Awebstar is a SCAM
January 2, 2022

Awebstar lack the necessary business know how and integrity to carry out their professional duties and responsibilities as a website developer. During early engagement, Awebstar would promise the sky before signing the contract but deliver peanuts during website development. Soon after receiving the initial payment, Awebstar would request for additional payment for requirements that have been agreed by both parties when signing the contract. If their request is not acceded to, Awebstar would suspend their work and become uncontactable for months. During website development, Awebstar also requires intense handholding and detail design guidance from the Client in order to meet the website requirements. Besides this, Awebstar frequently fails to attend regular progress meetings without informing the client early due to other work commitment or unavailability of manpower resources. Please do NOT engage them for any service or you would regret wasting your time, effort and money. Below is an account of our unpleasant experience of dealing with Awebstar.
The project manager in charge of our project is Rohit Garg, whom we have discussed and negotiated on the requirements of website development and relevant fee to engage Awebstar as the website developer. Being concerned about possible future variation orders, we have explicitly drafted the operational requirements of the website and sent to Awebstar before signing the contract. However, soon after we started the website development, Awebstar submitted a long list of items that would require additional payment. The additional payment requested by Awebstar was three times more than the original contractual amount. We tried to explain that if these items were not included, we could not meet the operational requirements and would not be able to operate the website as a business. After much extended discussion, out of goodwill we agreed with Awebstar on a certain amount of additional payment in order to proceed with the website development. However, to our greatest disappointment, Awebstar soon went uncontactable again for months before replying us that they were unable to meet the website requirements and have decided to abort the project. Eventually, we agreed with Awebstar's proposal to refund half of our payment together with the source code that they have developed so far. However, till today after going after Awebstar for four months, we have not received anything and Rohit Garg informed us that he has since resigned from Awebstar. Now, we are in a dire and helpless situation with little hope of recovering any money, time and effort that we have spent to develop the website with Awebstar.
