You Won't Believe How BAD my Experience Was
April 2, 2022

I had two appointments at the Liberty, MO Beauty Brands on Saturday morning. I scheduled a haircut and a toner, as well as a wax. I had to wait 15 minutes past my appointment time as my stylist was fussing over a ten year old's hair. My stylist "Allison" just dry cut my hair. I asked her if I needed to tone it. She said, "I don't think so." (Isn't it her job to know?" She did not wash or style my hair. I asked her if she was going to wash my hair, and she said in a monotone voice, "I can." I KNOW SHE CAN. I am expecting to hear ABSOLUTLEY. I mean it is a Saturday morning, and I had plans and wanted my hair to look nice. THEN, she has the nerve to ask if I like my hair. HOW CAN I TELL? It needs to be washed and styled. I don't like it. Because lazy "Allison" didn't do her job, I am once again waiting to get my waxing done, while my waxer is drying and styling someone else's hair. Lazy "Allison" was well aware that I had the other appointment but didn't care. She also didn't have any other clients after me, because believe me, I was watching. I asked Sharon at the front desk, WHO IS WONDERFUL, if I needed to specify I wanted my hair washed and styled when making my appointment. She looked shocked and said, "No, I don't think so, they typically do that." Then I told Sharon about "Allison" and Sharon quickly found another person to do my waxing. This woman was great as well. So you think this is the end of story. Nope. So I'm in a room, getting waxed, and a stylist BURSTS into the room, does not knock, has NO IDEA if I'm getting a bikini wax and my business is hanging out, and when that door is open, people in the pedicure chairs can see in the room. So, you think this woman would back out of the room NOPE. She not only comes in the room at full speed, instead of walking around the table I'm lying on, she plows right into the woman who is waxing me, and that woman had to MOVE. She also was babbling about some medium brown she needed, LIKE WHO CARES. GET OUT. So I think once I leave the waxing room, a manager is going to be greeting me with at the very least an apology. NOPE. I get the teenage version of the 3 stooges at the register. They started s$#*!ing when I walked up and when I gave them the mom look, all 3 of them looked down at their shoes. They had a game of chicken going on, because none of them would take my money, talk to me or help me. Finally, one of them did ask if I "was ready." So she lost the game of chicken I guess. She did not ask me how my service was. When I told her no tip on the hair cut, she loudly repeated 3 times, "NO TIP?" That's it. Not, is everything OK? Then she wrote my tip for the waxer on the hair cut ticket. I know there is a labor shortage, but FIVE inadequate employees on a Saturday morning? Beauty Brands needs to drastically reduce their prices if they keep those 5. I feel like "Allison" was discriminating against me because I'm old. She didn't have any trouble styling a 10 year old's hair, but couldn't be bothered with an old woman's hair. She has no business in the customer service business. I feel very discriminated, violated and disrespected by all 5 of those Beauty Brands employees. I've been gone from there for 3 and a half hours, and have not received a call from the manager, who should have been on the floor. 2 people who work there knew how I was treated, and I can't believe they didn't tell their manager this and I've not received a call. Well, gotta go wash my face, get in the shower AGAIN, and wash and style my hair, then put my make-up on AGAIN, and get dressed AGAIN because of lazy "Allison." Hope she has a great day.

Bad Customer Service... Kara and Dimitri
November 17, 2021

So, I purchased over $200 of product during the liter sale. They didn't have four of the products and told me I could exchange them when it came in. They added me to a call back list. Over the next couple of weeks and then months, I continued calling them to ask if all four products were in, so I could do my exchange. Never getting a call back from them I finally stopped in as I was in town and asked if they had three of the four products on hold like I was told the last time. The girl looked and said they had nothing on hold. She went and grabbed the product and we started the process. She got everything rang in and then she needed a manager to adjust the pricing. She came back without the manager and stated that they were unable to do this. I was shocked. I then asked to speak to the manager. I explained to her everything and she was extremely rude and demeaning to me. Told me that if I wanted to purchase these items I would have to pay full price. I was not going to pay full price as I know what I was told. They even looked in their callback book and saw me in there. However, they looked in their callback book and it was noted that they had called me and told me the product was in. I restated I was never called. When I asked you called me in what date it was they didn't have that information. The only thing the manager was say was that it wasn't me, so she didn't know. WOW! In addition, she told me they had a manager's meeting and they would not be exchanging any items from the liter sale. I'm very shocked as why would they have a callback book if they weren't going to let you exchange? I mean they knew I was purchasing from the liter sale! I ended up taking a refund and coming home and reading their 100% satisfaction guarantee. Proceeded to call their main office and leave a message. Proceeded to call their main office the next day and left a message. Also, called back the in-store manager at the Des Moines store named Kara and spoke with her about the 100% guarantee. She said she would talk to someone else and get back to me but she didn't think they could help me. Finally, on the third day I hear from the corporate office. I speak to a person named Dimitri. Dimitri continuously said he was sorry but beyond that he couldn't help me and said he was going to call the store and reiterate their policy. I explained to him that Kara obviously knew the policy but her employees did not. They took zero responsibility and I was offered a $10 coupon. When I asked if the coupon expired he said yes at the end of the year. I told him that this really frustrated me because I'm the customer and I really wasn't getting anything. I stated that I would take my business elsewhere and then he said well then, "I'm not going to send you the coupon, if you're not going to use it." WOW! He really talked to me like that. I told him I didn't think that was appropriate how he spoke to me and his answer was well you told me you weren't going to use it. I told him that was none of his business whether I was going to use it or not and he did not need to talk to me like that. He then went on to say that he didn't call me to argue with me. I was not arguing I was stating that he did nothing for me other than offer an apology but not take any responsibility or offer me anything more than $10 when I just lost $86 worth of hair products. Don't shop there, they don't have a 100% satisfaction guarantee policy that is a lie.
