Yes BBC is looking into it seriously. Many complaints against Mercari.

DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. They have no contact number; can only be reached by text. They have no problem taking your money but good luck trying to get a refund. They say their vendor should have shipped out item but do not offer any recourse. So now they have my credit card payment for an item which I never received. BUYER BEWARE!
