Here’s what consumers have asked with answers from GoodRx staff and previous consumers.
Hi Barbara! While we're experts on drug prices, we aren't doctors and can't give individual medical advice. We recommend you speak to your doctor or pharmacist with any medical questions you might have. With any questions regarding coupon prices, feel free to give us a call at 888-799-2553!
Hello Kim! GoodRx can not be used in conjunction with your insurance! You will need to let the pharmacist know whether you would like to use your insurance or the GoodRx discount when at the pharmacy! Please be aware that prescriptions you fill without using your insurance will not automatically count towards your deductible. You may want to contact your insurance company to find out if you can submit receipts for prescriptions purchased using GoodRx. Many plans will allow you to submit receipts for potential reimbursement and/or credit towards your deductible and other policy limits.
Hello CJ--We're very sorry if you experienced trouble using our coupons at the pharmacy. Our prices are generally very accurate and pharmacies accept our discounts under most circumstances. Our Advocacy Team would love to look into this for you! Please contact us at 888-799-2553 and we'll investigate immediately.
Hello Evan--GoodRx does not sell your personal medical data. When GoodRx refers to medical data, we are typically referring to the name, dosage, form and quantity of a prescription you've filled with a GoodRx discount. We don't have access to the rest of your medical history unless you provide it to us. We don't collect any personal data from you in order to use a coupon, unless you give us that information by signing up. The only way for us to obtain your information when you are on the GoodRx website is for you to provide it to us directly. We only share your personal information with trusted partners, and we only do it when it helps us help you. For example, if you request a discount card, the name and mailing address that you provide is sent to a mailing house for the sole purpose of mailing a card to you. GoodRx ensures that these third parties are bound to comply with federal standards as to how to treat medical data that is linked with your name, contact information and other personal identifiers. There are many ways you can purchase a prescription for a price you see on GoodRx, many of which do not involve GoodRx receiving any data at all (such as low cash price or a pharmacy membership club). Purchasing a prescription with a GoodRx coupon works in a similar way to purchasing a drug with insurance; a "receipt" of the transaction is sent back to us as the coupon provider (just like your insurance company receives information when you purchase with them). When we receive this "receipt" data, it is de-identified - in other words, information such as your name, address and date of birth, are made unreadable - before we do anything with it. We use this de-identified data to make sure our prices are correct or otherwise improve our service. But, again, we don't sell it. If you have any additional concerns, you can view our complete privacy policy here: https://www.goodrx.com/privacy-policy
Hello Teresa--You can use the coupons more than once (as often as you're able to refill your prescription), and they don't expire. However, we always recommend that you check the coupon price on the website again before refilling so there won't be any surprises when you pick up your prescription. Because the coupon prices are tied to actual cash prices which fluctuate over time, prices can change from month to month. We do recommend printing a new coupon each time you fill or refill a prescription, and please be sure that the pharmacist enters the current coupon information, as we list coupons from several different coupon providers who each have separate discount rates. Checking our website before you go to the pharmacy and printing a new coupon, will allow you to receive the best price every time you fill or refill a prescription.
