Ali express is a total scam and walk away from it

I have ordered a coat from Ali express, as soon as I received conformation that payment and shipment the seller has changed his online shop... took down all the clothes he was selling, just has 1 polo shirt and several watches for sale... everything else is gone within 3 day? Unable to contact seller and unable to trace tracking number no reply from Ali help centre... looks like they pulled the wool over my eyes... I will stick with Ebay and pay little extra for trust and security...

Thank you Andrew... but the only problem is we are all under different rules and regulations when outside Europe and when dealing with some bad online shops from China or elsewhere... and I do say some as I have and still do buy from sites there which I trust... Laws are out of our hands... I can only say if you are going to Ali Express and buying form a dealer have a look at their sales history, how long they have been on the site and make a judgement from buyers comments..., and ask seller if they are selling on Ebay because I would trust Ebay

Aliexpress is NOT scam. It simply has very lax rules and very little enforcement. For Chinese suppliers it's basically a free for all. Your seller is also certainly not gone. It's there, but under a different name.

When using Aliexpress you have zero buyer protection. The platform is about protecting sellers, no matter if fraudulent or not.

It a scam... anyone who takes money from a person under false pretences... is called a scammer, anyone who takes money from me and who says they are selling me an item, posting it out, gives me a false tracking, number, never replies to my messages is a scammer...
My personal view...

You are entitled to your view. Aliexpress is simply a platform. There are similar scams going on on eBay, but they have an eye on it. AE is more like a free4all. To me, AE is not a scam, but many suppliers are and AE does not give you any protection. It's a fine line though and I can see your point.

I don't use AE and not plan to do so.@Andrew M.

Simply don't buy there. They whole thing is kept alive by people using it.

I think that payment should be released to the seller when the goods are delivered and checked by the receiver.

I don't use AE so I can't really give a clear answer. From what I heard there is such a system, but it's flawed. Complaints are usually decided in favor of the seller.

Isn't that the entire reason they don't use PayPal?
So they can rip off people.

It's 2018
But I demand that you send me cash...

I have had very good experiences with Ali express and the payments have been held in escrow until I am satisfied with the goods.

Question is, what happens if one is NOT satisfied?
