"I am a designer and artist and am afraid of being taken advantage of by a client (reverse situation) if I use designquote. "

Tim,

DesignQuote is a lead service. We simply find people looking to hire designers, talk to them and verify they have funding and are looking to hire, then make the lead available for purchase to our designers.

If you want to find out more about it, register and get on the designer forum and ask the other designers.

Clearly written project scopes, milestones and deposits are the way to ensure you do not get taken advantage of regardless of which end of the transaction you are on.

Hi, My name is Jessica. I have been working on customer service for Designquote. I can tell you we are currently working on the new website and there will continue to be an FAQ. I hope that I can address a lot of the concerns that have come up.

We all come from a background in design and/or development at Designquote and are working hard to make both clients and designers happy with the service. You can visit and review lots of satisfied customers on our website right now. https://www.designquote.net/

Being a designer myself, I know it can be frustrating when you spend money on leads that don't come through, but it is definately a numbers game and always a gamble. However, once a lead does come through, that client is yours for life. And it it is up to you to keep them coming back, get their testimonials, as well as motivate them refer new clients to you.

We do a few things differently then other lead sites to help our designers too.

1. We try to help the client work out what design help they are actually looking for.
2. We assist the client in coming up with a "ballpark" budget. Of course depending on the amount of work they have and the level of complexity it can chanage. So we make sure the client understands it is a "ballpark" estimate.
3. We make an effort to only post projects with fair rates for designers.

Our heart and souls are committed to making Designquote successful for both the designer and the client.

The designer forum has been removed from the designquote site. I assume it's because there were so many complaints posted.

This sounds like a terrible situation. I am a designer and artist and am afraid of being taken advantage of by a client (reverse situation) if I use designquote. How did you come to pay for services not rendered? And did you buy and register your domains before sharing any info about them?
