Time Wasters
February 12, 2019

I run a dog walking business and just received a referral from Bark for a potential client. I paid £35 for the credits to see the customers details. When I called the woman did not want to engage a permanent dog walker at all! Bark were not a bit interested that time wasters use their platform and make no attempt to police this. Have asked for a refund. Save your self time and money!

We're sorry to hear that you did not have success with us. however this is unfortunately the nature of an open lead generation platform such as ours.

All leads are screened by an automated system, and we have a credit return policy which covers any contact details which are not working. We feel this is the fairest system we can have as we are not a commission based system that guarantees work, and only provide contact details for enquiries placed with us.

We cannot provide monetary refunds for used credit packs as we cannot retrieve the marketing we have carried out for your business. We do have a general 1 in 5 conversion rate so we are confident that professionals will achieve a return on investment with us.

I've signed up recently and was offered a discounted credits pack for £28.56. But the I've found out that I was charged 34.56! They told me that the first lead that they gave me was free, but I've actually paid for it. I don't expect to receive responses, not holding my breath. I've just wasted my money.
If, by any miraculous chance, I get any responses and get something useful out of Bark, I promise, I'll leave a different review.

I needed a tree in the garden cutting back.
In prior years I had work done on other trees done by persons who had cold called and was usually left with a feeling that I had not got value for money - quoted prices varied significantly.
I logged a request and received a call that day. The team arrived next morning and carried out the work quickly and efficiently at a reasonable (?) price.

How can you trust a website that feels it is ok to spider the Internet for email addresses and then sending spam to those emails? I received one of those spam emails. The email claimed to have a lead for my business. I do not own a business. I have a personal website about suicide prevention. They say that emails on websites are in the public domain. However, sending them unsolicited commercial email is the definition of spam. The company should be forced out of business for this unethical practice.

David Price and his team arrived promptly and cleared safe area as my weeping willow was overhanging
Mine and several neighbours fences
They took an 6 hours to complete the work as the tree had not been pruned for 30 years.
The difference in the tree was clearly evident and my wife was delighted with the end result.
They were reasonably priced and well worth it. Now I will not have to do the tree again for another 5 years
They were extremely polite and friendly myself and my neighbours.
They used a shredder to take away the off cuts, and thoroughly cleaned up and left the area in a tidy condition.
Thoroughly recommend this company!"

Waste of money

Thought this was too good to be true, signed up on the off chance I was wrong - bad move, Leads are fake, contact is made but then either cancel visits repeatedly or tell you they arent hiring/looking for work, they dont refund money however much you can prove the leads are not genuine - should have followed my instincts, still if this review saves a few other people from making a mistake and lining their pockets its a small victory and a lesson learned

Most leads go nowhere

I've called many leads on this site which are only a few days old and where no one lese has contacted them. Thedo not respond to emails or phone calls. It's clear that they are not serious customers. Just paid another $200 for zero results.

Brilliant site

Came across this site whilst searching for home improvements online. Within a day 1A contracts contacted me to see if I was interested in a free no obligation quote. Sales guy came yesterday, lovely friendly manor, no hard pushy sales talk, gave us a really competitive price which we will defo take up. Definitely saves me a lot of time and effort contacting companies directly. Nice to have someone keen for new business. Great service

John mason from affordable paving scammed me of $10,000. So not use this scammer on bark.com. They will leave you in the lurch. Bark is a dishonest platform. They do nothing for fraud other than offer a pathetic we're sorry I would never commend bark.

As another review has said my experience Bark attracts low paying clients who will rarely if ever respond to offers you make. I would not give them any money again. Even a large agency for example would be better off pumping fun money into something like AdWords or Facebook than paying a premium for (not) pre-qualified leads which are really just people punching buttons to get something that possibly may want for a few quid. Not for professionals, and spammy solicitation approach to get providers on board to begin with, followed by a deluge of poorly filtered e-mails from fake "agents" trying to promote their (not your) skimming business.

Tradespeople AVOID, flowered up scam! Spend your money elsewhere. Joined them a couple months ago as an additional lead source. Without any warning or any information this week they closed my account and refuse to refund unused credits saying they had a serious complaint. When asked what the complaint was, they said they couldn't tell me. I've only quoted 5-6 people from them since joining who I got on well with and bought 2-3 other customer details who never ever responded so am convinced they setup fake profiles to make extra money. We are a professional company and take a complaint very seriously. The fact they don't explain why and just steal your money is shocking. Stay well clear and spend your budget elsewhere.

All of our leads are screened and we have a Credit Return Policy in place to support any professionals who have had an issue with a lead containing incorrect information.

We only ban professionals who breach our Terms of Service either by being abusive to our staff or carrying out a poor standard of work for customers. Once these terms have been breached, we cannot reactivate the account.

Bark was great with finding a photographer for my wedding. We had 2 photographers (not on bark) fall through and were in need of someone to fill the spot with less than a month to go til the big day. We secured a new photographer in less than an hour of posting our request on Bark! We love our photographer. 10/10 recommend

Don't deserve 1 star

I finally read all the negative reviews about this site. After spending 100$'s of dollars and getting nowhere with alleged "prospective clients". Now I know it's a scam. I've sent this particular client info. Followed up. And they "allegedly" responded twice directly to us to contact them. Called and Sent her an email that I'd be available to chat anytime that's convenient for her. NO response. NOW I get another request for info from the same client from Bark. Stating that "no one has responded to Karen yet" use 6 credits to gain access to their info. I'm ALL SET with Bark.com. Everyone else should be as well.
I'll be adding this to the endless list of dissatisfied "professionals" out there. And the BBB.

Poor quality of leads
November 16, 2020

Paid $400 for 10 leads. One had already hired someone when I called, 4 never answered their phone or email, one wanted to chat about her life, 2 maybes but in no hurry and one hire for $80. So all up a pretty poor return. The leads are far too expensive for what they are.

I signed up with Bark for their Get Hired Guarantee policy. I'm extremely disappointed with this. Most leads are definitely fake as both the email and phone numbers don't exist. Out of the 12 leads I contacted ( by email, phone, texting, messaging thorugh the website) only ONE answered a phone call. This lead posted the ad as urgent, hiring immediately. When i called they said oh no, i'm just looking to see what's out there I don't think i'll be hiring any time soon.

I have now emailed customer support several times requesting the get hired guarantee policy (return of all credits) and I feel absolutley helpless. Antonio emailed me back once with completely irrelevant information because he clearly did a cut copy and paste response.

Extremely dissatisfied and as a small business owner, i feel completely taken advantage of.

I see quite good results from Bark. I'm in the accounting /tax field. The key factor, in my experience, is to analyze every "bark" as they call it. One major aspect is the notes. Not only can I see in the notes if the job suits me, but it also shows that the person is honestly looking for this service, not just browsing around and trying out new things... So I usually dismiss those barks without notes, and I do see a high conversion rate, I'd say 1 out of 3. Which makes sense to pay 50 bucks to get a long term client.
