Delivery is a nightmare!
September 12, 2023

I have never made this type of purchase online and thanks to your company I will never again. I knew when I placed the order it would be a few weeks for delivery which was not a problem until I received the email and text that my delivery would be on 08/31 between 4:00pm & 8:00 pm and I would get a phone call when the truck was 45 minutes out to which I did get a call but it was an hour later to say the truck was approximately 28 miles from my house and had broken down but they were trying to get a Penske truck and would call me back, needless to say I never got a call. I made 3 calls to the trucking company over the next few days and on the last call was told the truck was in NC which made no sense since the truck broke down in SC! The man I spoke to was rude non apologetic and just kept saying the truck was in NC and when I pressed him he told me it would be delivered on 09/13 but couldn't give a time of delivery. I contacted Appliances Connection to complain about the delivery service and to get some clarity as to when I would get my delivery and once again no concrete answer other than to say that they would email the trucking company and me. I did receive an email that I was cc'd on and this time was told it would be end of week or early the next week which is not what the trucking company told me. I emailed back asking about the 09/13 date that I was given and never got a response. I finally receive an automated call on 09/11 that the delivery would be on 09/12 between 10:00am & 2:00pm and I did get an automated call when it was 45 minutes out. The delivery man came in on the side of my house with the appliances and set them in my laundry room, took pictures to show no damages to which I signed off on and left. I go outside to take my trash can to the curb and there was a huge pile of Styrofoam stacked up on the side of my house! I called Appliance's Connection because online it says they remove the packaging, and the first explanation was the customer is required to keep packaging in case something is wrong with the appliance in order to ship it back but when I told the lady on the phone there was no boxes only Styrofoam then she changed the excuse to say that I had to pay for the white glove services which is not what their website says! The basic service for washer and dryer is:
Dryers
Attach dryer feet and level.
Attach the new dryer to 4' dryer cord or flex gas line (Included in Install Kit).
Attach standard venting material (Included in Install Kit).
Remove and dispose of all packaging material.
Washers
Basic Services
Remove shipping restraints, attach feet, and level washer.
Connect new washer to 4' fill hose and drain hose supplied by the manufacturer to existing utilities (Included in Install Kit).
I am a single 60-year-old woman, and not only do I have to pay someone to connect and level these appliances but now I have to take the packaging to the landfill! It's not just about the handling of the delivery but there was no customer care at all! When things go this bad there should at least be genuine care and not some service center BS from a sheet that is being read from. At the very least I should get a concession for the delivery charges and Appliances Connection should rethink how they do their shipping! I will not recommend your company and pray to God that the appliances are better than the service that I have received!

DO NOT do business with this company
August 23, 2023

DREADFUL company. Do not go near them. Here is a copy of my letter to their 'Director of Innovation' to try and resolve a dispute.

Dear Mr Rusnak,

Re Order 1xxxxxxx Appliance Connection

This is a story of your company's incompetency, zero customer service and non existent communication. It will make painful reading.

The order refers to one placed on January 10th for an AGA stove, value $37,862.65

On placing this order I was promised:

-12-16 weeks delivery
-weekly updates by your salesperson 'Douglas L' (more about him later).

Neither materialized.

In fact it took EIGHT months for the order to arrive. During which time I spoke to countless sales people at Appliance Connection trying to ascertain the progress of the order. Every single one of them promised to find out and call me back Not one did so.

Calls and emails to 'Douglas L' were never returned either.

Five, six, seven months went by during which I had to contact AGA in the UK and the AGA care center in the US, to get any form of information about the order. I eventually found out it had arrived in the US before your company did.

Then, as if by magic, 'Douglas L' was back in contact wanting the money! Indeed your billing dept demanded the money by the end of the day 'or we'll ship it back'! I took that as a bad joke.

We paid and were promised delivery and installation by a qualified 'three man' team. When I called to confirm this, one of your sales people told me 'we just delivery to your garage', another did agree delivery and placement of the 1300. Lbs unit would be into our kitchen. (Douglas L had disappeared again by this time, despite emails trying to get this information from him)

Please bear with me, this gets better:

So, delivery day arrives (August 22nd) eight and half months after the order was placed.

The truck arrives with two men (not three), who have no way of moving the two heavy units off the truck, let lone getting them into the kitchen. Luckily I have a tractor with fork lift attachments, so we take them off the truck, put them down outside the back door (the delivery team has gone by this time). Open them up…they are the wrong color!

Another 20 minute wait while I get you through to your sales team, 'Douglas L' is, of course, no where to be found. By this time-as I'm sure you can appreciate-I have had enough of an organization that takes $*******.65 off me, provides the most abysmal service, then after 34 weeks delivers the wrong item.

Now your 'customer service' dept casually informs me that I won't get a refund until the item has been picked up. To be honest after my dealings with your company I am less than confident I will receive a complete refund. The duplicitous nature in which this whole transaction has been undertaken leaves me with a feeling you will find some reason to not pay a 100% refund.

Hence my letter to you:

I would like you to confirm I will receive a full refund, and an apology for the catastrophically appalling service we have had from your company.

I have dealt with some inefficient, unhelpful companies in my time, but yours ranks in the top three. The lack of communication. Let alone knowledge of the AGA product,is unforgivable when selling something at a cost of $37,862.65.

So, please be kind enough to reply confirming a full refund.

Beware
December 30, 2022

I purchased a appliance unit a stackable washer and dryer on November 9,2022. The shipping department that they use did not deliver until December 1 because the first attempt I was told after waiting all day for the delivery that the truck from New Jersey broke down. So I waited the next day no delivery contacted their shipping and delivery service and was told that my address did not show up on their GPS. Then I contacted
Appliance Connection with my complaint and I was told a appointment was scheduled for Dec 1 between 8am-12 p.m. The shipping department only sent one person to bring in my stackable washer and dryer unit he had to bring it up 2 flights of stairwells which I was charged extra. I was charged $29.99 for each 7 steps. Only one person camed to installed the new appliance and remove the old appliance. His named was Abraham he did his best,I ask my husband if he could help him which he did. I also let him know when he was on another step. Unbelievable he had to installed it into a closet so he removed a cord and replace a cord and to get into the closet he rock back and forth and ask for some window cleaner to spray on the floor to slide it in. It did not help so I saw him struggling on getting it in the closet, the drip tray I had in the closet he removed but it still would not slide in so I told him to try cardboard it works for me he did and the installation was finish. But when he left and I placed towels in the unit to wash. I smelled something like burnt tar or burnt rubber. Then it went through cycle and just stop. So I called him up and he said he will let them know that they need to send someone out to look at it.
YFLogistics sent two more people out they had no testers and they thought it was the motor.
So a GE technician had to come out which identified the issue as the water valve was turn off and he needed more then himself to bring the unit out of the closet to fix the bad installation that was done. He submitted me a report and spoke to appliance connection. Then they sent me a email to submit the report to them which I did. I have had 30 emails sent to me from November 9,2022 to December 30,2022.
Here the email I received yesterday

Summary: Service Call

Hello Ortella Brooks,

Per management, they received a reply confirming only the water needs to be turned on and installation can be completed. Due to that reply, request for pickup was declined. We can put in request for installation to be rescheduled but if you would like to return the order for a refund, we will have to put in a request for an RMA since the shipping department has declined the request for pickup and return. Please confirm if you would like us to schedule services to reschedule installation or put in a request to send you an RMA?

Thank you,
Customer Service
I submitted two email one requesting refund and second requesting a reschedule installation.

I also submitted a review with newsweek because they have high ratings and is listed as one of the best online appliance companies.

I will keep you posted.
I only gave the one star rating because there was no less rating to choose.

Respectfully,

Ortella Brooks

Unsupervised customer service employees
December 11, 2022

I placed an order with Appliances Connection on September 08th for a few Fisher and Paykel appliances, Order numbers# 2**************671. A few days later, we were notified that some of the items were backorders and the wait would be for a few more weeks, which was fine.

A few months went by and I was waiting patiently for my backordered products and was already in contact with this company for a few months without any issues, even though I had had many conflicting answers on my orders. I then became in contact with customer service rep Nasheira Walker who seemed to be new on the job in regards of a damaged item. After receiving a faulty product and multiple conflicting answers and delays to my orders, I told her that I was unhappy with how things were being handled by her and told her that I was planning to contact the district attorney's office (where I'm still intending to file a formal complaint). Instead of handling this appropriately, she decided to involve this Santiago person, who then called me on my cellphone and basically threatened me. He called me from the company's number *******078 on Friday Dec 2nd at 1:15pm. He simply threatened me for not liking the way I talked to his sales rep Nasheira and not having the right to say I was going to report the company anywhere and that he'd cancel my order. He kept telling me "We Appliances Connection have the right to cancel your order and we are canceling your order".

He unilaterally canceled my order. I did not wish to cancel the order nor did I agree to it. He also refused to tell me how much I would be refunded after he canceled my order without my consent. I just find it astonishing that a random employee (Santiago) had unilaterally cancelled a large order that had been with the company for a few months. I called the company back in disbelief that a random employee has the authority to call customer cellphones, threaten and cancel their orders.

I also spoke to Nino (manager) from customer service and explained to her that this Santiago guy had called me from their company and canceled my order. I also emailed Irakeil from sales regarding the order being canceled by this guy. I will call Eric Levi on Monday, the general manager, and hopefully we will be able to find a solution internally. Meanwhile, I will take it with BBB, AG and other consumer agencies.

Again, this company customer rep, Santiago, made no effort towards reconciliation and, due to his giant ego, decided he would just impulsively cancel a large order that had been with the company for 4 months. I have dealt with many people at this company and have worked with many other companies in the past. I have never ever been subjected to such a self-centered, incompetent person like this Santiago.
