Got the first box my dog didn't like the treats no problem I just replied to email saying he didn't like the treats but next box similar treats I told them I wanted to cancel they said they would try to pull some strings but no more response I should of read the reviews first a lot of people have had the same problem if you are a reputable company you should honor the request of the customer word of

Bad Service

DON'T GET THIS SERVICE! My dog doesn't play with the toys they send. I get four toys a month and can't cancel the service! I have a load of toys laying around not being used. I can't return them and I can't cancel the service. You are locked in for a year. All this money wasted. My dog wouldn't eat the treats and the powered crap they used to send until I stopped that part of the service. $30-$40 a month for toys and treats that are not being used. WASTE OF MONEY AND WASTE OF TIME!
UPDATE: after reaching out to BarkBox again they agreed to cancel my subscription.

I have been emailing and responding to Bark Box emails stating that I want to cancel my subscription. It is NOT EASY TO CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION. I deleted all my credit card info since I couldn't cancel subscription from "my account" nor the "dashboard". I've been trying for weeks now. I just received another email today that my credit card info needs updated because "my box is packed and ready to ship". It SHOULD be just as easy to cancel as it was to order. I did receive 12 months of boxes and my dog didn't like 90% of treats. She loved the toys but now her toy box is overflowing and I WANT TO CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION! It should not be this hard to cancel!

Literally the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I listed my pet's allergies and still got DEADLY treats. Called them to clarify the allergies, still got horrible treats. Used their online support chat option TWICE and still got horrible treats. All of the toys are useless - I literally got the same toys in like 3 boxes because they had too many of them on hand. AND their gimmick to get you to sign on with a special box is not true. They'll send you whatever they have and when I reached out asking about the EXTRA I paid in order to get the space box they said "sorry. We have maybe one toy from that box. Too bad" and instead of refunds or apologies they tell you to donate any toys or treats your dog can't use - Money is exchanged for goods and services and I get NEITHER if I'm donating everything I paid for? And on top of that, they know their business is so despicable that they WILL NOT ALLOW you to cancel your subscription. I bought a year package for nearly $400 just before the pandemic hit and I'm forever disgusted in this company and how they handle business. I have a new item on my bucket list and it's to see this company fail and then to spit on the ashes of their CEO. I will absolutely be spreading the word as far as humanly possible to ensure no one else suffers like my family did having lost $400 before the pandemic and watching chunks of plastic scented like vanilla arrive in a monthly box next to treats that could kill my animals. I can't voice my anger enough.

We started with just a month to see how the box was. First very disappointed I did not receive the extra toys in the box as I clicked on the redeem offer and it gave me the 1 month option so I thought we would. My dog is had food allergies and cannot have the treats and were still sent. Even though I just signed up for 1 month I receive an email that my next box had shipped. I thought that was off so called and said I had an auto send clicked which I never did as I just wanted to try it. They said there was nothing they could. Do. About and since I thought the best box would be the one that is featured "starwars" My husband was fine with it. We got the most ridiculous girl themed box for my boy pup with a tiny melted pink ice-cream and a tiny ice-cream taco and treats he can not eat forn$40 bucks! RIDICULOUS! A big wast of time and money as i agian have to call. They said oh you just get the first theme that you know about then the rest is a surprise when i asked why we didn't get the starwars. They get you with cute fun stuff you like the first month then crap after that. Beware of this company.

Today I got a box in the mail from Bark Box with dog items in it. However I don't have a dog and I never ordered this item. Already, this has made me suspicious. How did a company I've never heard of get my card, my address, my name, etc. without my having ordered anything from them.

So I contacted them and of course, there is no phone number. There is only a chat option and the whole thing continues to be shady. They are saying they need my credit card information in order to look into the order. If they sent out an order to me, should they not be able to look up the order for themselves, without having me give them my credit card information?

So, I am canceling the order and I suppose taking the hit on this one order, because I am not comfortable giving them my CC information to a company I already suspect of being a scam.

I am on a chat with them now and at this time, after I asked them why they needed my CC information to look into my order, they have stopped communication with me. No more chat person available.

Based on this, more evidence that this company is just a scam.

Barkbox requires an annual up front payment - the reason is that each month your delivery is later, later and later. I WILL NEVER RENEW - Total rip off. Today is the 25th of the month... AND STILL NO DELIVERY. I WILL NOT RENEW. They clearly have too many customers than they can support. I will happily spend my money for my dog elsewhere.

Garbage customer service
July 18, 2022

We received an email on July 8th stating that our box had shipped out. Talking to the representative right now, she gives us a tracking number to look up. This tracking number states that on July 16th, a shipping label was created, but the items were still not in possession yet. How the hell do we get an email 8 days early saying our box has shipped out, but there is currently nothing in the hands of the shipping company. It's now the 18th, and the box is nowhere to be found, and the tracking number still states the label is created, but they're waiting on the items. This woman is still trying to tell us we have a commitment to the 6 month subscription, and she said she wants to "take full responsibility" for everything, but still take our money with no refund. Then, when asked a question about why nothing has shipped, why we have emails saying the box shipped, and why we couldn't get a refund, it took her over 15 minutes to respond to each question. After a 30 minute wait to be able to talk to someone, it took another 45 minutes, and way too many excuses, to finally get the subscription cancelled and a refund given. I'd rather save my time, and sanity, and just go to the nearest pet store

I placed an ordered on Jan. 11,2021. It supposedly shipped on Jan. 13 AND MY PAY PAL ACCOUNT WAS CHARGED. After 5 DAYS waiting for my order to get to USPS, I did an online chat ( no way to get a human on the phone - poor customer service!) They reassured me it was going to get to me. Jan. 22nd came and after NUMEROUS chats, they FINALLY agreed my order was lost and redid it. It supposedly shipped again on Jan. 25th. Here we are on Feb. 3rd, 10 days later, AND I STILL DON'T HAVE MY ORDER! I had to do more chats before Bark Box refunded my money. I can understand one lost order, but TWO are ridiculous, as are the numerous online chats I had to do to get my money back!

I have a 12-month subscription and my boxes have been coming later and later each month and spending more and more time in transit. Because of this, I was debating whether to cancel my auto renewal at the end of the 12 months - which I really didn't want to do because my dog loves the toys and treats, but I was tired of the uncertainty around when our shipments would arrive. I decided to reach out on chat to provide feedback about the shipping and to let the company know I would not be renewing if the shipping issues continued for the remainder of my subscription. I then logged into the app to discover that the agent had canceled my subscription effective immediately. Why? I had been very clear that I was giving feedback, not asking to cancel. I reached out on chat again and couldn't get anyone to respond. Finally, I reached an agent who restarted my 12-month subscription, even though I previously had 3 months left. I then ended up in a back and forth email nightmare with the company trying to get my subscription restored so that it would end when it was originally supposed to - which lead to literally every agent misunderstanding what I was asking and, right after one agent fixed my subscription to end when it was originally supposed to, another one canceled my account a second time after informing me they have no plans to improve their shipping. The only way to receive my next box and all the add-ons in my order was to restart my subscription AGAIN. I'm now back on a 12 month plan instead of having 3 months left, AGAIN, and they didn't even want to honor the free month they had offered me for literally hours of back and forth messages and hassle. I really don't understand this company at all. I've been a great customer, I order a number of add-ons every month, I have a Bright subscription and a food subscription, and yet for some reason, Bark does not seem to want or appreciate my business. A note to anyone who wants to cancel and has been unable to - just tell them you want to give feedback about shipping and they'll cancel you on the spot.

Bad customer service
October 28, 2023

I had a bark box account and everything was great, including customer service whenever i would leave a review that my dog did not like certain toys. One day (after already paying for a box) i was kicked out of my account and contacted customer support to ask if i would still receive that box as i had already paid for it. I created a whole new account but used the same email since my old account had been completely deleted. After talking to someone they said my old account never even existed so no i would not be receiving the box i had already paid for. At this point i wanted to get in contact with someone higher and i received an email a week later that my box was in fact still being shipped and that because of all this confusion my next box would be free. Well next box comes around and i was still charged for it so i contacted them again letting them know it was supposed to be a free box and sent them screenshots of the email and I was refunded. Well now its near the end of the month and my box has not even been shipped out. So yet again i contact them asking why i received a message " We're taking a bit longer than usual to ship your box, we'll make things right if your order doesn't arrive by the end of the month." so i just wanted to know when it would be shipping. The person i talked to said it was guaranteed to be DELIVERED by the 26th. So now its 2 days past the 26th and i still have that same message popping up. So AGAIN I have to contact them to see what is going on. Well this time they tell me basically that my package was never going to be delivered because it was stuck? I asked why i wasn't offered this the week previously and they said replacements didn't come out until today. So they have set out a replacement and I will now be seeing if i actually receive this one. I honestly don't know if i want to continue. My dogs absolutely love the boxes and it makes it easier on me with toys and treats but now its just getting frustrating. Ive also let them know in the monthly reviews at least a few times that my dogs absolutely will not play with the plain rubber toys (unless they are treat dispensers) but that they love the nylon bones and fabric ones and they have not responded or updated that yet. Although my dogs LOVE the different treats they get, i feel like the bags are pretty empty. Of course i dont expect them filled to the tippy top but unless i break the treats into tiny pieces they don't last very long. Overall… im just conflicted on if i should cancel or not simply due to issue after issue but again my dogs do enjoy opening the boxes and playing with toys.
