She was very friendly and helpful when helping me. I was calling with hesitation since I am located in Canada and didnt know if there was much to help, but Alisha cleared up all my questions and any concerns were taken care of. Thank you Ali for your kindness and support.
I got a 1 dollar trail for a week of the membership. I emailed twice, filled out the contact forms, and no response. I was charged for the full membership. I then called the phone number to cancel. Elusive there too. Once you cancel, it quickly says a confirmation number that you can barely make out. Then it immediately hangs up. DO NOT USE.

Requested a criminal history report on a person and paid $39.95 for it. It is so lacking in information so as to be worth very little. I was interested in the criminal history. Several offense categories listed with dates and cause numbers. However, the state and court information and dispositions just show N/A. I just wasted 40 bucks!
After using PeopleSmart, I am getting lots of spam to my email address. Perhaps just a coincidence but others have mentioned a similar experience.
This is an awful site, they do not tell you that they will charge you monthly fee and by the time I realized they had charged 200 dollars. It is an awful experience. BeenVerified has better rates, exact info and is more honest than this company. I would expect they should return my money as I did not use the service at all anymore after the first month. However I am unsure if they will agree to do that given the way their site is set up.
Edit: only receiving one star from me because I could not post without. Charging me 19.95 a month for 3 months for something I never ordered or received any information. Only found this because I received an email from my CC company stating I was passed due I should have had A ZERO balance. TOTAL DUE three charges from this company. Shameful way to do business!
I've been charged hundreds of $$$ when they never cancelled the free trial as requested. The report was useless.
I tried this company back in march of 2014, I did not like it because all info was inaccurate on people that I knew so why be accurate on those who I do not. I called- cancelled. Today I notice a manual input charge on my discover card and its theses A$$H*LES taking more money. Never noticed until now so kind of my fault too but obviously they didn't do their job correctly! STAY AWAY and double check your accounts
Tip for consumers:
Not accurate nor worth it and shady!
If you sign up for free trial, they will automatically charge you $20 a month until you cancel. They never inform you of their continuing billing even after 1 year. Any reputable company will at least inform you of your renewal after 1 year or less.

Do not even think to waste your money here. I paid 20 just for the phone numbers, and addresses that I already know, nothing else. And to make it worst they charged my 20 bucks more next month because is a membership fees wrote in small letters, when you are just looking for one time information. Please take my advise "DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE". I loss $40 for nothing, and never get a penny back.
I cancelled this in Dec. I didn't look at my credit card statement. I was looking for something today and found it was still charging. I called the person said I was not telling the truth about cancelling He said there is a times tamp wn\hen someone calls and there program never fails. Apparently they have the only system that is fool proof. You think they would get out of the present business and sell perfect software. I wish you could minus rate.
Tip for consumers:
Do not hang up until you get an email.
I have been satisfied with what I wanted out of Peoplesmart, but I wasn't looking for a lot of detailed information. I paid $20 for an unlimited query month and feel like I have gotten what I paid for. A lot of sites charge that for one query although you might get more information, you just need to determine what you are looking for first and plan accordingly.
Last July 2014, I used this service once for a $1 fee. The confirmation email containing the statement, "After your trial period, you will be charged $19.95 for your PeopleSmart membership and it will automatically renew upon expiration at the same price every month unless canceled," went to my SPAM email. After carefully reviewing my credit card statements, I discovered today that I have been charged every month for a year! Costumer service refunded only three of those payments. I feel completely abused and defrauded by PeopleSmart.
Peoplesmart lowered the amount of info for the same price... They used to included the person's age with your search.,.,,, Now they give you a "ball park" age, ie; late 20's early 40's mid 60's. Etc... They used to give the exact age but instead implemented this weak substitute... I emailed them with this complaint & all they said was they were sorry to hear my disapproval, but never gave an explanation... It was treated like, "So What" attitude... I guess when you make the big money, you can turn your back & ignore the people...
Says they have information, you pay and then they tell you they do not. SCAM. Says I have to have at least 100 characters so
Kirk,
We apologize that we were unable to find the information you were seeking. We apologize, if the owner’s name and address turned out to be unavailable for the phone number that you searched. Although we are provided access to the largest available database of contact information there are times when no ownership information is available.
In this case we can only provide information about the carrier, line type, issuing location, complaints, and other similar details.
Cell phone numbers are protected by strict privacy laws at the state and federal level. These laws regulate how personal information for cell phone customers can be used. This is done for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is to prevent telemarketers from using the limited number of minutes available from mobile service plans. Due to these federal and state laws, no official or free mobile service directory exists at this time.

I was using this service in the attempt to locate a persons address and all I got was a phone number. This is the first time i use a service like this but I paid $4.95 for a phone number I didn't need and didn't get the address I was looking for. Of coarse I was told I needed to pay an extra $49.99 for a "Premium Report" that included the address, which luckily I didn't fall for. Please stay away from this site, you have been warned.
Can never log in, it always says incorrect password even though i reset it more than 5 times. They dont give you a direct number to contact them.
The lead page suggested the site had phone, address, email, etc for the person I was trying to locate. After a one time fee was paid, they produced NOTHING! A complete mis-representation and I would recommend you stay the heck away. They obviously are in the business of mis-representing what they can offer!
These scammers hide a notice that "you will be billed $19.95 a month to keep your service going" (something to that effect). I only found out about this when the charges hit my paypal account the second time (I disputed them with paypal - hopefully they'll reverse them). Finding and cancelling the auto-renewal is about as difficult as curing cancer... it takes a whole lot of digging and clicking through multiple levels of menu to get there. Avoid this service like the plague.

Hi there Daphne!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
I have never used this service. Charged my credit card! Tried to 'sell me' over the phone on the idea that this was such a current bargain and that rates had increased substantially (they haven't) since I signed up (which I didn't). Wouldn't, at least, pro-rate a refund --- it was too late for a charge back on my credit card. I think they are unethical.
Clearly I'm not the only person who has been ripped off by this sham of a company. My experience was similar to many others; signed up for a trial, tried to cancel the membership, and continued to be billed. I finally contacted someone there and after complaining bitterly, they agreed to refund a portion of my membership fee.
I thought that was the end of it. But no. This month, I noticed another PeopleSmart charge on my Visa for $35. I just called the company. The representative told me they have been billing me annually (and renewing the membership) for several years. She says I was notified by email about my membership renewal -- I don't recall any such emails. She also claimed I have never contacted them before. She would not cancel my current membership charges, but agreed to cancel the next one and to close out the account.
We shall see if that happens or not.
How do these people get away with this? Has anyone reported them to the Better Business Bureau? I may do that.
They are disgusting!
I ordered a one time background check for $30. The only thing it listed was neighbors, addresses, and relatives. It originally said that there were court records to show, but it found nothing. I then did a search on myself and other people I know and noticed that most of the records given are outdated. So the address listed for the report as ordered is most likely out of date, as well.
They charged me 14.95$ and 174.90$ for a years service, that I did not order. Called to cancel it and they, people check, claimed that no charges were made. But the money was taken out of my bank account. Had to get new card to stop them. SCAM artist.
I just used PeopleSmart despite the bad reviews and found it pleasant and got all the info I wanted. It was an ease to cancel.
All you complainers, I'm sorry to say, it's because
1. Don't read
2. Don't know your way around the internet very well.
3. If all else fails, you can always go to your paypal and cancel recurring subscription.
Five stars from me. Thanks PeopleSmart.
