Has anyone ever gotten minor damage while renting and had to deal with rentalcars.com insurance? I

Took their bait of "Free Cancellation" and made a reservation then found that the coverage they were including for Iceland was bare bones. Found that for the same cost other rental car companies in Iceland include CDW so cancelled my reservation to get an email back that my deposit had been 'forfeited'. So beware "Free cancellation" is a bait and forfeiture will be the switch if you cancel.
If you don't cancel your cost for CDW could double your cost. Then you can also imagine the CDW that a sneaky and scammy outfit would provide you. To carry your own CDW for any car rental I recommend the coverage provided by Allianz. I found them under my AAA membership. Go to aaa.com then look under Travel > Travel & Trip Insurance. Currently the per day cost for 40K USD covergae is $9.

Fortunately this didn't happen to us but I would imagine it will be a nightmare to resolve with this company, bunch of crooks. Good luck, Alison

The car rental guys are lax in showing you the car when you take charge. They get real sharp when you return the car. Did you buy their insurance if not, your credit card company may be of little use.
Ask your credit card company anonymously if you should take responsibility.
Hopefully, they won't take action despite the damage.

Rentalcars are third party based in the UK. You still have to deal with the car rental company who will take your bond for any damage, then you have to chase rentalcars for your refund. Read their fine print it is written in their contract - Good luck

I haven't the only issue I have with them is they quoted incorrectly and won't refund me what I had to pay over the price they gave me.
