Question:

My company is moving from ct to fl. we need to port two numbers to two different cell phones & keep downtime as limited as possible. suggestions?

Answer:

Hi, Meghan! You can absolutely port your numbers to NumberBarn first - then when you're ready, you can port them to your desired cell phone provider. During the time the numbers are with NumberBarn, you can set up call forwarding to a different active number to ensure that calls still come through. If you have any questions about this, feel free to reach out to us via support@numberbarn.com.

Question:

I currently have verizon. am i able to park my number with you?

Answer:

Howdy, Caitlin! You can initiate a port request from Verizon to NumberBarn and park the number with us. We'd be happy to have you with us! I recommend that you begin by verifying your number can be supported on our network here: https://www.numberbarn.com/basket?step=lnp You will be able to initiate the port request from that point. We will need your number with Verizon to be active (it cannot be out of service) and we may request a copy of bill dated within the last 30 business days to proceed with the porting. A signed Letter of Authorization may also be requested, to which we will provide you with the form. Please let me know if you have any additional questions, and feel free to reach us directly at support@numberbarn.com

Question:

I will be moving from michigan to florida. how can i get my land line number to transfer calls to my cell phone? i have cricket wireless.

Answer:

Hi Michelle, You can initiate a port request to NumberBarn and then we can forward all incoming calls to your current number on to your new Florida number. Does that sound like what you want to do? If so, you can initiate a port request for your number (https://www.numberbarn.com/basket) using our three-step sign-up process: select a plan, create an account, and enter billing details. Once submitted complete the provided LOA form (found within your account control panel), and your number at the bottom of the form. Return your completed LOA to support@numberbarn.com. Along with the LOA, send us a copy of your most recent bill so we can verify your account number, authorized name, and service address. Once authorized you will be able to enter in forwarding details so when the port completes it will immediately begin forwarding your incoming calls. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any additional questions, and feel free to reach us directly at support@numberbarn.com

Question:

Any companies that number barn can't port to?

Answer:

Hi Nicole, NumberBarn will port out to any carrier. The question is will the carrier accept the number. All carriers have their own rules and policies for porting in phone numbers and not all carriers can support all phone numbers. We do know that Cricket Wireless and Google Voice will not accept any "wireline" (or land line) phone numbers for porting in to their service. NumberBarn's phone numbers are classified as wireline and won't be accepted by those two carriers. If you looking to port your number away, we always suggest confirming with the new carrier first about any porting polices they may have.

Hi Leslie, Yes. You can forward your NumberBarn phone number out to any other US or Canadian phone number. It can be a cell phone, VoIP phone, landline, work phone or any active phone number. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact us directly at support@numberbarn.com

Question:

If i park my landline number with number barn for a few months, can you port it to ooma phone service when i get that set up?

Answer:

Hi Mark, NumberBarn can definitely park your number for you at a cost of only $2/month. There is a one-time porting fee of $5. In regards to porting away, you would initiate a transfer request with your new service provider, in this case OOMA, using your account credentials supplied in your control panel. They will submit the port request and we will unlock the number assuming all porting details have been included. We don't foresee, nor have we had trouble porting to/from OOMA in the past so there shouldn't be a problem in your scenario. I hope that helps, and you can always feel free to contact us directly at support@numberbarn.com.
