Tested positive for covid 3 days before our Alaska cruise/tour so had to call Princess and cancel. Went to urgent care and received printed verification that I had covid. Filed a claim. Started reading AON reviews and started to get scared--really thought that I wouldn't get anything. Checked the website several times a day and it always said claim in progress/being reviewed. Was starting to panic because when I called they just said the same thing that the website said--"in progress". Received an email 43 days after the claim that said that checks would be written in 2 days and sent to my address. Received the checks 3 days after they were written and deposited them. It has been 3 days since the deposit and they haven't bounced yet. The claim was for over $15,000. In reading about other travel insurance companies it sounds like everything is done online and nobody ever calls the client and tells them how the claim is coming or asks any questions. Also, i think that AON is probably understaffed and there are way more claims than they can handle in a timely manner. I am getting quotes from other travel insurance carriers for our next cruise and it looks like their price is competitive. We will use them again.
Aon travel has been processing my claim for 6 months. They don't seem to know what they are doing or care. There's no way to speak with an intelligent agent and their support staff are unskilled. It takes them weeks to mail or respond to the most simple requests. I will never use them again.
I purchased AON Travel Insurance for a cruise. While on the cruise, I got sick, so I went to the clinic on the ship and asked to see the doctor. Twice I was told that my respiratory infection was not serious enough for the doctor to see me. I was given medications. I saw my doctor immediately after arriving home.
AON has denied my claim as I didn't see a doctor for my medications.

Travel insurance for a cruise
I missed a cruise July 16,2022 because our Southwest flight was delayed 6 hours due to mechanical failure. In processing the claim with Aon I was informed that they only cover delays due to inclement weather. I admit, I failed to read the fine print but this travel insurance was purchased through Carnival cruise line via the travel agent. Do not trust insurance through cruise lines unless you read the fine print first. GET YOUR OWN TRAVEL INSURANCE. After research, I discovered Generali insurance covers carrier delay due to mechanical failure.

Do Not fall for this company. It fails to deliver reimbursement when due! Spent a lot of $ on this insurance and they Totally screwed me!
I was one of those people who naively believed that if Princess or Norwegian offer you travel insurance, that they are good for it. Nope. Only when something goes wrong do you find out that in fact they outsource their travel insurance, and the company (who conveniently is not the cruise line) gets almost unanimously 1-star reviews. Not only is Aon a scam, but the big cruise lines are in on the scam.

Don't deal with this company. We planned a cruise for us and our two sons' families. We purchased travel insurance through AON. One daughter-in-law became pregnant after booking and ended up with some health issues and concerns. Not a "normal" pregnancy. They declined our claim. Waste of our money and time. We are done with Royal Caribbean as well for associating themselves with AON. Other options available.

I share the same negative experience with AON. The company never gives you an actual update of your claim just standard reply saying that they need more time. AON claims that it takes 21 business days to review the submitted documentation. It is now ore than 40 business days but no progress, no payment.
AON is recommended by Noregian Cruise Line (NCL) who I addressed this issue too!
Warning and do not pay for travel insurance via AON ever!

Don't use this company ever!

We purchased a Portugal tour through Trafalgar. This is the travel insurance that was placed through Trafalgar as a partner travel insurer. Our airlines cancelled flight on Christmas Eve and we were out extra nite stay we paid for our hotel. It's almost 3 months later, and they still indicate claim is pending due to increased volume. Very poor turnaround for a "clean minimal claim".
Aon travel has held my money for FIVE MONTHS. I booked a trip with A&K and they recommended this worthless company. $17,000 they are holding. My mother became I'll was hospitalized then needed to live with us. It has been a nightmare - no one can answer anything they just read same script and ask for 39 more days. No one helps. It has been 5 months and we have sent everything they asked for and we had a cancel for any reason claim filed on Sept 1,2022.
Virgin Cruise line canceled two of our cruises because their ships were not ready and refunded us in full.
AON travel insurance would not refund us even though the two cruises were canceled by Virgin Cruise and not by us We did not cancel our cruise. I do understand the 10 day cancellation policy of.AON but seriously wouldn't you think they would take into consideration that we did not cancel the cruise it was canceled on us?!? So we lost almost $500 because our cruise was canceled on us. We did not cancel. I had reported to the Better Business Bureau and.AON would not budge and refund us. They said it's their policy. Well, I feel due to the circumstances and all of the paperwork and everything I filed, and all of the phone calls back-and-forth to them without any resolution that they just stick by their policy of what it is and even if a cruise line cancels on you you don't get a refund totally ridiculous.AON has called me and left me several messages that they will not refund me several messages on email also. I guess we're just out the almost $500 that we booked for Cruise is being canceled on us and AON just keeping our $500. Does that seem fair at all? They just gained $500 and we lost it. What a company!
Tip for consumers:
Wouldn’t you think that works with a cruise line for Insurance would have a conscience. They just kept our money and went on their merry way and left them. Happy customers that will never refer them to anybody. I had gone through every single step that they needed us to and still no refund, and my time is as valuable as theirs. Very poor Customer Service.

Virgin Cruise line canceled on us and gave us a full refund but AON kept her $500 for both cruises. We didn’t use any of it and they refused to refund it.
Terrible customer service and timeliness. It took AON almost six months just to review my claim. When they finally did review my claim, they required that I resubmit all the previously submitted receipts. I did not get any response until I filed a complaint with my state Insurance Commission. I finally received partial payment after more than half a year later. Would never use them again. The only reason I used them is that they are the insurance company Tauck Tours uses.

Trip insurance
Do not get this insurance. I purchased this travel insurance for a cruise I got my daughter and her friends for her graduation. One of my daughters' friends could not attend because her brother died 6 days before the trip. I've submitted all the documents including the death certificate and every time I call they tell me it's in review and to give them another month. Although I call every well they tell me they need another month to process. The cruise was on Sept. 2022 and we are now in Jan.2023. They are the worse.
AON conveniently does not tell you that they are secondary to your primary and secondary insurance so you have to wait for denial letters from both insurances before you can file a claim. It's silly because they know you aren't covered on a cruise ship. That's why you purchase the insurance. I'm still awaiting a denial letter from Medicare and then I can file with Bcbs for another denial letter. Then I can file with AON. This began 4/13/23 and it is now 7/20/23. Purchase your insurance elsewhere.
Horrible customer service. Never call, never lets you speak with an appraiser, hasn't paid a claim or even called me in 2 months, even though I have gone through princess, and called them myself, the only answer I get is that my claim is under review. Not one call back, from them or a text, or email, absolutely nothing. I rate them zero not even one star, NO stars to this company.

Don't do business with this company.

Insurance policy for travel.
I purchased a basic trave insurance plan in April for a trip in August, 2023. I was notified that the trip was cancelled due to lack of participation. I am now being told the premium is non-refundable 10 days from purchase date. What sense does that make? Never again. I am not sure of how to upload a copy of my receipt.
I tested positive for covid. My cousin, her husband, and my husband could not go on the cruise. My cousin from Boston was staying in FL with me. My cousin had to fight AON for a refund. Carnival gave her deposit back within the week.
AON said maybe a credit, after 3 hours on the phone. I'm still waiting after 60 days. I will never use AON again.

Do not use AON

This travel insurance company does not legitimately pay for claims that should be paid for according to their rules and regulations. And takes weekly calls to them for 6 months to receive a different answer every time you call. I am not sure why the cruise companies would deal with this unprofessional and ridiculous company. This is a total waste of your money to purchase. If you need to file a claim beware they do not pay even though there is no reason for them not to pay. It is a scam.
It's gonna take months I should have been more diligent there are better companies with excellent reviews I'm going on a trip again I will not use aon infinity...
Please use another company
Have you ever read their lengthy advertisement on how weddings get cancelled all the time and you should buy cancellation insurance for your trip in case this happens to you? Well, it happened to me. I filed a claim. It was denied. They claimed that there is no such advertisement. Be careful. Just use a company with more than 1 star reviews.
Tip for consumers:
Don’t use them for trip cancellation. They won’t pay!
I had a cancellation because of medical reasons for a family friend for whom I booked and paid for the ticket along with my family. We purchased travel protection from AON Affinity via Disney cruise ship. My friend submitted the medical certificate and all of the required documents for processing the claim. They rejected the claim just putting one line reason "There is no cancellation penalty was applied to your booking". I paid the full ticket price and they didn't refund me the ticket price. Don't take travel protection plan from this company which is partnered with most of the cruise ships. Get an outside insurance.

As I was speaking to an outsourced AON supervisor today to inquire about the status of my claim from 8 months ago, I heard a rooster continuously crowing in the background! She could not give me an answer as to why I have not been reimbursed other than they had many other claims and to give them another 30 days! It seemed she was reading from a script! Unacceptable!
I wish I would have read these reviews prior to booking. Signed up for it on a trip to Italy. Had to cancel because I got pregnant and the doctor said I couldn't travel. Filled out the form and had the doctor do so as well but they denied the claim. It's a total scam. I wish I could tell more people about it and run them out of business as this should be illegal.
Tip for consumers:
Don't do it.

My experience matches others on this thread. We purchased the travel insurance for an NCL cruise, on which my wife caught Covid. The NCL medical staff provide medication to the tune of $800 and we had to arrange our own transportation to the airport for $300. I filled the claim immediately upon our return in September, waited the 60 days that they asked for. Then they said I had to first submit my claim to Medicare first and get a rejection letter. Everyone knows that Medicare doesn't cover overseas medical expenses, which is why you buy travel insurance (DUH). It took two months and a couple of calls to Medicare to get them to understand I didn't expect a payment I just needed a rejection letter. Subsequently I have submitted that letter three times, but they keep asking for it again. Tried to call and got their India (or somewhere) call center. The girl actually admitted that she could see all my documents on the computer and then said. "Please submit all this again." I said, "So, just to confirm you are looking at my claim, you see that I have submitted all the documents, but you are telling me I need to submit them again, is that correct." Reply "Yes sir." Total Scam Company
Purchased cruise travel insurance after talking to AON travel insurance directly for more details. This took place 10/05/2022.
We had to cancel our trip due to medical reasons and we asked for full refund.
It took over 3 months to hear back from them, stating they where now looking into our claim.
Another 2 months went by, they wanted all medical backup, from hospital, surgeon, medical records, pre existing conditions etc.
They all received that, incl personal signed letter from surgeon with brief explanation and telling them they took the wrong conclusion.
So, 8 months later received an email informing us they will not refund our money, they came back with stipulating sentences from travel insurance policy. (We never got their policy when we purchased their insurance.)
It is a horrible company to deal with, hard to talk to anybody, keep coming with new excuses and letting you wait for ever
I would never ever use them again, will not recommend this Company to any one looking for travel insurance.

Last May, both my wife and I tested positive for covid, and couldn't go on our cruise, we were in England and needed a letter of recovery to get back to the USA, so we built up charges for hotel, meals, and other things, which are covered under the trip interruption segment of the insurance, 6 and a half months since filing, still waiting on any word from AON about the settled clam
