My local 7/11 is great. A little pricier then a bodega, but more pleasant in both the workers and the atmosphere. While it's not a supermarket you are likely to find anything you need from a quick bite to eat, to various flavors of coffee, to over the counter medicinal things, a quick fix for your car (oil, power steering fluid, brake fluid, antifreeze etc) being able to purchase gift cards, there is a large variety of necessary things that are usually located close to where you live and open at hours most other stores aren't.
The store at the corner of Macarthur Street and Victoria Road North Parramatta maintains a strict shut out policy at and after 11:00pm. I went there looking for personal items but I have no idea what they have. I asked the operator to let me in but he refused. There were a LARGE group of other male customers already crowded outside their night payment TINY window where people order and pay. I felt extremely uncomfortable to say what I was looking for in front of a group of male, including the male operators. The franchised operators of this store simply treat late night visitors as default criminals. They don't even trust a woman to get in. What are they really afraid of? If they DON'T trust, better that they don't operate a 24 hours businesses. Other petrol stations don't have this strange straight shut out policy. They do NOT provide ANY convenience. They DO NOT deserve to call themselves convenience stores.

Tip for consumers:
Their beverage machines break down from time to time, especially during hot summer time. Their hot beverages are just powders pre-packed in the cups. You DO NOT make any coffee over the machines. You only add water to whatever instant dissolved powders to the cups. Worse kind of beverages despite whatever they advertised on the billboards outside their franchised shops.

I couldn't purchase anything because the operator did not let me in ASSUMING I will rob him anytime!
