Question:

Answer:

Hi Denon, Yes! Your situation is one of the main reasons our Park service was created! Parking is a simple and inexpensive way to maintain ownership of your number so you don't have to notify all your contacts of your new number. Our Park service starts $2 a month and will allow you to use a custom outgoing message for all callers. We'll even waive the setup fee for an annual commitment! You can verify if we can accept your number on our site here: https://www.numberbarn.com/basket?step=lnp If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at support@numberbarn.com

Question:

Any issues porting numbers back to att after you port them out?

Answer:

HI Paul. Are you simply trying to slingshot back into AT&T as a new customer? I'm not entirely sure if they monitor such behavior. NumberBarn hasn't had trouble porting from or to AT&T, but I'd hate to see you port into NumberBarn and not be able to accomplish what you ultimately want. We're here to meet number needs, so feel free to email us at support@numberbarn.com so we can answer any other questions you may have.

Question:

Answer:

Hi Ronnie, If you're looking to use NumberBarn as a stepping stone, we're all for that. We're here to meet your number needs. You can initiate a transfer request by visiting www.numberbarn.com/search. This will allow you to set up an account, and authorize the port. Once we have your authorization we will submit the request and request a confirmed transfer date. This requires T-Mobile's cooperation to release the number. If they reject it we might need more information from you, so we say most transfers happen with 3-7 days depending upon carrier and customer response time. However, we've seen them get down in less than 72 hours as well. On top of that, you'll have to make sure T-Mobile will accept the number again once it's ported out. We've ported to T-Mobile before so we know it's not a problem, but some companies try to prevent exactly what you're attempting. That doesn't make sense to us, but it's their business model not ours. In any event, we only require the new provider (in this case T-Mobile) to submit the port request with your account details, e.g. account number and PIN, and your number will be automatically unlocked to port. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at support@numberbarn.com.

Question:

Which service do i need if i want callers to be able to leave a message? the cheapest please.

Answer:

Hi Susan, It doesn't look like we answered your question earlier, unless you contacted us at support@numberbarn.com as well. Our least expensive plan, at the time of this note, for voicemail is our Forwarding Plan: $6/month. This plan includes 300 minutes and you can read more about it at www.numberbarn.com/pricing.

Question:

Hello. i have been with nextiva for a year, and they want me to renew with them tomorrow. problem is, a year ago they started my forwarding service from my previous business line, and in the process, installed a voice mail box without asking me. for an entire year i missed sales calls, due to the fact that the nextiva voicemail was hijacking my unanswered calls, instead of letting my at&t voicemail do the job it has done for the last decade. i lost thousands in sales. nextiva has failed to acknowledge that they've caused a problem for me, but what's worse, their vm system intercepted four calls from a customer who paid for product from me but did not receive it. the guy contacted his local police department and filed a fraud claim against me, because i never answered his voice mails. so my question is this: will number bard screw up this badly if i switch my forwarding tomorrow afternoon?

Answer:

Hi Paul, We can definitely understand your frustration, and would hope NumberBarn would never do anything intentionally without your wish or knowledge. We are in the business of meeting your number needs, after all. We have a voicemail option as well, but it's simply a voicemail forwarding system. So, even if our system did pick up the call the voicemail would forward to your email address on file. Secondly, you can set our voicemail to be completely off, and always default to your voicemail system. Unfortunately, the biggest problem we have is in next-day porting. Non-mobile carriers, like NumberBarn, are not guaranteed same or next-day priority in transferring numbers. We're hoping the industry will mature with providers like ourselves. Transfers take on average 3-10 days depending on customer and carrier response time as there's some manual processing that needs to take place. If you visit www.numberbarn.com/login you can check for number portability, select our forwarding plan, and create an account. After that we will walk you through the authorization process within your control panel, and send you notification of a confirmed transfer date as soon as we know from the losing carrier. Your best bet will be to initiate the transfer and see if we get lucky with the transfer date. I've seen them go through next day, even on a Sunday, but there really is no guarantee, and we may not know until Monday morning. I apologize for the length in my response. I'm just hoping to give you as much information as you might need to make an informed decision. If you have any other questions, please contact support@numberbarn.com and someone will get back to you as soon as possible, as we monitor email all weekend long.

Question:

Can a landline number be transferred over to numberbarn - if the verizon bill has a combined landline with internet access included on the same billing account?

Answer:

You can transfer the number away, although you will want to speak with Verizon first. You will have to update your service/plan since many of their plans are "bundles" that include phone service. Transferring your number away will essentially cancel your phone service, so communicate with them about what you want to do first.

Question:

Answer:

NumberBarn allows you to port (transfer) an existing number or get a new number (local or toll free) to use for call forwarding. Calls to that number can be forwarded to a single US mobile phone number (or any US number) and it is invisible to the caller. You can update this forwarding number at anytime by logging in to your account. If you have a need to dial out from your NumberBarn phone number, we also have an outgoing web dialer and android app that uses your existing mobile phone service. The dialer shows your NumberBarn caller ID and not the phone you are calling from.
