I've been using it audiobooks for about a year now. I miss the unlimited books (2/month is just not enough) but it's still probably the best price per book at the moment. However if I find a site that's cheaper I would probably switch to them (maybe if Audiobooks had a chance to get more free credits).
I cancelled my subscription the day after starting due to not having the author that had been linked to them in a search. I have been charged for two months now, customer service is not doing anything correct this.
Audiobooks.com is a great site! I had a delightful experience with them. They had all the titles I was looking for and their app made it easy to take my book wherever I wanted without losing my place. I also love their competent customer service who responded quickly and effectively to me.
I guess I signed up for a free trial but struggled to download a book. This is not a user friendly website. I ended up paying twice for this stupid website and can only be refunded for one month of it. You need an app to download a book so you can't download a book on the computer, then it has to link up to the phone. It was very confusing. When I tried to explain how I wasn't sure if I even downloaded a book to the costumer service representative she was extremely rude and condescending. I would not recommend this service to anyone.
They aren't AUDIBLE! Tried their trial, the first book the volume wad do low i had to listen with earpods, when i attempted to cancel ( yes, attrmpted) i could not cancel on their web page because there is no option to confirm cancelling. Hmmmm, little shadey, after sever emails, screen shots of the problem snd a slow chat service i hope i am cancelled. Learned my lesson.
I cancelled service with Audiobooks.com in less than a month of having the service as they did not have books I wanted. Several months later I noticed they were still billing my account. Upon calling to address the issue multiple times, they would only refund one month of fees despite the face I did not use any of the monthly credits. The suggestion was I could use the credits anytime. They take back the credit after if you don't use it within 90 days. It's a trap to take your money, not customer service oriented in anyway. If you cancel be sure to follow up within 30 days! I was forced to get my bank involved.
Hi Sharece, I know it's been a while but we'd still like to try and make things right. Please check your PMs for more info.
I was given audiobooks.com as a gift. I wouldn't recommend audiobooks for the following reasons. First, a computer option is not available. Second, there are a limited number of books (many of my first choices were not available). Third, the app works poorly with my books returning to the beginning chapter every time I pause or stop them mid-chapter.
When you try out their membership for free and try to cancel it later, it won't cancel after the first click. That would be OK since it is a big action, but guess what? It won't cancel even after the SECOND click. You need to click it THREE TIMES. Not to mention the last cancel button is quite hidden (LIKE YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO SEE IT). They need to work on their UX/UI design quite a lot because right now it is horrendous and unfortunately DEVIOUS. It could have been remedied by giving a user an immediate option to cancel the subscription without the need to scroll an overwhelming chunk of information.
I absolutely love this app! As a busy single mom with a full time job and a jammed packed evening schedule, I never have time to read! By the time I get into bed at night, I'm too tired to read! Audiobooks has allowed me to read all the books I want to read, the best sellers, popular book club reads, without having to take time out of my schedule. I listen to my audiobooks on my phone in the morning as I'm getting ready for work, in the car to and from work, in the car driving my daughter to all her activities, while sitting at her sports practice, making dinner, etc. While I do love a paperback book, Audiobooks is just so convenient. My only complaint is that there have been a few readers that I haven't loved. One reader kept accenting the wrong words in the sentences and it was terribly annoying. My favorite is when the author reads his/her own book.
They're smart for hiding the cancel membership button from the website. I cannot even find any remove payment method on it. For some reason my visa card is remembered on it and im so frustrated trying to find where the delete account is!
HI Nick, We can help cancel your account. Please check your PMs for more information.
This is a good option to Audible. I like the phone interface better than Audible. It's easier to use, however, I don't like that my book sometimes keeps playing if I answer my phone or that books can't be on a cloud where I can use them on both iPad and iPhone the way Audible does. Audiobooks has good holiday specials and they sometimes have promotional free books.
Not all books are audibles, and the trial offer was not really clear.
I also got a notification from PayPal saying that "$14,95 USD" were charged by Audibles... why are you charging money during a free trial period?
Avoid.
I was billed twice a month for three months. We repeatedly cancelled service and still were billed. I have spoken to their customer service on Navy occasions to get no response. Finally had to put a stop payment on future charges.
Hi Alisha, there might have just been multiple accounts setup in your name and billing info. Please check your PMs for more information.
Audiobooks is awesome! Their customer service is super friendly and super helpful! They have had almost every book that I look for. Most of the new releases I have searched for are there right away. I would recommend Audiobooks to everyone!
Just realized one of my kids ordered a book. He said he cancelled but it was never processed. I was charged 6 months before I realized it. Company refunded me for one month even though it was obvious we didn't use the service. I am furious! Bad company.
Hi Libby, I'm sure we can do better for you. Please check your PMs for more information on how to proceed from here.
When you agree to sign up for the free trial, they immediately try to charge (NOT JUST PLACE A HOLD) for $14.99 on your debit/credit card, even though that legally means they cannot charge until the free trial period ends. It seems users have been complaining about this for years. How both blatantly unethical and illegal. If I had more time, I'd sue them. As it stands though, this is why I have my cards set to manually add new merchants over a certain $ transaction amount...
To my to my surprise there are so many books available on audiobooks. I enjoy that when a new book comes out it is already downloaded onto audiobooks. It's been a pleasure listening to audiobooks as a core about my daily activities.
I travel a lot and listen to Audiobooks in my car. I love the convenience and would hate to take a trip without an Audiobook. I've read the entire Outlander series, which I never would have discovered without this program. There are some technical glitches, such as my book stopping unexpectedly and requiring me to delete and re-download in order to continue listening. However, this problem has not occurred for awhile and may have been worked out by now. Overall, I am happy with Audiobooks.
Audiobooks is without question the best available bookstore online. You can download to your iPod and listen to books while you carry out your daily routine. The selection is extensive and the staff is always very responsive, very courteous, and very professional. I simply cannot give a higher recommendation to any bookstore, online within the cities.
Audiobooks is a piece of sh%t!
I keep getting charge $20 each month and i am a year 12 student who is unemployed and now has $38 in my account. Theyve stolen more than $100 from me and i cancelled my membership months ago! Im so pissed off wtf how do i fix this
