“Excellent quality and quick shipping”

I ordered a print from one of my favorite abstract artists (Hilma af Klint). When it arrived, I couldn't believe the quality of the print itself – the color was amazing! – but the custom mahogany frame is really what brought it to life. It's hanging in my living room and I ordered the same piece for my best friend a few weeks later. I couldn't recommend this company more!

“Horrible Business”

I took an CibaChrome photograph to have UV changed in frame. The result was 4 years of awful service and no accountability. They took a 14k cibachrome and mounted it, which ruins the images value forever. We went to small claims court, and the representative lied under oath in court instantly. The judge awarded me the case, but I had to choose a lower price in court just to receive my image and frame back. All I did was drop off image in frame, because they print for library of Congress,, my image to have UV plexi changed, they totally ruined my image. The representative had no knowledge of art or framing techniques and kept my image as hostage for 4 years. I can't express what a disappointing experience this was. The topper was when we went to small claims court, took our oath to tell the truth, the representative starting lying immediately. He stated I asked to have it mounted to the judge, all employees stated it was an accident and was their fault until court day. This business does not have any accountability whatsoever, and lie under oath in court. I would do no business with them on any level. Quite dissatisfied! I had to leave $4500 on the table at court because I choose to have my image go home with me. The fact is I am pretty sure they would have copied a once stunning ciba chrome print and photoshopped it to sell, The company Ilford, stopped producing Cibachrome and the chemicals required to process since 2012, so the image cannot be Replaced. They ruined its value forever. I choose to take $14k print, and 40x50 frame $1200 for what I paid for it in 2011, also to not let it represent the amazing artist whose living is based on stunning Cibachromes. I would say never use this company ever.

Tip for consumers:
Don’t ever use Art Authority LLC for any business.

Products used:
Took a Cibachrome photograph to have UV changed in frame . The mounted the image and ruined the value of my $14k Cibachrome and said it was their fault until we went to small claims court , then after our oath to tell the truth, he started lying to the judge that I requested it be mounted . The judge knew he was lying instantly, and I won the case but was not given what it was worth , even when I requested wholesale price .
A horrible experience and the worst place to do business with . They don’t care about customers , only theirselves and money .

I just received a reproduction of Hilma af Klint's 'Group IV, The Ten Largest, No. 3, Youth' as a gift in the mail, and I couldn't be happier! Not only was I surprised that 1000Museums shipped to Guam, but the quality of the painting took my breath away! From excellent service to high quality, I couldn't be more pleased! Every time I look at it, I think of my sweet friend who sent it to me. :) I will be ordering only from 1000Museums from now on. I'm excited to continue to decorate my home with such beautiful works of art.

I don't usually write product reviews but I felt compelled to write this one because of the exceptional customer service.

This business is located on the west coast and I live on the east coast. I placed the order and needed to receive the painting within 8 days, so I paid for expedited shipping. Immediately after placing the order, I received a call from the company saying they had received my order but needed to double check if they could meet that deadline. A few hours later I got an email saying that they would be able to accommodate and I got the painting in about 5 days! The quality of the print and frame is also great. I would not hesitate to order again from 1000Museums.

Orders sent to Canada are subject to duties and additional HST and service fees amounting to about 50% of the total order. In short, too expensive to order from Canada.

Everything I have purchased from 1000 Museums has arrived expertly packaged and in excellent condition. The quality of the prints is superb! The only thing I have to say is that there could be better information on when the merchandise is going to arrive. Just a minor point.

Despite the apparent accords signed with world-class museums, something is amiss with the production process at 1000museums. You order custom-to-made photo-mechanical prints of art works, from their online website, but you have no idea what the end result really will be case. Case in point: (1) Caravaggio's "Medusa" in the Uffizi came out very dark and "smudged" despite its near lifesize. The background should be a bright spring green. The entwining snakes lacked definition and highlights. (2) Van Gogh's "Wheatfields with Cypress" (London, National Gallery), on the other hand, came out way too washed out. The intense corn yellows of the wheat fields came out practically lemony yellow, while the skies came out a light sky blue, with the impasto, that appears in the Taschen book jacket of the hardcover on Van Gogh (Inga Walter) was practically invisible.

The Taschen book sells for around $20-$25, about a third of the cost of the color-challenged 1000museums print.

In other words, there is no quality control. No work is inspected against the image that they have under contract from the museum.

Be prepared to have to send it back in the tube after you inspect. You have to do this within 30 days.

I wrote to 1000museums to express my concerns, and all I got back was, "We think our prints compare favorably to many of the others out there" rather than a substantive reply, explaining if and how they assess the quality of a made-to-order print. What standards do they hold themselves to? A mystery, indeed.

Ignore the self-hype of 1000 museums: it's no better than art.com, fineartamerica.com, walmart (?), etc. Definitely don't get it framed there--you may be paying a lot for a substandard poster!

I ordered two framed prints. The best I can say is they were very well packed and despite a pretty messed up exterior, the contents were in perfect condition.

Too bad the quality of the prints didn't match the packaging. The Bierstadt print,"Rocky Mountains, Lander's Peak" which has a prominent, dramatic sky and an image of the peak, is so washed out that you can hardly see either. It's so bad that one wonders how they do quality control, if at all. The print bears no resemblance to what you can view online. It was a total waste of $341.48. My recommendation is if you are going to buy from them, buy just the print. If it arrives in a condition worthy of framing, have it framed locally. It reduces your exposure to paying for unacceptable quality prints.
