Here’s what consumers have asked with answers from DealDash staff and previous consumers.
If you do not win the auction you will see the buy it now button. By using the buy it now option you will get the item for retail price and all bids back to your account that you used in the auction. Users who take advantage of this option usually have a better experience, since they both get the item they initially wanted, as well as retain all their bids. Hi Lynn. I’ll be happy to explain how the website works. We operate on the "pay to participate/bid model" so it's required that you purchase bids in advance. This loads up your account balance. You can check out our promotional bid pack prices here: https://www.dealdash.com/buybids Each bid you place removes one of your bids from your balance and increases the price of the auction by 1 penny, then resetting the clock to 10 seconds. It's in this small window that someone else must decide if they will place a bid to outbid you. If no new bids are placed and you are the final and highest bidder in the auction, you win the auction at the final sales price. If you do not win the auction you will see the buy it now button. By using the buy it now option you will get the item for retail price and all bids back to your account that you used in the auction. Hi Mary. Sorry to hear that. To avoid misunderstandings, two users cannot have the same user name. If you are not able to choose the user name you'd like, this means that it is already taken. I'd recommend trying some numbers that mean something to you and you can remember easily. I hope this helps. Please let us know if there's anything else you need. We'll be happy to help.
Thanks for writing Jane. For new users, I normally recommend watching our How it Works video for a brief overview of what to expect from the auctions: http://www.dealdash.com/how-does-it-work We operate on the "pay to participate/bid model" so it's required that you purchase bids in advance. Sorry for any inconvenience you may have had. Unfortunately, overbidding is a phenomenon we cannot explain. Users are completely responsible for the amount of bids they place in an auction. However, in some rare cases you can see this kind of situations happening. We do not have an explanation or reason why someone would overbid. This does not benefit neither bidders, nor DealDash, since it makes our overall customer experience worse and makes us look dishonest. We obviously recommend our users not to overbid. However, since we do not have any kind of control on bids placed by our users, we cannot avoid these situations. I hope this helps clarify. Please let us know if there’s anything else you need. We’ll be happy to help.
