I had an issue w/Ameripath/Dermpath whereby someone along the way had attached a gynecological procedure to my paperwork from the ENT who had submitted paperwork for a thyroid nodule biopsy. This was not discovered until many months later by someone in the accounting dept of Ameripath. In the meantime I was billed almost $4,000 for this procedure! I spent months fighting it... the ENT sent in further paperwork b/c all we knew is that I was being billed for this thyroid biopsy which had been pre-approved. I made phone calls, sent emails, made copies of all sorts of relevant paperwork which I had to mail to various departments until finally this billing agent realized it was a gynecological procedure that an ENT would NEVER have submitted paperwork on. Let me also state that this grievance had been seen by multiple medical personnel (or so I was told) & even sent to an independent medical review board & not one medical person discovered this discrepancy! I received an "oh sorry" email telling me the bill amount had been reversed & I wrote back to their supposed customer relations asking for compensation for what they had put me thru & reimbursement for my out of pocket expenses due to their negligence. THE COMPANY NEVER REPLIED BACK! I then contacted the FL department of consumer services, who on my behalf, contacted them to help in resolving this. THE COMPANY NEVER REPLIED BACK! If you are ever referred to this company for anything medical, ask your doctor & your provider to give you an alternative option. There is NO customer service, they just don't care!
