I have been published numerous times in both popular and scholarly sources, yet my application was declined. Anybody have similar experience to shed light on why they would turn me down so quickly?

Dear Planting P.,
If you passed the grammar test, it doesn't mean that your account will be automatically approved. Your application is to be thoroughly checked by the administrator of the site who checks a number of things to make sure that your account can be activated, namely your education, working experience, and identity. If you fail one of the criteria, your application is rejected.
