worth it to order this book from a different site. I went to the website as my email stated saying I could cancel my order. I have not found a place to cancel this as of yet so I submitted a "ticket" NO REPLY AS OF YET.
20 minutes "AFTER" my trial subscription had expired I receive an email station my debit card has been charged $19.95 for my membership fee. Hmm a membership fee to bestbrandvalues? A site that I was not on and was NOT mentioned in the terms, I guess that is what they meant by affiliates that I TOOK the CHECK MARK out of that I did NOT want to be a part of.
All in all I have been charged $54.95 for a book that is NOT available and a membership that I TOOK THE CHECK MARK out of as I did not want to belong to a discount MONTHLY club.
This is what should have been on the ORDER PAGE of this lousy scammers website.
**************** WARNING *************
By placing your order for this book you agree to a MONTHLY fee of $19.95 with a company called BestBrandValues.
THey also DO NOT GIVE you the option to create your OWN USER PASSWORD. I would NEVER choose a bunch of random NUMBERS that I would NOT remember.
I wonder if we all have the same "password" of 8 numbers
