Besides my own personal history gone I can't even find what I'm looking for. Chef John baked ziti. Gone! No, I can go to YouTube find the video scroll for the all recipes link and get sent back to AR to find the recipe. Dumb. Doable but dumb.
I used and LOVED the app for years! I had all my favorite recipes saved and I went back to it often to be inspired and find new things. Since we were all forced to this website now, I've lost all of my saved recipes and it's difficult to use the recipes. I like to look at the list of ingredients read thru the reviews, etc. Now each recipe reads like an article. I don't want to read all the dribble just to figure out if I want to make the recipe and if I have the ingredients on hand. You have taken one of the best apps there was (and one I told lots of my friends about) and turned it into something I rarely use. Please bring back the app!
I love this site but it isn't perfect. The quantity of recipes is awesome but the site is glitchy, it's overrun with advertisements, and the search feature rarely works as it should. It used to be so much better. If you do manage to get the recipe you're after you have to fight to try to be able to print it without advertisements on top of your directions or ingredients. It's frustrating and annoying. If they'd clean up the website and work on the search feature it could be a five star website for sure.
People very often, that's to say almost always, rate recipes according to changes that they made to the recipe. This is infuriating. If you see a recipe with 5 stars you'd think it is awesome. Then you read all the reviews and see that people really gave their variation of the recipe 5 stars. Not cool people.
Pros: 1) Unlimited amount of recipes in all food areas. 2) An infinite number of reviews/ratings by novices & experts alike. Cons: 1) Cannot comment on a recipe unless you rate it, possibly skewering the ratings. 2) Ratings include those who have altered the original recipe (& most have). 3) Many irritating reviewers that drastically change a recipe, but won't submit their own. 4) Unlike other recipe sites, there is no indicator if a recipe is in the member's recipe box.
AllRecipes does have a graph of each recipe's ratings. However, it would be nice if broke it down to percentages too.
I find this site to be a really great way to get fun new idea's to try making for dinner! I love the site and the app
This is my go to website, which is currently Under Construction. Why in the hell would you close your website down 2 days before thanks giving to upload more recipes. This should have been completed atleast a week ago. More quality meals are cooked tonight and tomorrow than all year long. I really need an oyster dressing recipe and the website is under construction. Bad Timing.
My 35 yr old son turned me on to this site, he's just beginning to cook and finds it easier to follow than a cookbook. He finds it easy to cook 1 meal for himself without too many leftovers. Kudos for intelligent planning of information and ease of reading
I have used it several times and I like it. There are some great recipes on it.
Use this site all the time. Have become a better cook because of it!
Caesar Salad should not have anchovies! The dressing uses Worchestershire Sauce and one of the main ingredients is this sauce is anchovies. The original Cardini Caesar Salad had no anchovies.
Update: This site has become tooo commercialized. Way too many ads and the competition has gotten much better. I have been using other sites that have far less traffic and the recipes are very creative and delicious.
Original: Allrecipes can turn you into the best cook on the block with thousands of recipes from drinks to main dishes and everything in between. So many to choose from and always a recipe for what you have a hankering for. Take my word, you will be surprised at what you can do with the help of this website.
This is very creative area to learn new recipes. I am a dog owner and they have homemade dog food recipes too, and I try to prepare my dog these perfect recipes.
Hi,
I absolutely love the website but unfortunately for some reason I cannot access "My Recipes" box. This has happened 3 times since I have been a member (about Nov/Dec 2010). It is so disappointing as I can't get to the super recipes I have saved and can't save any of the latest ones. Please help! I am using an iPad 1 if it will help. Thanks so much. Helen
This site is great. I can browse different recipes by what meal it is, what food is in it, or my type of food. I can then save the recipes I like in my recipe box. I love to do that so I don't forget the recipes that turn out good or ones that look good from other users. I also love reading the reviews. Sometimes people change the recipes a bit for the better so I love hearing their input.
This is my go to site for recipes. Whenever I run out of ideas for meals I go to this site for fresh ideas. I knocked off one star because I think they are lacking on vegan/vegetarian/healthy recipes but I love everything else about this site. I always read the reviews before trying out the recipes.
Love the recipe ideas on this site, they give me a lot of great inspiration (especially around the holidays!)
Generally, I tweak the recipes a little to suit my tastes and occasionally make them more efficient, but overall it is a great site for relatively simple recipes.
I like this site because it gives me lots of great starting ideas! I like to take the recipes and alter them a bit for the flavor I like. I enjoy the way they organize the site according to the meat and cuts. It makes it so much easier for meal ideas.
Easy and fun recipes for all occasions - This simple and navigable site contains hundreds of thousands of searchable recipes submitted by home cooks (totally doable, even for the kitchen-challenged). You can even search for recipes using specific ingredients if you have random leftover ingredients that you would like to use up.
Very cool is the option of scaling the original recipe yield for the number of servings. They even have a nutritional breakdown for each recipe, a section on similar recipes, downloadable cookbooks (their summer picnic cookbook is pretty good), and an entire section on budget-friendly recipes. I'm a fan of their shopping list feature, where you can save recipes in your recipe box and the site creates a shopping list organized by category (e.g. Produce, meat, dairy, etc.). How convenient.
The best part about this site is that the recipes are reviewed and rated by users, and a sizable proportion of them have creative modification suggestions (to make the end result tastier, healthier, or even better, both!).
I didn't even like lemon bars until I tried these (check out the modification suggested by the second reviewer - it's best with freshly squeezed lemon juice): http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Bake-Sale-Lemon-Bars/Detail.aspx
