Yes you do pay real money if you choose to but honestly it's not worth it. Don't do it!

It's supposedly freemium, but they push very hard to get you to spend. Don't do that, as there is no guarantee you will even get the prizes you win. Covet 'looses' looks etc. claim your daily allowance and play less. Then it's free... and you will not be ripped off.
