Do not waste your time and money on this scam. Chris Beaver sends you an elaborate phishing campaign promising a board seat. Before your trial period ends they bill you a whopping $395.
The platform itself is a bunch of empty and inactive chat rooms of unknown, paper companies.
This company is a scam. Their customer service is horrendous. Their offering isn't client focused. There is no transparency.
Not worth the money, a real joke. Boards are just there to pump money out of the board members. Stay away.
Don't do what they promise! No emails, no contacts. Billed me before trial period was over. When I cancelled they offered me a 50% discount to stay. Why not offer that price in the first place. Although I woudn't pay them $5 because they offered no service. Now I continue to fight for a refund they shouldn't have charged me for anyway.
Looks like the business model includes taking your monthly subscription and refusing any sort of refund or money back, even one half day into the cycle.
I tried to cancel my service within one day of finishing the trial period. The companies they offered looking for advice did not match my skill set and I was a little tardy in the cancellation, cancelling the day after the trial finished. They took the money from my credit card for the next month, within one minute of the trial expiry. Then, despite multiple requests, they refused to refund the one month payment - for a service I don't need and will not be used by me.
So now I am £295 out of pocket. Read the other reviews on this company before paying anything.
I signed up for the free trial. Upon looking around their site, it was complicated and convoluted. I immediately cancelled my membership. They charged my credit card $295. When I contacted them to ask for a refund, they said they never received my cancellation and couldn't contact me because I opted out of email. It was apparent I did not use their service, and I contacted them the day after my trial was supposed to end. I've since seen similar postings from others.
Joined a year ago and had no success or consults for any real companies. This site is a total scam and they just rebill you like clockwork
Contrary to the claims of their marketing people there is not a huge number of companies seeking advisers like you. Once you pay them money you will discover that their website is nothing like what they claim. They ripped me off big time
Quick to fix an issue after a billing dispute. I appreciate Sara's quick response and quick resolution
Beware if sign up for a trial with your credit card. They will automatically bill you without further authorization. They will not refund if you miss the trial expiration.
Your initial fee $1K provides signing up for a single board. Never heard from sign-up on recommended board. Signing up looks like you get put in a chat room offering free advice.
Since they would not refund the day they charged me and I escalated to management and dispute submitted to the bank was refused with AdvisoryCloud refering to their online agreement for trial and the bank accepted it.
Note, be advised if you like chatting for free, for $1K you can have one active so-called board membership. Checking to add board interest to posting, found for adding another board beyond one would be an upgrade for $Ks.
Complete scam, worthless service.
Wanted to try their "Free Trial " as I was curious about their service. Decided I was not interested and forgot about them. Literally, the very second my 30 day "free trial" ended, they immediately charged my credit card $950 (!)- something not made clear to me AT ALL. I called the minute the charge hit my credit card, desperate to advise them of the error only to be told "sorry we sent you an e-mail a few days ago (that conveniently went to my SPAM box) telling you your trial period was coming to an end- there's NOTHING we can do." What kind of company blatantly steals money like this from people who clearly do not want their product? This is so shady, I can't even. Stay as FAR away from this shady company as possible.
Pay attention to the subscription aspect as it can be difficult to get a refund once it renews. Leadership team was very helpful.
I was able to get good advice for my startup. The new improvements on the new site are also making it easier to get feedback.
These people used to do business as ExecRank. I wasted my money with them and got zero leads. Not even bad leads or leads that were mismatched, just zero. The "advisory boards" they peddle consist mostly of companies wanting to access your LinkedIn network. None of the ones I saw offered pay (only a % of sales you would generate), and few if any of the represented companies would be considered "blue chip" or "recognizable". Does not mean the companies that are on it are not legit. It just means they are not going to be great add-ons to your resume. If you want to find positions like this, just blast yourself out there via your own LinkedIn network. You will probably have more success!
If Advisory Cloud is legal it is barely legal, otherwise an outright scam. I signed up for this, received none of the benefits promised and wrote it off. Then I got notice of a $285 deduction from my account called Advisory Cloud and asked for the fee to be refunded and the account closed. They closed the account but would not refund the $285 telling me that I should have notified them "15 days before the billing that I wished the account to be closed." I asked how I would know when the 15 day period began I was told that was my problem. Absolutely avoid these people.
