Please all read this email from Atlaschoice before making any bookings through them

Point to note that these are not affiliated with Atlas car rental at all.

I fly to sydney tomorrow for Christmas. I booked through them in early november
This is what i get this morning.

Dear Customer,

I am writing to advise that unfortunately due to exceptional circumstances the Atlas Choice voucher for your upcoming car hire will not be honoured by the car hire company indicated on the voucher.
As a result of this I would advise you to contact the car hire desk in advance to check that a car will be available to you, to confirm the price with them and further confirm how this car should be paid for at the desk or prior to the pickup. If no car is available or the price is not suitable, please may we suggest that you arrange with an alternative supplier urgently as Atlas Choice cannot assist at all in this matter on this occasion. Please note that should you purchase any local extras that are outside the original booking package which have nothing to do with Atlas Choice, that would be at your own discretion and Atlas Choice will not be liable for that.
The contact details for the supplier you had booked with can be found on your voucher.
Once your hire period has completed please contact Atlas Choice at the contact details on the voucher.

You should also contact your credit card company to start chargeback proceedings against Atlas Choice in relation to the total cost of your original booking (including pre-paid extras) which was paid to Atlas Choice as Atlas Choice are currently unable to refund you. Your credit card company should be able to refund faster than Atlas Choice.

If you have purchased Excess Refund as a part of your booking, we recommend that you purchase this online with another provider who specialize in this separately prior to collecting your vehicle as this might be significantly lower cost than paying at the desk.

I must reiterate that Atlas Choice cannot assist in this matter on this occasion.

Please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience that this causes, especially at this time of year.

Turns out im not the only one... they are not going under... their sites are still up and running. I now have to find a hire car in sydney on 23rd december... from $400 to probably $1400... Happy frigging Christmas Atlaschoice... i will be contacting the industry watchdog here in Australia and in the uk along with any other industry regulators and media

BE AWARE.

Arrived at Salzburg A/P at 10am this morning 20th Dec to find our car hire booking with Megga Drive via Atlas Choice had been cancelled due to no payments for over 3 months to any car hire company in Salzburg. Finished up paying another Euro 660 on top of £200 in UK. Will be contacting Trading Standards on return to U. K. F Boulton.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Booking cancelled by Atlas choice at the absolute last minute and I have to contact my credit card company to get a refund. Do not use, Major expense in rebooking and time in seeking a refund through the credit card.

Terrible rental company refused the reservation paid out of pocket twice amount

The rental company refused the prepaid reservation as Atlas choice has not paid there bills according to dollar rental. Ended up spending an hour at the rental counter and paying out of pocket almost twice as much and Atlas choice will not reimburse me for my out of pocket cost and time spent trying to get a vehicle to get to my destination. Do not rent from this company if you want to have a vehicle waiting for you! Beware!

Booking cancelled shortly before trip

It looks like Atlas Choice have gone under. They can't fulfil their commitments and suggest claiming money back from Credit Card provider. Not good news to receive just before travelling to Spain.

They are a scam company. They will take your money and not fulfil the car hire. DO NOT USE.

DO NOT USE. They told me 20 mins ago they cannot fulfil my booking. Due on holiday tomorrow. Now need to re book with another company and try to get my money back!

This company is dishonest and may be criminal.

In January 2016 I booked a car hire for our summer holiday in Italy. I paid a deposit of £50, and subsequently the balance of £330 in July, a month before we traveled. We collected the car and found the local company in Verona to be very good both at collection and return.
However, it now seems that Atlaschoice never passed my payment on to the Italian company who have now (December 2016) charged me for the whole value of the rental - about £400.
Atlaschoice are not answering their phones or e-mails, so they have probably made off with my money - and I expect many other people's as well.
Do not trust these people with your business - I suggest you go direct to the local company and avoid Atlaschoice.

Sixt didn't accept the voucher

Sixt car provider in Dublin refused to accept the voucher from Atlas Choice stating there is something going currently wrong and we do not deal with the Atlas Choice atm.

Same as others in the below comments I had to pay for a car hire once again directly to the car provider.

Reported to the Atlas Choice by emails, tried to reach them by phone, no success no response.

Voucher not accepted

Green Motion had our booking but refused our voucher stating Altaschoice had gone bust and had not paid them so we had to pay again, they suggested contacting our credit card company for a refund. Atlaschoice contacted, promised refund in 3-4 days, no refund after 6 days.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY TO HIRE YOUR CAR " NEVER "

Be warned do not use this company to rent your car. They are in cahoots with $#*!manns in Spain to rip people off with lots of money that takes you months to get back (if ever). 2 months later still no return on my 1000 deposit that should never have been taken in the first place as my rental was only for 4 days. Lo and behold 2 months later the rent a car company $#*!manns have taken more money from my card without my permission as it seems Atlas choice are in financial troubles so the car rental company are trying to recuperate the money from other customers so they are stealing people's money. Under data protection they should not even have kept my credit card number to take more money. Please spread the word get these disgusting companies out of business. If you don't believe me look at Trust pilots reviews on $#*!manns car rental which is who Atlas choice deal with

No customer service contact & still holding our deposit money 2 weeks after returning the car

DO NOT USE! THEY LIE AND HOLD ONTO YOUR MONEY EVEN WHEN YOU HAVE A SIGNED CAR RETURN FORM FROM THEM CONFIRMING THE CAR HAS BEEN RETURNED IN THE CONDITION THEY LEFT IT WITH YOU! We have had a horrific time with Atlas Choice and the car hire company Choice Rent A Car that they broker.

- When the booking was made with Atlas car hire it said to pick up the car full and return empty.

- When we arrived at Choice Rent A Car they told us that we had to collect the car full and return it full, they then told us that we would have to pay a service charge for filling up the car with petrol.

- Firstly, when booking through Atlas Choice there was no mention of having to pay a service fee. Secondly the service fee, as described by the Choice Rent A Car, was to fill up the car with petrol. As we were filling the car up with petrol ourselves and returning it full and presumably the person before us had done the same, why would we be being charged a service fee for a service they do not in fact provide? The agent at Choice Rent A Car agreed that it is a made up fee but said its not his rules and it is his bosses.

- Choice Rent A Cars T&Cs on their site are all in Spanish which I am pretty sure is illegal if you are selling a service to people that do not speak the language! Be warned, there is a UK language button but it doesnt turn their T&Cs to English!

- When we tried to get help from Atlas Choice we just kept getting automated emails. No one was there to help follow up or take responsibility. The initial email they sent stated we collect the car full and return empty yet when we brought the matter p with Atlas Choice that we were being forced to take it full and return full, no one helped rectify the matter or even looked into it.

- We returned the car without any damage on the 13th September and are still waiting to get our deposit back. It is now the 27th of September and they keep fobbing us off that it will be in our account each day, its disgusting!

- Atlas Choice were unhelpful, didn't disclose full details of the local rental companies T&Cs when making the booking of the car (nothing was emailed over when we mad the booking either) and totally shirked responsibility when we tried to contact them while we were away.

- Atlas Choices booking terms conflict with their local suppliers, we have written documentation to support this. They blame each other and no one takes responsibility.

We would never recommend Atlas Car or Choice Rent A Car to anyone and at this point in time we will make it our responsibility to let everyone on every travel website know how unprofessional both companies are.

Tip for consumers:

You will never hear a human voice fro, Atlas Choice, and thy accept responsibility for nothing and add hidden charges siting the companies site they broker which is 1) in Spanish and 2) not made available when making the booking

We used ALTAS Choice while in NZ for the weekend. They seemed good at first and on comparing prices against Budget (our normal car supplier) found they were the same so we decided to give them a go. Upon pick up we received a run down vehicle that had scratches on the exterior, a faulty safety belt in the back seat, a ripped front seat and the back door wouldn't unlock through central locking! Overall we felt there were some areas the company didn't explain to us properly, in particular where exactly in the Airport we collect the vehicle! We had to call the company to get picked up from the airport and taken to our car then for drop off we had to pay an extra $15 to drop it off. We selected Airport pick up and drop off (from the car park as per what budget and every other car hire company does!). Airport Car pick up from the AIRPORT not get picked up and dropped off to a car place 1 minute from the airport. When we dropped it off the representative from their supplier company (Scotties) was extremely rude! When we arrived back into Australia we voiced these concerns over email to Atlas Choice. All We wanted was for them to acknowledge their faults and apologies for a crappy experience but not once have I received this! I have been made to feel like I need to be defensive and that my concerns and complaints are going to be argued until I give in and roll over and accept it. They also gave my complaint to their supplier to deal with and it's as if they're taking no responsibility for their service (or lack of)! We fly twice a month and need car rentals. We will NEVER USE ALTAS CHOICE AGAIN! IT IS THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE DEALT WITH AND TO SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE GO WITH SOMEONE ELSE.

-booked mercedes c class or equivalent for holiday
-told at the pickup desk that they have a mondeo for me as my " c class or equivalent is not available" i protested as this is a full class below what was paid for...
-after protest i asked for free upgrade... they offered bmw 5series BUT i need to pay £107 extra, nearly half of my original rental again! I paid £240 for original rental!)... they said it was 2classes above but on checking its just one class above, i offered £50 but they wouldnt budge
-unacceptable and fraudulent behaviour!
-told them i wont accept that, they then just left me to either accept a mondeo or substantial extra payment for the upgrade
-i asked when is the next same class vehicle coming in... they said 3h at least but they cant guarantee, i could be waiting much longer
-i waited a few hours and checked back, a same class vehicle came in so it wasnt all a desaster...
I was not at all satisfied with the treatment and the fraudulent attitude. I also wasted that whole afternoon of my holiday... so atlas choice contacted the rental company who came back with the message below, i add my response too!

We have now gathered all information about this case.

We have to apologize for any inconveniences the customer had at time of pick up.

As we can see the customer booked the car category FDAR and received a FDAR (BMW 420D). BMW 420D will be a PDAR in future so that the customer was given an upgrade for free.

As you can see on the final invoice the customer had to pay for cross border fee only.

Are you serious with this response?
So the fact that i came to the counter and was told i have a mondeo when i booked a mercedes or similar is completely ignored?
The fact i had to barter and insist on my rights at the counter and be delayed for over 3h is irrelevant?
I eventually received a bmw420 because i stood up for what i booked, i put up with arguments and wasted time! I got what i booked for... Should i be thankful? I dont care if the bmw420 will eventually be a class above, thats irrelevant to me... I dont consider this a propper apology from the rental company and i stand by my statements that they are crooks and tried to defraud me... I WILL MAKE SURE SOCIAL NETWORKS KNOW THIS!
