I have an emergency sect 8 voucher and also set to expire soon. I contacted a few landlords on affordablehousing.com for potential rentability. I communicated with a few of the landlords and I will tell you right now they are liers and thieves and this website should definitely be looking for a lawsuit from me in the near future. I uploaded all of the required documents such as ID, voucher and etc. The landlords will not call they will only message you through the website. One landlord corey bowden with property listed as 2416 Elsevier St, Mobile, AL ******* really scammed me out of my application fee which was $50. I am already low income so I didn't have that to lose. Corey bowden wife was the one that kept communicating with me and she scammed the entire time, she claimed that if I passed my background then I would have the property as the tenant which of course I passed the background check I have never been in trouble ever in my life. So after paying the app fee and waiting 5 days for a background check to be completed, the landlords wife finally texted back with the most unprofessional lie I've ever heard, I will upload the screenshot so you all can witness. I was basically promised that I'll be the tenant as long as my background came back clean. These scammers stole my time and money which I am holding affordablehousing.com responsible since it was their platform that the scamming took place on, you should of regulated your platforms but since you didn't then I will just hold you responsible for the false advertising, theft and fraud. They never intended on renting me their property their only intent was to defraud me and scam me out of the application fee and to waste my time in the process. Basically they led me to believe that if my background check came back clean then they would rent the property to me but that was a lie, their only intent was to scam a low income person out of $50 and to waste my time, I sat over a hour waiting for them to make it to the property to have a walk through only just for them to take my $50 non refundable application fee and rent the property to someone else so I'm suing. I didn't have that to lose and I didn't have that time to waste. Initially I did miss the first scheduling but the next day we had the walk through, I miss the first scheduling because I failed to check my messages so it was rescheduled for the next day.
Be careful and don't ever rent from corey bowden and especially his fast talking lying wife Erica bowden they are scammers.
