It's sometimes helpful but sometimes not as even scammers post their business therefore it is not safe for your money. For my case I purchased a TV by paying $406 but It never reached me and These people keep on requesting for money and they pretend to have shipped the item while the website for shipping agent is also fabricated.

I have been less and less impressed with Alibaba every day. I am currently trying alternatives. Between more and more cheaply made Chinese products making their way on, to suppliers have dozens of listings for the same products, such as my last order, Alibaba seems to care less and less about protecting buyers and vetting qualified suppliers.

Do your own sereach as much as you can. Alibaba is good place to find your product or supplier but its extermly challenging to get one. Never rely on the product description provided by the supplier. Most of the description on which a buyer make decision to buy are not correct, same description used for multiple products with different price. If ask for reason then there is no reason. Just try to make up a reason on the run.

Despite minor grammatical errors (Chinese company, understandable), the site flowed well from start to finish for my first time importing. I liked that communication with the supplier was done through the website to keep everyone honest. They have a "messenger" built into the site which helped me do everything from the free government phone I'm writing this review with. Perfect for my vows of Simplicity.
It all seemed great... until I made the seemingly harmless comment "at least we have the freedom to talk about our lack of freedom... for now." Alibaba Messenger replied: "Your message was not sent. It is a possible security threat." (Chinese company, understandable)
I was feeling pride in American free speech as Google's Gmail didn't censor my explanation of the incident to the supplier (though I know we prefer surveillance to censorship). Then the product was held at U.S. customs by the Anti Terrorism Contraband Enforcement Team costing me about $460 instead of the original $200 in port charges. It was almost $900, all told, to get a $700 item to my door.
Only $130 covered trucking from deep inside China and shipping all the way across the Pacific. Most of the rest incurred sitting for half a month at the port terminal while bungling idiots rudely tore open the crate (ignoring the screws) trying to put a feather in their intensive examination caps.
I'm not anti-government, just anti-waste, and it's too bad they wasted so much time and money to see a silly rickshaw! That's when I saw first hand just how communist America's capitalism is (and how capitalist China's communism is).
Some would say this is just the cost of importing. I just thought anyone should know that for a small, one-time, personal shipment from Alibaba, shipping to your door could far exceed cost of item.
My item was large and heavy, but I eliminated the usual customs broker fees and tried to find cheap or free ways to file documents (again, online with the free phone I'm using now), clear customs, even driving to Long Beach myself and tying the crate to a modified-pallet-as-roofrack with rope on the top of an old station wagon National Lampoon's style!
Ultimately, this experience makes me wish I could have found a rickshaw in America, but they are decidedly unAmerican. Jane Goodall pointed out the importance of feeding ourselves with local produce. To "think globally, but act locally." I see how I'm still suckling at the China factory teat like most Americans.
In the spirit of DIY, I could have found the plans and built one, though not as fast or cheap as them. I've heard that, though Danish shortbread cookies are popular here around the holidays, American shortbread cookies are popular in Denmark! Why don't we just trade recipes instead.

The platform is great for finding suppliers and placing orders but... if there was one thing they could improve, I think it would be the fact that they still charge the credit card payment processing fees on cancelled orders. I believe it is unfair and not a good way of making money out of your customers. I called my bank and they told me that VISA was not the one charging me, but alibaba. I hope they do what's right and fair because in the end it all comes back to us. Good luck!

I am worried about paying more than over tens of thousands of dollars with TT or
Paying by credit card. It was sample and small amount money. But I need to buy big thing.

I like the services in this site, but some company will display a picture of their product looking good and nice but when you received them the package will look good but the quality is nothing, some waist Trainer I but was returned from by my customers.
Knowing very well that some of my goods come by Sea, it take 2-3 months before I received them, when
you received them you find out that the quality is poor, I can send them back or complain because is too late.

Alibaba is a great place to order products. And to be honest, make sure to purchase a sample of the product before buying a large order of it because all products are not of great quality. You have to test the products out and see if you like it. There are some good factories out there that will work with you, they will customize your products and they'll do what they promise to do for you. My overall experience with Alibaba is okay.

I like Alibaba, but they have a lot to go on when it comes to easy use of the webpage.
Alibaba should also make sure that companies who is offering their gods here, have an easy checkout for all the product displayed on the site, that will lift the total picture of Alibaba!
It shouldn't be necessary to use time on chat with the manufacturer to be able to order the simplest things, it doesn't regards all of course, but too many!

DHL.COM rarely charges extra for shipping. Alibaba always charges for shipping and it is very expensive. I purchased Face Shields since early April. The shipping fee was almost 1500 USD even though the items only cost me 188.00. I had no choice but to take the cheapest format which was by post for 100.00. To date i still haven't received my products.

El equipo parece muy bueno pero por falta de papel de etiquetas que no me lo envio no lo puedo probar y no se hasta cuando probar. Aunque compre por separado pero no llego. Eso significa mas costo de servicios de aduana, costos de envio transporte interno. Por mala comunicacion como consecuencia elevado costo por un solo equipo. Despues de compra fue perdido demasiado tiempo.

You can find big choice of products, but the most disturbing things is the kidding on writing. You agree something then they change without a clear note or communications.
Did 4-5 orders and none of them was according to specifications. They push you to pay outside the platform Alibaba in order to have the money faster that trough the platform.
The products offered may match the specifications/regulations but you need to triple chek with them the real pictures and documentation before.
I would recommend to all buyers to ask the seller to cleary write what they are offering and registering all communications and screenshots for future dispute.

Fair service with good response time. Communications are fairly reasonable. But there has been problems with mixing up tracking numbers which caused lengthy process.

It worked but sellers can by-pass what is really being sold to you. A seller is NOT allowed to sell medicines but they do by changing the product description and picture of what is sold. So you may actually be buying medicine and it's listed as varnish. Be careful of sellers doing this. You may end up with varnish and I don't know how you'd get your money back. Also what was shown to me is not what I received. I ordered a flowing white powder and what I received was yellow and clumpy. The yellow stuff is a picture of what I received. I was supposed to get the flowing white powder.

Although the website looks professional, the information provide per seller page needs to be accurate, right, correct etc. Price description on seller Alibaba page is sometime different from the quote they send you. I remembered to have taken a screenshot of the page sent it to seller, to highlight the price difference between what he was telling me and what written on his page. And his excuse was " Price on Alibaba page is not correct, sorry". The shipping process and offers need to be looked at.

Order Number *******-RT Oct. 27,2019 -ShenZheng communication tech. The package is beautiful but the mobile phone is garbage. Trade Assurance Service I had the worst experience because they didn't want to return the phone and gave me a working phone. So, I disputed the item and I didn't get anywhere with Alibaba. I am disappointed,

I have used Alibaba for many of my products. It is a great source for everyday products at economical prices but only if you are willing to buy in Bulk. New traders on a low budget cannot benefit from the extortionate shipping charges. Suppliers advertise prices and a very reasonable price. But when delivery charges are added, the total price per item turns out to greater than the same product being sold on Amazon or eBay!
I do find it difficult to communicate with suppliers due to language and translation barriers. The time difference between the UK and China means I have to stay awake till late or start communicating around 5 am. Furthermore, the suppliers multitask and take a long time to respond and this wastes a lot of my time.

Solo un único detalle en el tema del envió deben de tener un poco mas de cuidado en hacer el envió que todo el producto llegue en buen estado. Acomodarlo de una manera que en el momento del envió no se dañe.

There is quite good resources available with Alibaba to reach-out seller, RFQ, Chat, meeting options etc.
However, Alibaba shipping services / other shipping services must have transparent pricing system to make the transaction more smoothly.
Always having bad experience with shipping cost from seller's quote. Sellers playing with numbers like reduced product cost and high shipping cost etc..

I recently put in a order where i paid for on time shipping (8-10 days) and did not reiceve my order until after 2 months time, I applied for a refund of the on time shipping but got no reply. I Would advise people ordering from alibaba.com to be very careful of wich suppliers they order from because if things go wrong alibaba will do very little if nothing to help

Unfortunately Alibaba Trade Insurance isn't as good as it should be. I received damaged glass vials, yet Alibaba favored the supplier and would not compensate me on the freight. I received some compensation for the glass vials. In essence, I had to pay very expensive freight for broken glass vials that I have to throw in the bin. What's the point of trade assurance?

I'm an online clothing boutique shop owner. I need 200 sweatshirts and screen printing t-shirts in different styles and sizes. So, I order from an Alibaba supplier of a clothing manufacturer. I contacted one of the suppliers from him and ordered my items. But they didn't give me any feedback or reply, so I canceled my order from there and searched other clothing manufacturers for my boutique.

Commercial contact was enthusiastic, and we made a good deal, by correct planned delay and price.
But the technical team was not able to produce it in the delay, far away, adding 9 weeks to the initial 6 weeks confirmed. And commercial contact didn't give any visibility for a new schedule during all this lag.
