Besides my own personal history gone I can't even find what I'm looking for. Chef John baked ziti. Gone! No, I can go to YouTube find the video scroll for the all recipes link and get sent back to AR to find the recipe. Dumb. Doable but dumb.
I used and LOVED the app for years! I had all my favorite recipes saved and I went back to it often to be inspired and find new things. Since we were all forced to this website now, I've lost all of my saved recipes and it's difficult to use the recipes. I like to look at the list of ingredients read thru the reviews, etc. Now each recipe reads like an article. I don't want to read all the dribble just to figure out if I want to make the recipe and if I have the ingredients on hand. You have taken one of the best apps there was (and one I told lots of my friends about) and turned it into something I rarely use. Please bring back the app!
I used to love AllRecipes. All of my family's favourite meals I found on this site. It is still okay on the iPhone, however, the desktop version is awful. The ad at the top takes up 75% of the screen and it does not go away unless you are looking at your account information. You can not see anything of value on the site. It is virtually impossible to now look for new recipes. I will have to look elsewhere for good meals. Such a shame.
This was my 'go to' website for recipes and from which I could learn cooking tips. I could print recipes and helpful comments. Not any more. It was easy to navigate. Not now. And I know it's not just me. Allrecipes used to come up first on a Google search. Doesn't show up at all now and we all know what that means! Too bad! Did Allrecipes' competition buy it out to eliminate it? What other logical explanation can there be? Sigh. Well, on to finding my next favorite recipe website.
I've been an Allrecipes fan for years, till now. I must agree with many of the other reviewers. These changes were not for the better! My biggest beef is that the new web pages will NOT allow me to save any recipes. For me, that was the main attraction to this website. Now, I have to put anything I want to save on to Pinterest. This makes the recipe box rather pointless. I do hope Allrecipes will look at these reviews and take them seriously. - Lizzy R.
That was the best feature along with ability to great collections. Not only were both removed but all of my notes. Am looking for another recipe system.
As the title says, it's a great place for recipes. But what good is that if you can't navigate their terrible website? They recently reformatted the site, and went from bad to much worse. Check it out yourself, you'll see. Ughh. Get it together, webmaster!
I have used AllRecipes for years - it's been my "go to" recipe site - but something happened about 2-3 months ago - when I try to access my profile it appears quite strangley as a top page (almost like what you would see with a pop-up) which is about 1/3 of the page - impossible to read or search. I used to be able to save recipes to a category - dinner, side dishes, summer dishes, etc. - that no longer works. I've tried all my devices think maybe that was the issue - unfortunately no. I've written customer support/technical support multiple occasions - no response. Really disappointed.
This is sad. Allrecipes has been my favorite recipe site for years. I teach a cooking class for high school students and this is where I USED to send them. Not anymore. No longer can you order recipes by rating, and the adjust a recipe doesn't work (at least not for me). So frustrating. I don't even bother looking anymore. Such a shame.
Try 4 respices so far, family and I dislike 3 out of 4.1st was chicken dumettes but turn out very average joe. Then the general tso chicken but we are not a fan of the rice vinegar. Loved the hand pies. Tonight was Mexican stuffed chicken, see pic below. Wasted my money and time. Overseaned and very disappointing. Would NOT recommend Allrecipes.
Not long ago I was able to pull up any type of recipe I wanted in peace. Not anymore with all the sidebar ads YUCK! I was not able to use the ADJUST feature and WHAT? No reviews? WHY?
I am very unhappy with the advertising that pops up when i try to use the site for recipes. It usually takes up half a page and makes reading the recipe almost impossible
What happened to the ADD NOTES feature? I don't see it anymore. Really a big mistake.
NOTE TO USERS- I'm now copying recipes to Notes on my iPad. That way I can adjust and add any notes, and not have to depend on allrecipies site dropping features or going offline. Fyi.
I've had a free membership with allrecipes.com since the early 2000s. I used to print off recipes that I wanted to make and recently made one with a print date of 2007! Once I realized I could create an online recipe box on the site, I started saving recipes to that instead of printing. For the past few years, I've also rated/reviewed recipes and if I decided to make a recipe again, my review would be shown above the other reviews. Consequently, I could immediately see whether I liked or disliked the recipe and why. If I clicked on one of the recipes in allrecipes daily e-mails and decided I might want to make it, I could click the "save" button and it would automatically be saved into my allrecipes recipe box.
I've noticed the last several months that when I pull up a recipe that I've made before and reviewed, my review isn't shown above the other reviews. Consequently, I don't know if I've made it before and, if so, whether I liked/disliked it and why. I can click on "My Reviews" on my allrecipes.com profile page and all the recipes that I've rated/reviewed will come up in reverse chrono order of review date. There's no way to sort these or search for a particular recipe. Since I've reviewed dozens of recipes, the only way to see if I've made and rated a particular recipe is to scroll through "My Reviews" to see if it's there.
I've also noticed in the last few months that if I clicked on one of the e-mailed recipes and then hit the "save" button, nothing happened. This wasn't a one-time occurrence or glitch—it has happened many times so even though the save button is there, it no longer works. The "pin" option was still available so I would pin the recipe to my "Recipes to Make" pinterest board.
Another feature that I liked was the ability to type in my own recipes (and could make public or private--I always chose private). I often clipped recipes from newspapers and had them organized in binders or envelopes until I got around to trying them. Once I learned I could enter recipes to my allrecipes box, I started typing the newspaper ones. I haven't tried to type a recipe in lately so don't know if that feature still works.
I wondered if the allrecipes admin was behind the change to the review and save functions but only for folks who did not have paid memberships—the thought being to entice the free members to get a paid membership. If that's the strategy, I'm not buying. There are plenty of other recipe sites out there that probably have free memberships that offer better service than what allrecipes does now.
In looking at the reviews on Sitejabber, I see that I'm not the only person who has noticed these changes to allrecipes. It used to be a great site, but not any longer. I have unsubscribed from the daily e-mails. I may transition the recipes that I've made and like onto recipe cards and file in my recipe box—old school but sometimes that works just as well—if not better—than more modern ways of doing things.

Online site.
This website has been in a steep decline since acquired by Meridith and new Microsoft CEO installed. Many users have been unable to access their saved recipes for months as many "Collections" will not open and give an "Oops" message. Latest problem is their website will not open giving an Error Code: INET_E_DOWNLOAD_FAILURE. Problems repeatedly reported to Allrecipes by multiple users (see "Ask the Community") but no reply is given by Allrecipes. More advertisers need to weigh in as they're not reaching the audience they may think they are, and ad $ being wasted.
Used to be one of my favorite websites. Today I find it utterly frustrating and a huge waste of time. I have trouble finding popular recipes that I've used in the past and loathe no longer being able to sort for what I'm looking for. The site simply assumes it knows best anymore. Miss the old version - RIP.
Tip for consumers:
Still good intel in the review/forums, just far, far harder to get to unless you have tons of time and aren't on a phone or tablet. Nearly useless on mobile devices and generally 75% crappier than what it used to be:(
You would try to save one of your recipes then you would go to your profile to look at it and it wouldn't be there.
This was the best site ever for recipes. You could sort your recipes to find great options. Now it is impossible to use. Sad!
Have been trying to like the new site for a while. It does not sort and organize like before - everything moves super slow while tons of ads load and it does not even search my recipe box correctly. I think I will print out my favorites and move on to other sites for new ideas. It isn't worth the effort any longer. Surprised that they are not listening to the complaints and trying to improve on them.
I just received my first magazine and had to turn 13 pages before I found a recipe. There are also ads among the recipes throughout the magazine. It's not worth the deal I got for a subscription. I'm aware that ads are a must, but this is beyond ridiculous!
Given the difficulty in getting recipes to load and the irritating ads that pop up everywhere I will be leaving this sight for other options!
If I have a recipe that takes 30 minutes to make, but it takes almost 20 minutes to find it, it's not worth it! Pages load SO slow. Searching through my favorites is SO slow (and if I click a recipe it takes me back to the top of the list every time). The search feature doesn't work at all in my favorites. For example, I have about 10 recipes with the word "banana" in the title. But depending on the day, 0 or 2 or 5 of them will be displayed. It's so fickle and broken. :( Looking for a new recipes site...
I try to avoid this site because it is so painfully slow... I assume because it's loaded with ads, etc. Sometimes I really want a recipe I know is on Allrecipes and am willing to endure the wait. Right now I have it open in another window and it's still connecting. Never mind... it just timed out.
Can't read reviews, can't even read my notes I made on the recipes in my Recipe Box. Recommended to many previously.
Please, please, please bring back the old format for this website! It worked sooooooo much better than this new one. Change is not always a good thing; sometimes it's better to just leave well enough alone.
Please stop putting the spoon stirring in all of your recipes. It is very annoying! I find myself not wanting to look at your recipes because of it!
Ads galore and no ability to filter or sort. Now its endless scrolling with no ability to distill what I need. Goodbye my dear recipe site. I'll miss you
