In March I ordered a GE freezer from Appliances Connection; it was back-ordered, and I received it on May 12th. After the delivery men had left, I discovered that the two set screws and Allen wrench that are required to attach the handle to the door were missing. I immediately called Appliances Connection and requested that they send me the necessary parts. A week or so later, I received ONE set screw. I tried to call again but couldn't get through, so I emailed the AC customer service department and requested another set screw and the Allen wrench. Multiple emails went back and forth, and eventually, I got two Allen wrenches in the mail, one too large and one too small--NO set screw. Many more emails have gone back and forth with me pleading for them to send the set screw and wrench and them saying, "We're looking into it." I can probably find the right size wrench at a local hardware store, but the set screws seem to be unique, specific to the GE freezer I bought. Yesterday, I emailed the customer service department of GE Co. regarding the missing parts, and today they sent me an email identifying the specific screw needed for my model of freezer. It will cost me $30 + tax + shipping if I order it from them, but if Appliances Connection doesn't send the parts soon, I won't have a choice. The freezer cost over $1000; I shouldn't have to pay more to get basic parts that should have been included with it. I've had the freezer almost two months, and the door still doesn't have a handle. That's about as bad as customer service gets.
