This review is for Nissa who works for Right at Home. Nissa is an excellent caregiver, she is always professional and goes the extra mile to make her patients feel important and special. Nissa is always compassionate, considerate, gentle and a great listener. Nissa always asks the patient if she is providing the care to the patient's needs, she is always conscientious to do the right thing for the patient. Nissa truly genuinely cares for her patients.

I posted a review on Caring.com about a Senior Rehabilitation Center that was allowing patients to lay for extended periods in soiled clothes and bedding and where my father broke his hip because of a fall. Caring.com refused to post my review on their site because it was negative: "Hello, Thanks for visiting Caring.com and submitting a review of Rehab and Healthcare Center of Cape Coral on 02/22/24: We declined your review for publication because it didn't meet our guidelines. Reviews on Caring.com can be positive, negative or in-between, and must meet those guidelines to be published." Amazing that they refuse to publish the truth to their viewers and people who would visit their site looking for a place to send their loved ones. I can only assume that Caring.com has some incentive to not publish negative reviews to companies that advertise with them and for that reason, you cannot trust the reviews you see on their site.

I submitted reviews for 2 nursing/rehab facilities both of which were honest evaluations based on actual experiences. The reviews were not positive. Both were rejected by caring.com and were not published! They were written in accordance with their guidelines as well. It appears that this website protects bad facilities by not publishing negative reviews about them so do not trust the reviews that you read!

Tip for consumers:
Do not trust it

I placed an honest review on a facility on this site the review was not positive as the facility was not a good place and I had mentioned that I would not place a loved one in this facility due to poor treatment nor would I reccomend it. Caring.vom informed me my review had been denied because they said it did not me their guidelines. Obviously only good reviews are accepted even if the facility is bad. The facility I reviewed has numerous violations and caring.com is not letting the truth be told. Don't trust them or the reviews you see on here

In the pursuit of accountability, I find
Myself compelled to voice a truth that stands in stark contrast to the public narrative. It appears there is a selective sieve in place, one that filters out the variegated experiences of real people, favoring instead the gleaming, unblemished accounts that serve a commercial agenda. The dissonance between the proclaimed impartiality and the reality of censored voices speaks to a deeper, more disquieting trend of discrimination for the sake of profit.

With evidence in hand and a commitment to the unvarnished truth, I turn to the Better Business Bureau to lay bare a practice that prioritizes financial gain over factual representation. If a five-star facade is meticulously curated by excluding the one to four-star realities, then the integrity of such a platform is, regrettably, in question. Transparency is not just a virtue; it is a cornerstone of trust. When that is compromised, it is not just the reviews that are diminished, but the very fabric of trust that binds us to institutions meant to serve our best interests.

My Dad and my Family had a long drawn out 85 day terrible experience while he was in for Rehab at Abbey *******@2000 Lowson Blvd. In Delray Beach, FL *******.

Sadly my Dad in deplorable condition was Discarded (Abbey Delray calls it Discharged) from Abbey Delray to a nursing home and he was dead within 30 Days. It appears that Abbey Delray didn't want Dad dying on their watch or in their facility as deaths occurring in Abbey Delray likely wouldn't look good on paper. In addition they Discarded Dad with Severe Pneumonia.

Dad arrived at Abbey Delray for Rehab, doing crossword puzzles, having intelligent conversations as always, singing and cracking jokes, but during the 85 days and up to Discardment and beyond, our Proud, Intelligent, Loving Dad was seeing and grasping at imaginary things and sucking on tissues thinking it was food.

Google and Yelp Website reviews allow me to post our terrible experiences, But Caring.com appears to be a protection racket for Senior Care, Nursing Home and Rehab facilities,

Caring.com so far has not allowed me to post my honest review, saying that it was posted elsewhere. It was not because I changed some things in the review so I rewrote the review and so far they still not have approved or posted it.

If you look at their website, Caring.com has Abbey Delray with 4.3 Stars. Other review websites have Abbey Delray at a more honest rating of 1.2/5 to 3.1/5 Star reviews.

I can only surmise the that when caring.com say you are duplicating reviews, that they mean they will not publish your review because it is a Negative Review about Abbey Delray and that doesn't put Abbey Delray in a good light.

I don't know what's going on at caring.com, But please don't believe the Hype aka Positive Reviews and high star ratings due to Caring.com not posting many of the Negative, low star Ratings, which falsely elevates the current positive high star count, when it comes to making your decision whether or not to admit your loved one to Lifespace Communities dba Abbey Delray who hires a Contracted Rehabilitation Company named Select Rehabilitation based out of Illinois but who have their Contracted Rehabilitation teams in approx. 46 States.

Here's an important take away regarding a Nursing Home, Rehabilitation, Assisted Living Facility which hires a Contracted Rehabilitation Team from a company like Select Rehabilitation compared to directly hiring and paying certified individuals to form their own in-house rehab team.

Even though the Contracted Rehab Team may be doing a satisfactory job regarding rehabbing your loved one, Dad as in our case was at Abbey Delray for 85 days, and 95% of his care was attended to by direct employees hired by Abbey Delray and it was these employees where most of the issues ocurred. The rehab team directly Rehabs Dad for like an hour or so a day. The Abbey Delray employees care for him the other 23 hours a day.

But there is a conflict of interest regarding the Contracted Rehab team and Abbey Delray who hires them as in this case.

Contracted Rehab does not only offer Rehab but they are made aware of the many issues Dad is having outside of the rehab team with Abbey Delray. Which is affecting his rehabilitation efforts and progress.
Considering that the Admin at Abbey Delray told me that with just a phone call he can have one or more or the entire Contracted Rehab team removed from the facility and replaced, how much can the rehab team do. Not much.

Here's an example. Dad was supposed to get transfer to toilet assistance by the CNAs as ordered by the Director of the contracted rehab. I find out that the CNAs are refusing to do this. I bring up this issue to the rehab director who appears very concerned. She educates the CNAs and tells them to transfer Dad to toilet. So for awhile this occurs but here's the catch. The CNAs learn that most of Dad's call button requests are to help transfer him to toilet for bowel movements. So they take up to and over an hour to respond, so Dad has no choice but to wear Diapers and crap in them. This sadly went on for the majority of his 85 days. This was only the tip of the iceberg of the many many issues Dad had at Abbey Delray.

Even though Dad received rehab for an hour a day, the relationship between the Contracted Rehabilitation team and the care or rather lack of care Dad received from Abbey Delray is intertwined 24 hours a day.

One cannot work without the other to achieve the greatest benefit to the patient. It is impossible, imo.

Contracted Rehab can only do so much.
The Conflict of Interest between the Contracted Rehabilitation team and the company who hires them is just too great of a challenge to overcome when it comes to your loved one receiving the proper care.

Thank you for reading my review.
I didn't go into the particulars of my Dad's case here because this review is about caring.com.

If I am allowed to post further information keeping within the guidelines, I will if someone notifies me that I can.

Update: caring.com refused to approve my review once again. No surprise there.
I've spent hours revising my review but forget them. I'll make it my mission to inform everyone I can as to the protection racket caring.com is engaged in regarding Abbey Delray, Select Rehabilitation and facilties like them.
Absolutely Disgusting.
And I let caring.com know this in my emailed response.

Richie C

Update:

I'll keep this short. One of caring.com defenses regarding my review is that they do indeed approve One Star reviews and not just positive reviews for Abbey Delray.
They go on to say that they approved One (1) Star review for Abbey Delray.

They approved ONE (1) STAR NEGATIVE Review and (26) Positive Reviews of (3) Stars & higher.
That's their defense. I need not say anymore. You can't make this stuff up.
Caring.com just proved one of my points in their own words of why you should not use caring.com as one of your criteria in choosing a nursing home, skilled nursing facility, etc., for your loved one...

Hi Richie C, Thanks for your feedback. Our team can be reached via reviews@caring.com if you have any additional questions or need further help with the review guidelines and publishing valid review content.

Also, Caring isn't in a "protection racket" — we've run a high integrity consumer reviews program for over 13 years, with tens of thousands of negative reviews published publicly on our website (including a 1-star memory care review on the Abbey Delray listing). Caring didn't notify or consult Abbey Delray in processing your review submission; and that business isn't involved in processing or approving any reviews for our website (they're also not a verified partner of Caring). The positive ratings on their Caring.com reviews profile were for independent living, assisted living and memory care services; 93% are from seniors and their family members who used our referral services and reflect their honest assessment of the senior living services being offered. We understand you're reviewing a different care level with a different opinion than other consumers; we're happy to help you publish a review within the site guidelines. We'll reach out to you directly to support you via reviews@caring.com. Thank you!

They refused to share my review of a rehabilitation facility for elder abuse and neglect because it was deemed " libelous " so of course, the only reviews they share are five-star or 4-star reviews. When I called them out for their dishonesty, they started harassing me because I would not back down. They are still harassing me. I really hope people do not turn to this website for any truth or entrust their family members to anyone this site recommends. I have filed a police report for the harassment after telling them several times to not contact me.

I tried to do a detailed negative review of a memory care facility that is on Caring.com's website. The facility refuted my claims, provided outright incorrect "proof" that my claims were incorrect, and thus Caring.com refused to post my review. So just be advised that Caring.com's reviews of facilities will greatly favor the facility being reviewed. The point of reviews is to be informative based upon the customer's experience. Caring.com does not provide impartial and nonpartisan reviews.

Hi Scott, Caring doesn't "take sides" or favor one party over another in a reviews dispute — we're a neutral host of consumer reviews. Once a review is published as meeting guidelines, we don't simply remove it based on differences of opinion. Instead, senior living communities must provide (in writing) substantive factual counter to a consumer's allegations before we'll remove that review. And we can receive written substantive documentation from consumers in the reviews dispute too, so you may contact reviews@caring.com to have your case re-evaluated (we'd like to see the documentation that supports your fact-based allegations in the review and factually-supports that the community provided "outright incorrect proof" in their counter). Consumers can (and do) share their negative customer experiences in reviews within guidelines; but making false or factually-inaccurate claims against the senior living community can be potentially libelous (and therefore outside guidelines). Please contact reviews@caring.com for further assistance, such as help re-evaluating your reviews dispute outcome and/or help publishing an updated review within guidelines. Thank you!

They hooked me up with places that couldn't take my husband despite the fact that I was quite specific about his needs. They had prices wrong. They created virtual visit appointments and then never sent credentials for the meetings and were unreachable on the day. In summary:
-Incompetent representatives
-Baiting and switching
-Relentless email and phone contacts after being told to stop -- phone contacts from different numbers, making it difficult to block

Thank you for your feedback. If you haven't already done so, please email community@caring.com for assistance in getting follow up emails and phone calls stopped. We only call and email individuals who have opted into our referral services by submitting an inquiry or calling our referral helpline, and we do honor requests for removal. While Caring.com can help schedule tours as a free service to consumers and senior living communities, we do not manage how the community delivers those tours, and can follow up with the specific community partner(s) involved in your case (it is they who provide any access credentials for online tours). We also rely on the community partners for their latest pricing, usually starting rates. Thank you for taking the time to make us aware of this issue.

I received a call from Sarah and she took my info which she shared. We agreed on a budget and people from many places called and hung up on me because they were over my budget. She never called back but did send emails asking me which place I chose. I found a social worker that helped me choose a community that fits my parent's needs and is within budget. Caring.com didn't help at all, they just shared my phone number (none of the info I provided about my parent's needs), I could have done that myself on the internet.

Hi Maria, Thanks for your feedback, and sorry to hear that you had some unpleasant phone interactions with some senior living communities. If you contact community@caring.com, we can further research the free referral that was made for you, listen to the referral call recording(s), see any communication you had with Sarah, and address any areas for improvement if/as needed. We'll also be able to look at budget details that were shared with the senior living communities in making a referral at your request, and revisit the content of any specific emails that were sent (for instance: as standard practice, our referral emails to communities on behalf of seniors include a lot more detail than just a potential resident's name and phone number). We hope to hear from you directly soon so we can further research and resolve these concerns you've mentioned. Thank you!

As part of our social mission, we offer a range of services, including but not limited to senior living referral, and there is a lot of information we provide online at no cost, that is accessible to seniors and their families without those individuals having to give us their contact information. For those seeking to access our free referral services or a phone-based consult about their senior living or senior care needs: Consumers consent to be called (or call us), and during those calls, we are focused on providing empathetic, expert guidance (that doesn't involve harassing or hanging up on people). If you are a residential home care for seniors or assisted living facility you will lose your money paying $269.54 per month. ($249.00 + $20.54 Tax)
Of course you cannot find my account in your data base because I am using my personal account.
In 6 (six) months we don't have one single tour for our comunity, we received 7 referrals total. After we receive a referral you guys canceled every single time. I understand that nursing home and big facilities have priority for your referrals. And also based on client budget you guys have favorite facilities, too.
I know exactly what happened because two of my family friends contact you guys - caring.com and find out how your agents proceed in order to place a resident for the same area (zip code).

Their representative never replied to my specific communication beyond form letters and offered no other options when informed that the only one sent was far away from our needed area.

Moreover, their only "personal" email was about what information I could give them to close their file-not one word of interest in what they can give me and hadn't provided me for some time as the customer!

Lastly, the company kept repeatedly calling me with disengaged robotic representatives who offered no information when I told them I had been requesting other locations.

To enable us to investigate the service transactions referenced and validate the feedback, please contact community@caring.com. Our Family Advisors are highly trained to provide quality, no-cost referrals for consumers to senior living communities and home care agencies, and they provide a range of information to support seniors and their families; we document such referral communications. What was described in this review doesn't appear to match our standard approaches, and we're available to assist Maggie if she directly communicates with community@caring.com and provides more specific info that we can investigate and take action upon (such as the phone number or email used in the referral). Our management team takes referral feedback seriously, but we'll need Maggie to get in touch directly with us so that we may accurately and effectively address her concerns.

I entered information on a website that used the name of the facility I was trying to contact. But instead, Caring.com called me. I told them I didn't want to use a third party, but the guy was insistent and tried to tell me that the facility I wanted to call wouldn't have the staff to answer my call. Liar.

I called facility directly, and indeed they took my call. My mistake to get tricked by a website that mimics the facility you are trying to reach. Fake.

I was duped the first time, but not the second time. I am trying to talk to a supervisor to get my name of their list and any lists they might sell my name to BEWARE!

I came to caring.com at a vulnerable place finding care for a family member. They played a bait and switch game, did no service beyond giving me a list of some properties, many of whom I previously knew, and had contacted on my own. I did all the vetting work myself and there was NO follow up. This is the opposite of "caring". They get a placement fee from the property and, truth is, beyond providing a geographical search they knew nothing specific. Steer clear, please, for your sake. Highly frustrating experience.

I wrote a review about The Harrison at Heritage in Fort Worth, TX based on documentation in health.usnews.com that only 63.3% of staff were vaccinated against COVID-19 and only 64.9% of residents were vaccinated against COVID-19, noting that via a nanny cam the staff were observed entering my father's room WITHOUT REQUIRED PPE - 10 nurses were out with COVID this week and 10 patients, including my father, were also infected. At 3:47 AM my father DIED today as a result, when he was FINE before- apparently caring.com doesn't find this pertinent info when choosing a nursing home! Note the photo of how they admit to someone who paid for their review generating program that THIS is in fact how they do business- if you don't pay them off, THEN the negative reviews stay on. Check out the other review of a client facility who spent 2 THOUSAND DOLLARS to get "leads" and "referrals" from Caring.com - you think they're going to post negative reviews for facilities who pay them off? It is ILLEGAL for them not to post honest reviews- if this has also happened to YOU, you can make a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission about their shady business practices at www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov or call 1-877-FTC-HELP (Denise G. Of Caring.com better PRAY there's not an afterlife as she clearly sold her soul to the devil!) BACK TO PLANNING MY FATHER'S FUNERAL...

Tip for consumers:
FAKE AS IT GETS- GO TO GOOGLE FOR HONEST REVIEWS FROM REAL PEOPLE!!! They didn't have a problem with me telling the truth like this PAID to generate "free" reviews and referrals site! ALSO- read what their EMPLOYEES have to say about their unethical business practices on indeed.com - will KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF! Look at the reviews of client facilities who have paid THOUSANDS to them for lead & review generation- if THAT isn't "PAID" I don't know what is!

Be careful with trying to review one of their providers. I had a horrendous experience with one of their providers and provided a fact based review to them. I went back and forth with them for one month to get the review published. They sided with their provider who stated some items were contested. In the end my review was sanitized as I still wanted to provide a review for my horrible experience and warn others. My experience with caring.com was horrible as well. The point of reviews ae to be informative based upon the customers experience. I did not have that experience with caring.com

Hi Scott, We're a neutral host of consumer reviews and don't take sides in disputes between consumers and listed businesses being reviewed.

We originally published your review content in September 2022; it initially appeared to meet the review guidelines: https://www.caring.com/about/review_guidelines/

Your review was subsequently contested as factually inaccurate (counter facts were provided to Caring from the senior living community's business records in writing). This caused the review to be removed as potentially libelous.

We offered that you could submit new content within the review guidelines, in your own words, and that didn't repeat the contested facts. Unfortunately, we continued to receive from you some reviews that repeated the contested facts. We seek to publish as many reviews as possible, and hope you'll re-submit a review that doesn't contain potentially libelous content.

Please reach out to reviews@caring.com for any further assistance. Thank you!

Our free services for consumers do include referral to senior living communities and senior care agencies, but we offer more than that too, including but not limited to: a high integrity consumer reviews program, informational reports on topics of relevance (like estate planning), a website about how to pay for senior care, caregiver guides on specific senior care concerns, and more. Can't trust them. They would not accept my original review for Canterfield Franklin since I "posted on Google@ already.

Then, they wouldn't accept a negative review.

They are bought and paid for. Not worth using. No honest reviews on their site.

Hi, Please contact reviews@caring.com for help publishing an original review you haven't published elsewhere. This is a common policy for many review sites, not just Caring, and is included near the top of our review guidelines: https://www.caring.com/about/review_guidelines/ There are tens of thousands of negative reviews published publicly on Caring.com; the reviews program is free of charge. We look forward to further assisting you with participating in our high integrity consumer reviews program.

Hiring Home Instead was one of the best things we did for Wayne, who suffers from severe Parkinsons. Wayne looks forward to Deon (his primary care giver) and Mike (who usually does Saturday's). He feels comfortable and safe with both of them. Wayne is a very independent person so he was uneasy with having a caregiver at first. Both Deon and Mike treat him with respect and this makes a huge difference. We feel as if they are family. Having this kind of service is expensive but is definitely worth it as Wayne is able to stay at home and not be in a care facility. I certainly would give them 5 out of 5 stars.

I wondered if others shared my experience and sure enough here on sitejabber there are many folks who tried to leave a review with legitimate concerns on caring.com and were denied. I was hoping an honest review may let folks know what's going on with the residence, and also spur some action by the residence (since mom kept falling and falling and the residence wasn't communicating with me regarding a plan). I think caring.com is missing an opportunity to help hold some residences accountable - we as the public are just trying to IMPROVE the quality of service here for our loved ones. I tried getting that accomplished with the residence several times before going to caring.com to leave a review.

One of the frustrating points is that I look at other reviews for that residence on caring.com and other places and they are in CLEAR violation of guidelines because they are left by EMPLOYEES of the residence! And yet our honest fact based reviews are denied. It's a shame that caring.com seems to be empowering bad behavior by certain residences and then silence individuals who would like the truth to be shown.

I wanted to trust caring.com, but as many other folks here mention, their actions make it difficult to do so.

Jon, We take allegations of fake reviews or employee-posted reviews very seriously. Please contact reviews@caring.com ASAP so that we may investigate the page(s) on our website where you think there are reviews published by senior living employees. We will immediately audit every review on those pages (including re-evaluating the reviewer identity and content source data we have for those reviews), and remove any that violate our guidelines (which prohibit senior living community employees from publishing reviews on Caring.com). We can also assist you with publishing a negative, factually accurate review within guidelines. We seek to publish as many valid reviews as possible —regardless of rating. We currently have tens of thousands of negative consumer published publicly in our directory, and do not decline reviews simply because they’re negative. We hope to hear directly from you. Thank you!

My mother is at Sommersett Neighborhood in Oklahoma City. I can not write enough words to describe the care of my mother. The employees are the best. My mother has been treated with such kindness and care. During these hard times i am amazed how they have handled everything. I would recommend this facility if needed for their loved ones. They are family to my mother and to us.

They make money from assisted living facilities. If they see a negative review with someone they work with, they will not publish. They state that you can inquire why but they will not respond. They don't care about giving an honest unbiased review. Complete frauds.
