After loving my job with WAG and losing my car in a accident caused by another driver, I contacted this barbarkclub through LinkedIn because they said I will do walks within the same area vs. crossing the city between walks. No answer. So I sent them an email and someone called me back. Barkbarkclub gives their dog walkers only 55% of the money they charge to their customers or about $9.50 per a 30 min walk. I asked for tips. "Well, they said, the customer can come to the site and leave a tip if they really liked you." One great feature of WAG app is that it makes it easy for customers to leave tips and almost everyone does. But, he added, we want people to stay with us a long time... we also prefer that our walkers have their own car nor just ride their bike." He ended the conversation saying he will call on "Thursday" but he never did. Talking to this company it makes me realized I don't want to work for them. First keeping 50 percent of the money is a rip off, then downplaying tips is not good for the walkers as this keeps you motivated to do a great job, and worst they pay $9.50 but they want to have you a car? Just to have insurance you will need to do 10 dog walks. Seems like sustainable bikes are not good enough for this company. I say barkbarkclub has high demands for their walkers but offers little in return. Would this encourage people to stay long term? Not. Not a chance.
