When i had a trip to Egypt, I worked with this website. Basically it's all in one solution because here you can book a flight, book a hotel or place for kinda private stay, plus they are generous enouhg to give some atteactive coupons. Other than that, here you can even buy tickets for ferry, trains, airport transfers and rent a car. That is the reason why I consider it as a platform packed up with all necessary things for having pleasant voyage.
I have never visited the Agoda.com website or made a booking with them. However, agoda.com managed to debit a large sum of money from my account via another site on which I wanted to make a purchase. This site is 100% fraudulent and dishonest. Customer service is no help at all and asks for personal information to help you in order to rip you off even more. NEVER USE THEIR SERVICE
I have booked two rooms for 4 adults and 2 kids at GOLDEN PALAZA,ZIRAKPUR About Rs 6500 via Agoda.com on 1 and 2 oct and we have faced so many issues with this bookings.Firstly we got a call from hotel that agoda has booked rooms for us only for two persons and at last point, this issue was resolved. After that the facilities given to us with too many problemsafter paid huge amount.
I went with family and they have no consideration...rooms are worst quality.I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the room we stayed in. One of the most significant issues we encountered was with the bed. We have booked king sized bed but they have given two single beds joined. We have a baby of 4 years and was very difficult to take rest because of joint. It was extremely uncomfortable and making it difficult for me to get a good night's sleep. When we talked about to change it,they refused as reason was no avalability and even there was foul smell in the room as well.It was very difficult to pass night there. This made for a restless and unpleasant stay.
When you try to book anything on the app or websites please beware. Their customer service is below average. They will only lead you in circles and in the end they can't help your situation. The private property they list on the website is inaccurate because they don't do inspections and it will be your fault if you get a lemon.

I've had no problems with booking rooms at hotels. But booking a flight is totally different. I booked a flight for 2 from IST to Kiev and was rerouted through Kayak and some chump company called travelgenio... who charged me but never sent e-tickets or any confirmation number
Tip for consumers:
Don't book flights

They provide you with cheap hotels that's a good of marketing and it's one way to attract many people we all agree but as soon as you make your reservation they cancel it and tell you that the prices were increased + your money will be refunded with 14 days! Are you kidding me whey the he ll im gonna wait for 14 days and it's not my mistake the money is needed to make other reservations!
I made a hotel booking through Agoda a month before I'm arriving to Istanbul.
2 days away to my trip, i decided to call the hotel's reservation to confirm this booking. I was panicking to hear that my booking has been cancelled. She could not retrieve my booking ID nor my reference number given by Agoda.
I called Agoda only to learn that they have various agents to run these bookings respectively. Nevertheless, spoken to first lady from Agoda named Anna followed by another lady (I cannot remember her name), all they said was, the third party could not be reached, i had to wait for an email or phone call.
A day goes by, the same day I'm leaving for Istanbul. The question is:
- what if no calls no emails
- what if the hotel declined my booking and refused to check me in whereas i have already made full payment via my credit card
- am i supposed to book another hotel and bear the cost?
Many questions running in my head as a Solo Traveller.
My last call to Agoda same day of my departure.
I spoke to gentleman named, Aden...
He was more sincere in helping out, not much picture painted in colors but he gave me results. He assured me with the correct booking number via the third party and i called the hotel to confirmed this, finally.
After all the hassles and longgg phone calls waiting, my booking is confirmed.
I don't know how reliable Agoda is, it's subjective but 1 man made the difference for my experience with Agoda for this booking.
Thank you, Aden..
I booked several hotels through Agoda for my recent trip to Japan. They usually use the system whereby they charge the money. It's very intransparent, as on your creditcard statement, you see only the final amount and not what was booked. I queried one as the exchange amount seemed way wrong, and received only standard answers that as I chose "Pay Later" I had to accept the exchange rate on the date booked... however, how Agoda arrives at the exchange rate is not explained. I had other bookings at the same time which I paid directly, and the "current" exchange rate was always better, both a day before and a day after my stays where Agoda charged. So it looks like they are setting their own exchange rates in order to earn better. I won't be using them again.
Used to be a loyal Agoda customer, now I'll just go with whichever site has best discount rate. Forget the loyalty points, they've reduced it to 3 months validity so useless unless you travel every month or so. Go with your bottom line and forget the gimmick.
False advertising. There are cups & electric kettle on the picture, but in fact, there aren't. It takes me too long time to ask for hot water, after a lot of discussions.
The room is too small, the WC is for baby size only.
This is the worst hotel we have ever experienced.
Easy to use the site. HOwever, after input of credit card details they prompt you if you'd want an upgrade but they don't put in the additional fee that needs to be paid. They only show the amount you've paid already, letting you think that the upgrade would be free. But after you click on upgrade, that's the only time they reflect the total full amount charged to the card, which was in my case, an extra 50sgd. There should have been a confirmation first. Sigh.
Agoda is a helpful tool to find acc, however it is only of good use when comparing with other acc booking sites when booking. The trouble is the rating scheme of those sites. It stands not in favor of the consumer, but adds to price rises for hotels with average services just due to a certain exposure and continuity. I recommend not to rate or to rate down hotels lower even if the stay was pleasant, so that than other customers can enjoy same value for money.
Top local, nice staff, have stayed there many times in last few years. Hotel not real flash but u get what u pay for. Terry Australia.
Agoda service has been great, However they need there online date amendment option to work properly.
Attempted to use many times un-successfuly
Used to stay before, nice budget hotel easily access to public transport. A lot of 24hrs service restaurants in the neighborhood.
I just posted a 1 star review.
To the sites credit I was told I would receive a refund about 2 hours after I wrote them complaining.
I was informed this refund would occur 7-10 days later.
Not sure why they charge the fee in the first place or why it takes so long to refund it. My cc was charged the full amount almost immediately and the refund for the amount minus $15 also happened instantly.
The details are not clear with respect to check out time ie., whether it is 24 hrs from check in or some thing else
Hotel now provides only two bath towels in each room for "saving trees" Extremely inconvenient without face towels (medium-size).
All other hotels we stayed have more than one size of towels.
Otherwise, the location and price as well as service of this Ibis Hotel are well accepted.
Not bad. To add on more options.
Some rooms might be more expensive than booking directly with the hotel website.
I almost using this site every weekto booked as a means of booking a hotel, but now I think to try other booking online is because the book no longer give reward points for every booking...
I have confirmed to the CS, and they explained that they stop point rewards program in which active members in april 2014 but still give a point rewards to those who become members before.
I feel this is very unfair because we are all the same customers who is not ethical for differentiated

I have been a frequent traveler to Vietnam and have used Agoda for several years, I have gotten some good deals, but they come with a price. The agoda rooms are often the poorer quality rooms that the hotel cannot otherwise rent. Usually a room with no view or very restricted one rooms with poor quality air-conditioning, or rooms in a noisy area. Also, I once reserved a room in a hotel for Christmas eve one year and Agoda tacked on without my knowledge a mandatory Christmas eve buffet that ended two hours before my arrival. I was offered a couple of cold sandwiches. $100 for two sandwiches is very poor service!
I booked a villa in Maldives for 3 nights (USD 2,796.27) with Agoda about 2 months ago and I received the email indicating the charged amount of USD 2796 on May 24.
For fair practice code, Agoda should had charged the THB equivalent of USD 2,796.27 on the pay date of May 24,2017. The exchange rate on May 24 is 1 USD = 34.44 baht so it should be THB 96,303.5388 BUT my credit account limit has been deducted with THB 101,094.39 (THB 4790 over! With the exchange rate of 36.15 THB/USD). When I contacted Agoda local on May 24, the staff told me that the amount will be amended to THB 96,783.54. That is fine with me, actually I want to be charged with the exchanged rate on May 24, no matter the rate increases or reduces. On May 25, my credit limit is still the same, no amendment, so I contacted Agoda again, the local staff responded that the amount charged will be amended in a few days. In this regards,
1) I am not sure how much in THB will be charged at my account as well as the actual charged date; as the exchange rate varies day to day, in fact, Agoda should use the exchange rate of the pay date indicated in the confirmation mail (May 24);
2) from my case, it seems that Agoda intends to make profit from exchange rate;
3) If luckily Agoda amends the charged amount 1 week after May 24, still the customer will lose the amount in his/her credit limit for 1 week.
I am not happy with this practice; as I still don't know the exact date and amount in THB that will be actually charged at my credit account.
Price is cheaper compared to other website, and very fast and convenient
