Too many problems with customs although you charge me for the 6% VAT, which means that there should not any issues.
Estimate shipping cost to France where 4.5 euros but once I put my credit cart informations, the real shipping cost where 10 euros! That's not fair, as i may be not have place the order. Then a 2 stars rate...I'm really not satisfied with that.
It took four different attempts for my payment to go through over the course of two hours. Frustrating and left me concerned that I have exposed myself to theft of card details.
Took ages to tell you did not have what I ordered. Looked at your listings and found a vendor (of yours) that is based here in U.S.
However shipping says it must go to you for distribution rather than direct to me. More delay…
Option for PayPal offered but would not work. Had to request clarification and got a quick but confusing reply which said PayPal not available to U. K. buyers; I'm purchasing from the U.S. where I am a citizen.
Hard to retain UK site even when requested on search. Defaulting to US. Card payment 'rejected' as result of abbreviated first name but no clear path what to do next. Thankful CC company picked up and texted pathway to complete purchase safely. (I hope)
There was something very odd in the payment area/card number - 1st card used message said number incorrect - which I corrected but it didn't refresh properly. After several attempts went back to the beginning and started again... frustrating as unable to completely edit all the fields hence starting from scratch
I just discovered this website. If everything goes well, I will be very satisfied, since I save a lot of money compared to buying english books on Amazon, even taking into account the high shipping costs.
Clean, easy to use basket. Would appreciate PayPal but not essential, I understand they can be robbing bastards with their fees. Thanks for selling used books and not being Amazon, you beautiful people.
I had seen the two copies last night, then they seemed to have been bought, but I am finding them again this morning. Since I need the book badly for an exposition, never mind. It was a great transaction in any case. Thanks!
I find alibris to be typically more expensive than other sites, while its interface is strangely awkward. It keeps forgetting my password (a security feature?!) and I don't think your PayPal button is working!
This is my second attempt some two weeks later to secure the purchase of this particular book which never arrived albeit I have no record of a confirmation that a previous payment was ever received.The error may be mine but if your records please let me know. Thank You
Alibris has a huge offer of used books at a convenient price. I have found here several difficult-to-find or expensive book which are in good conditions and perfectly useful.
Just one suggestion. It would be convenient to expand the payment options with, for example, Paypal or other non-credit based options.
I sent you an email a long time ago saying that I was having a great deal of trouble ordering. Your basket kept kicking me out saying my credit card details needed reviewing when they did not and have never failed me on other sites.
Your checkout process was like a minefield tripping me up at every turn - a very unpleasant experience with address elements that I had not selected being inserted from the past and retained against my will and very hard to change back to what I wanted. The expiry field appeared already filled so I did not see that it needed alteration. The card type box was almost invisible. Perhaps 10 goes before all was correct.
So far so good, although I haven't received my product yet! Alibris is an easy site to navigate and I found what I wanted without any problems. However, it appears slightly dated in interface design, which made me slightly wonder how secure it was. I then landed on the payment page, which also didn't install me with secure confidence. However, fingers crossed everything will be OK. But that's my feedback.:-)
Asking for my debit card details, again, puts me on guard that this may be a scam. I tried to avoid doing so by checking out as a guest but still had to go through the procedure. This worries me and detracts from buying books from you.
The site does not seem to recognise my password forcing me to order as a guest.
Extortionate delivery charges - per book even if purchasing from a singular supplier. I chose Blackwells and i know they do free delivery on their own site, had to use Alibris to get books not listed there.
The indicated postage was €2.43 but when I went to pay it had almost doubled. Sellers should put correct postage figures before buyers put in their payment details and discover the overall price has increased.
The interface feels outdated by about 20 years. I ran into technical issues twice and had to leave and come back. There should be a way of updating billing information on the main account page. I deleted an old address from my account page, only to have it show up again when I got to payment info.
Have been ordering for many years and very happy with the work and services you provide. I only wish that there were a dedicated phone number to speak with someone on problems and issues.
