Today on springborough Pike restaurant Applebee's my food was not prepared the correct way I sent my wife's food back to be corrected, My food was overcooked, I explain this to my waitress she in turn called a female manager, Who then called another manager named Andrew, While he was trying to rectify the problem with my wife's meal my grandchildren discovered that their food was not done, I began to explain this to the waitress she then went and got Andrew again Andrew approached Our table he began grabbing the food spreading it out it was chicken strips yelling at my wife telling her show me where the food is not done I began to tell him please address me not my wife he began Yelling at me I informed him I needed him to calm down quit disrespecting me in front of my family He began yelling even more before it became an argument hask him what are we going to do about this situation, he instructed me pay the bill and leave, I went to go pay my bill with my waitress I asked her for the corporate number she did not have that number he yelled out his name that is how I know his name is Andrew H. Last name begins with an H. Needless to say my family and I won't be going back to that restaurant and I'm not sure if I really want to go To an Applebee's after that experience It surprised me that he would address my family in that manner, We were dressed in church attire
I wasn't a threat although Andrew H. Illustrated that he was. My grandchildren age 6-15 sufferd in fear for their grand parents safty they said as we drove home. I've been an ordained minister for 27 years and I've never had an encounter such as this
The bar, servers and kitchen staff are AMAZING and RESILIENT for all that they put up with at this location, they get 5-Stars! They are always short-staffed working doubles, having to close early but always treat their customers with smiles and the best service they can. Since 1995, there are a group of regulars who have always stood by this location, it's our local hangout and a place where we have gathered when there was no other place in the old Austin days. But in the last six months new management has taken over and while most are in good standing with the rest of the staff, there is one very distinctive GM that they recently put in place that has the worst attitude toward his staff and customers. No one likes him, he hides in the back, does not support his staff, rude to customers, refuses to run orders, tend bar, and dig in where his staff needs him most. He is unhelpful and would rather disparage staff and customers behind their backs than to provide good service. He hates problems, avoids them or insults those who bring it to him. Feels threatened by questions or anyone who challenges him to answer truthfully and with integrity. The worse GM in the history of GM's. He is running this place into the ground by not managing his people and inventory. They are chronically out of food, beverages, including having milk and juice in-stock for children on the children's menu. How is this an acceptable way to run a restaurant? No one likes him because he talks down to everyone when he does come out of his office. Its really bad and getting worse every day. I hope the Houston Corporate office takes notice of how bad he runs this restaurant while there is still one to run. His name is Abe, beware, if he doesn't like you, if your food or beverage order is wrong. So Abe (1-Star), you thought no one would notice, maybe your corporate office will now since you refused to give me their number. You said go to the website and find it yourself. That's pretty poor and certainly not helpful in problem solving an issue proactively and with concern for customers who take good care of your staff and brings lots of business in the door. You said you will always be the Manager at this location and to take my 25 years of high dollar revenue elsewhere. Well I will and I'm taking bets that I will be here longer in this area, contributing to the workforce and the hospitality industry long after you are gone. I know how to take care of people, to be kind, to be respectful, to take care of good customers and clients, too bad with your seasoned "immaturity" you have yet to learn that lesson. Remember people treat you based on how you treat them, that will never change... I wish the staff who still has to work there well and a better manager in the nearest future...#peaceout #endofanera #takingmybusinesselsewhere #thanksforthe goodoledays #moremoneyfornewstaff #newbusiness #Mopac290Applebeesgoodbye #thestaffwillmissthegoodtips #HoustonAppleesFindANewMgr
