I purchased a lifetime subscription for AVS4you Video Converter... or so I thought! I got a new computer for Christmas and I tried to install AVS Video Converter on my new machine it would not accept my license so I contacted them via their online support form and through their email at *******@avs4You.com but, it's been 3 days and they have not responded at all. This is not typical of my past interaction with AVS4You. In the past whenever I had any issues like upgrading a failed hard drive, or re-installing Windows, they've responded very quickly and they provided a new activation code so I could use the program again.
I did a some research, regarding complaints about AVS4You and to my surprise I have found many complaints about them being non-responsive and their so-called lifetime software purchase. It seems their so-called "LIFETIME" offer is for only ONE MACHINE so if you ever have to replace your machine or you need to get another motherboard you will have to purchase a new license. Unfortunately many people do not read the EULA which states the terms of use of their software. Their EULA, (End User Licensing Agreement), in fact states that their software is restricted to use on ONE COMPUTER ONLY.
If you agreed to the EULA, which you have to or you cannot install the software, then they have the law behind them as it is not their responsibility to see to it the people actually READ THE EULA but instead of being straight up about it and telling people to read the EULA, they have chosen to ignore complaints about it. In the mean time you have people like me who feel somewhat deceived, complaining about it anywhere they can. AVS4You is making a bad mistake in my opinion because a bad reputation always catches up to you but they don't seem to care what people are saying about them... this will come back to bite them in the a$$.
Right now they have what appears to be a great deal of 75% off on their bundled software for a "LIFETIME" BUT, it is only a lifetime subscription if you keep it installed on one machine only however, even that is questionable according to many complaints I've read] as it their are many people who claim that it deactivates itself and says you are in violation of their terms of service. So, even if it is installed on the exact same machine FOREVER, their is no guarantee that you will be able to use for a LIFETIME.
What's that old saying... Caveat Emptor..."Let the buyer beware".
